About Psycotheis

Life is full of hardships and though being as young as I am, I've dealt with a lot over my time. I'll admit, I've never had a death of a loved one, getting stung by a bee, had cancer, or died and revived so I can live to tell about it, I still have some know hows on how to deal with it all. I know things here and there that have nothing to do with anything but it helps in times of need. Its all a matter of paying attention and figuring out what could have, would have, or should have been done.

I can give great advice sometimes, buts a matter of fact that you can't just read it and go,"That's a great idea, I might do that..." Take into account that advice is only as good as the person who uses it, not the person who gives it...
The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone.
George Eliot
English novelist (1819 - 1880)

Character is what God and the angels know of us; reputation is what men and women think of us.
Horace Mann
US educator (1796 - 1859)

Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
Hebrews 13:2

We are, each of us angels with only one wing; and we can only fly by embracing one another.
Luciano de Crescenzo

A man does not have to be an angel in order to be a saint.
Albert Schweitzer
French philosopher & physician (1875 - 1965)

God always has an angel of help for those who are willing to do their duty.

i'm going to be a junior next year and am interested in doing a program they have at my school called post secondary where you can take some college classes along with your high school classes and basically be enrolled in college too.
kent state university is the college btw.

so has anyone ever done this or know anything about it?

if so i have some questions...

is it like a ton of work? i know its going to be a lot more but i just want to know the work load

were the ACTs really hard? [we have to take those to get it]

did it make you miss friends you normally got to see more?

do you think it was worth it?

thanks
i think i could do it, i get A's and B's and always want to do the highest classes i can haha so thanks for any advice! =]

I live in Vegas and we have the same program, or at least close to it. Its a great program and gets you way ahead of the game. It can be frustrating at some times because of the difference in normality, financial needs, peers, and the workload you may receive on some weeks.

The work load all depends on your professor and the classes you take for highschool. Certain professors give homework, others don't. But your highschool classes will. Which means one day you may have very little if any HW, but another you may be up to your neck in papers. Not to be discouraging, but procrastination is no longer an ally(if it ever was) if you take the program.

Though I have yet to take the ACTs, I'm sure its about the same as normal highschool ACTs. I wouldn't know why they would increase the level of difficulty just because you go to a college for high school.

I personally don't and do miss old friends. There are things I could still do in my original highschool, but I never have the time, even though I can drive. But other people take the program as well, so you also make new friends. In a way, its somewhat better to make friends in the program, because there is less peer pressure and drama.

Sometimes I wonder if its worth all my day to do all these classes I take over my highschool classes. But then I realize every time I think about just dropping out and going back to my original high school, that I'm having a great opportunity to get use to college life now and am able to get the basic classes out of the way now and focus on career, unlike staying in a normal high school. There, all you can take is AP classes, but they are harder than actual college classes...

Overall, I recommend it. Its a great opportunity you should not pass up. Even if it means not being able to see your normal friends at school. You make new friends and are able to see your old ones when your not in school. Its a challenge, but its all worth it.

What year did the impressionism era begin and end? I can't find it anywhere on the internet. Can someone find me a website or something?? Thanks!

I've gotten from:
1830-about1930
1874-1886
and stuff between there... Its obvious no one really knows when it started so you can either use wiki or try and average out a certain beginning and ending date.

i need some ideas for a school video project about 1 to 2 min long it can be about anything. something like a commercial is good but has to be funny

Try some sort of spoof of sublymonal advertising on a drink your school sells or something the school likes most or something. Watch TV for comercial ideas and watch madtv or SNL for comedy ideas.

Maybe just for kicks, do a Captain Morgan spoof and instead of "having a little captain in him/them/her" try "has a little (insert mascot here) in them"

Might actually work... otherwise try the TV advice

I know that determine you IQ you must take an IQ test, I get that part. A lot of people like telling me their IQs and I feel pretty dumb because I don't know mine, nor have I ever taken a test.

Is there any type of free online IQ test I can take? I've tried googling them but I haven't found what I'm looking for. Also, do these tests tell you what they average IQ is. Or, you know, what's good/bad/awesome/average, etc.? If not, how do you know?

I feel pretty lame asking this because I should be old enough to know all of this (17/f), but I don't. Anything is helpful.

To tell you the truth, an IQ test isn't the best thing to take. It usually has generalized questions that poeple believe other people should already know by common and general knowledge taught in schools. When, in fact, everyones mind thinks in its own unique way. Usually there is a subject that someones mind will overall perfect while in another it shuts down completely. So, in other words, its most likely better to check out test sites that test you in SPECIFIC subjects. Because trust me, even a person with a extremely high IQ can struggle in certain areas in which the brain can't seem to comprehend when its actually so simple.

