Q: Hi, I'm 13 and... 5/6s? I'm turning 14 in November, and I'm going into 8th grade. My problem is, I've never liked wearing makeup or nice clothes before 7th grade. But in the middle of 7th grade, my attitude sort of changed drastically about how I care about how I look, and I started to look and feel a lot better. I always look back at pictures and think, "I must have been a really weird kid!" And, I'm not being judgmental about myself, I really was a weird kid. So, anyways, a couple days ago, I asked my mom if I could start wearing makeup. She said it was fine with her, as long as I didn't wear a lot, and she helped me pick out some stuff. So, I tried it on today, and it made me feel really, well, beautiful, and good. But, I'm starting to get nervous when I go back to school. I'll look and be so different... I don't want my friends to think I'm becoming a prep and dumping them, and I don't know how people will react. I KNOW I shouldn't care, but I'm naturally shy, and I'm just nervous and I don't like change. So, should I wait another year like my BFFs mom is making her do, or should I just man up (wrong word choice) and be brave? I don't know what to do! Please help!
Hey, look if you feel beautiful wearing make-up, I'm sure you're friends won't mind if you wear make-up. Think about it, only you're friends would care if you wear too much make-up that makes you look like clown. Wearing like really light eyeshadows, the ones that matches your skin tone, but makes your eyes glow would be perfect. If you like wearing eye liners, put them on close to your eyes, so they stand out and show how beautiful your eyes are. A little mascara would help too, so your eyelashes doesn't go down it stays up. Blushes would help stand out your cheek bones and give you a healthy glow. If you're not a fan of lipstacks, wear Smashbox lip glosses they are really cute and the shadings look like lipstick, but they aren't. Make sure you wash your face afterwards otherwise you'll start breaking out. I'm just trying to say is that, feel free to express yourself, if your friends don't like it, I guess they never were your friend were they? Good luck, hope this helps.

Q: ok im 13 f and i really want a new wardrobe because ive been starting to stop wearing hollister and aeropostel and start moving on to like forever 21 wet seal etc. so i really want more clothes but my mom thinks i have enough clothes but i really want newer clothes since mostly all my shirts say hollister and aero and stuff like that. but she still will say no but i really want to have a better style and not as boring especially for winter? what are some ways i can get her to get me newer clothes and go shopping??
If your mom thiinks and tells you that you have enough clothes to wear, why not sell them on Facebook, or put up posters about the shirts you want to get rid of. Make money out of it if your mom isn't willing to buy you new clothes. After all, you worked to earn the money after all. If you're interested in Forver 21 make sure you get some bright, not too flashy color clothes for the winter. If you want to start new for Christmas get a few red, or green T-shirts or get a red, or green tank tops to go with your Tee!! Good luck! :D