Someone [my sorta kinda friend] asked me if I wanted to go smoke weed in the woods with him...I was with my other friend and she is a big flirt and is all like okay! [she didn't actually smoke anything, she was just playing around] but she walked off with him and I had said no. My kinda sorta friend was like, but you need a buddy to smoke with and I said, well I'm not that buddy. [I know the repructions of doing drugs and drinking and all that, so I declined on his offer knowing I could get hooked on it and throw my life away]
So then, my friend ditched me afterwards, not even telling me she had gone and didnt even say sorry the next day! She left me alone by myself, and i felt like a loser. How could my friend ditch me and say I'm uncool? Am I uncool because I don't want to do drugs? because I know I'm not uncool for doing that, so what's her problem? She always calls me emo and a downer, and I'm not even emo, I have friends that are "emo" but I'm not. what did I do to deserve this?? Any comments and answers would be greatly appreciated because I'm completley confused.
thanks in advance for whoever read that and took the time to answer my question.

Your friend fell for the false influence of drugs. Because your not going with the bandwagon shes on, your no longer cool to her. Its not something you deserved but a choice she made and your one of the few who have to suffer because of that decision. Your more than likely to see even less of her as time goes by, so unless you find a way to get to her and get her back to sobereity, shes most likely to disappear all together. But if you cant reach her, your going to have to let her go. Once shes on, she wont want off, and will resort to other things to get that affect back. So again, best thing to do is get her back to reality before you lose her completely...

I'm in high school, 15/f, a freshmen and it seems like everyone in my school besides me drinks and does drugs. I will NEVER drink or do drugs because it ruins your life...but at lunch one day, my friends were all talking about how they went to one of my friends house, let's call her A, and how A's mom was home and they still got away with drinking vodlka and beer and getting crunk together. Only one of my friends had a sip of vodkla and nothing else at the party but all of the sudden I was sooo mad. The day before the party, my friend who only had a sip of vodlka [lets call her F] was like, to A, "yeah, I'll have a drink, and I'll get close to drunk." and A was like, "F! I am sooooo proud of you! You don't know how proud I am of you that you are going to get drunkk!" and I got sooo mad at that I just bursted out and said to A, "Why is that something to be proud of?!" and A was like, "Because F swore off everything remotley related to drinking and drugs, so I am sooo proud of her that she even said that right now." and I was like, "well, I'm not going to drink and I'm not doing drugs." and everyone at the lunch table just looked at me except for my other friend, lets call her S, agreed with me. Then I didn't go to A's party and Monday I heard some pretty bad stories like of the people getting drunk and how they got it all on video...it like made me mad.
I'm mad, and I thought higher of my friends and now they all think I'm a loser, except for F and S, because I don't want to drink and do drugs. What should I do? any comments will be greatly appreciated and thanks ot all of you who read all of that because I know it was confusing and long.

First of all, get your friend who went in the wrong direction back in the right direction.
Second, stay who you are now, your on the right path. And if you remain on that path, others are more likely to follow.
And if you can, try to get others to realize the dangers if you can. Otherwise, try to find as many people who are just like you and stick with them, even if they can be a hassle or arent the kind of people you hang out with or whatever. As long as you can be with others who have the same thoughts as you, you are more likely to stay on that path.
And if it worries you so much about the others and their use of drugs and alcohol, try to get those people to quit or help those tat want to quit do so. Other than that, you should just treat them like they were normal people unless they are high, drunk, or doing drugs.

13/f
I'm in middle school, 8th grade, and I need a 6.0 to go to high school. My school is year round. So first trimester I had a 1.8 and now, 2nd trimester I had a 2.5. History is my worst subject and I have a plain F. Then in Science a D. And all the rest is A's and B's. I am really trying to keep my grades up and trying to get the rest of my grades to go up. I've been trying to study for tests but what I study is completely off. And I really don't know what to do. I talk to my teachers but I don't understand. My friend is helping me with the rest of my classes that she has with me but she doesn't have history and science with me. I am really in trouble and I don't know what to do, I can't let my grades go any lower. Any idea's what to do? And any studying tips? Thanks a whole lot!

Find a friend in that class and try to have them explain things to you. If you can, take lots of notes. Study as many general ideas you can get, but don't cram like some people. Find habits and ways that can get you to concentrate and memorize things with out having to add too much effort to them. Also, don't stress out when the test comes or even before the test. Take it slow and easy. Study what you've just learned that day. If you don't have that kind of time, set up a schedule you'll be able to follow. You should also try to take online quizzes and study guides as well as visit places or sites that keep your mind going. The more often you learn to think and memorize, the easier it will get. And if your friends are struggling too, try to set up study parties, and learn together while in the process having fun and hanging out with friends.
