I recently got a job at a grocery store. I need shoes. The shirt is blue, and then we wear black pants or khaki. Any ideas? It can't be clogs or high heals, and it must be white or brown. I'm a sixteen year old girl, by the way. Pictures would be great, as well as where I could get them. Thanks :) (link)

Just get some tennis shoes. Make sure they don't hurt your feet when you're walking on them, so walk around the store a few times before you commit to any certain pair.

17/f, and a Junior in high school.
This year for the junior prom, I'd really love to learn how to make a dress out of silver duct tape, just to have some fun with the whole experience. My date is a good male friend of mine, and we both think showing up in silver tape to prom would be amazing and a lot of fun.
So, my question is- is there any site or any guide I can follow on how exactly to make a dress like this? I mean I know the tape sticks to itself and not to your body, but I need to figure out how to get it to fit right and the like.
Also, if you have any suggestions as far as accessories go- things I can use for a corsage/buittoneire combo or something, I'd love to hear it. Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks! (link)
|
A friend of mine has made several duct tape dresses, so hopefully these ideas will be helpful to you.
What she does is get an inexpensive dress that is bigger than the size she would normally wear. The duct tape on the dress will make it smaller. She covers the entire dress with duct tape and then does whatever design she wants with tape of another color. You can order every color imaginable off of the Duct Tape website.
You could even go to a place like Goodwill or Salvation Army to find a dress to cover with tape. You can cut it in whatever way you want to get the desired look... and it's really inexpensive. Just make sure you have it drycleaned if you get it from a place like that. You never know who had it before you and if it was clean when it was brought in.

I like to wear skinny jeans. I LOVE them. The way I dress is labeled "scene/punk"...whatever.
My friends (3 of them) want to start wearing skinny jeans because they say I look good in them so they want to try them. I'm a size 5.
First of all..what are y'alls views on skinny jeans? (out of curiousity)
Do y'all think girls who are sizes 5,9, and 11 would look good in skinny jeans?
Oh and...I don't want them to look EXACTLY like me so what other shoes, besides converse or flats, would look good with skinny jeans? (link)
|
Personally, I don't like to wear skinny jeans because they make my hips and thighs look HUGE. They look really cute on smaller people, though. sizes 5 and 9 shouldn't have a problem looking good in them. Any type of flats look good with skinny jeans, but you could also try wearing some stiletto heels with them.
|
So here's a question you don't hear often...
I'm 19/F and I'm a large build... I'm only 5'7, but I'm a size 14 or so, 38DD. The problem is finding a style of clothes that fits me well... most clothes are designed for skinny people and then the size is just bumped up, and it's really frustrating! Button up shirts pucker, long sleeve shirts won't fit my arms...
I want to be able to dress my age without looking like I'm stuffed into my clothes.
Anybody have any suggestions for clothing styles that will flatter me? I'm not a plus size, either.
Thank you! (link)
|
I would suggest going to a store like Lane Bryant, Fashion Bug, or Torrid. Those stores have cute clothes that will fit people that aren't super skinny. I also suggest wearing a matching camisole under your button up shirts and then just leaving them unbuttoned. It looks just as nice as a button up shirt when buttoned, but it won't look like your chest is bulging out of your shirt.

For Homecoming, do you get a long dress or a shorter dress? Is it really fancy, like should I buy a facy dress? (link)
|
Homecoming is semi-formal, meaning that it's probably better to wear a shorter dress. Long dresses are more appropriate for Prom, and you'll probably look waaay overdressed if you wear a long one. You don't need anything fancy, just something that looks good on you.

is there a better way to put an image off the computer onto a shirt than ironing it on? (link)
|
You could either print out the image and take it to a professional printing shop or have someone airbrush the design onto the shirt. It wouldn't look exactly the same if it was airbrushed, but the effect would be pretty much the same. If it was professionally screenprinted, the design would look exactly the same as on the computer.

I'm aware that the new style is now 'skinny' jeans, but I think they are absolutely hideous. I refuse to wear them. My question is will I stick out in school this year? It seems like lots of people are switching to skinny jeans, and I'm sticking with my flares. Just tell me that truth, I need to know. Are flares still okay or is it all about skinny? (link)
|
You don't have to buy skinny jeans if you don't like how they look. What I reccomend is buying flare leg jeans whenever you can find them. Fads like this go in and out. You should just wear whatever you feel comfortable in and not worry about what everyone else is wearing or not wearing. Skinny jeans DO NOT look good on anyone who has even the slightest bit of extra weight on them, which means that most people probably won't buy them.

Everyone says American Eagle is the best store, but personally I hate it. All of their t-shirts are basically the same things with different words and colors. A lot of their clothes are really bad quality. I bought a cami from there once and I only wore it once and a HUGE hole ripped and I wasn't even running around or anything. It may be a little cheaper then Abercrombie & Fitch or Hollister, but atleast if you buy something from A&F or Hollister, you know the clothes are going to last. American Eagle's clothes arn't the most attractive things, and they look cheap. What do you think about AE? (link)
|
I think that most people shop at AE to say that they shop there. The clothes that they sell there generally do tend to be very low quality for the money that they charge for them. You could probably get something that's a lot cheaper and a lot nicer at Target. If you don't like their clothes you shouldn't shop there. Other people probably won't stop shopping there until some other store becomes "cool".

the plastic clip in the back of my bathing suit, that rests on my back, broke.is there any way i can fix it?can i maybe buy a new plastic clip, take the thread that holds the clip on, slip the new clip on, and re-sew it together?is it even possible to buy a new clip for it?and if so where can i buy it?
thanks so much! (link)
|
You can get new clips for your bathing suit at the fabric store. There are ususally about three or four sizes to choose from and they aren't usually very expensive (usually less than $5).

hey im 13/f
k i wanna know how to keep my clothes from not shrinking when i wash/dry them. i buy like cute clothes and then like a month later they begin to like get a little smaller and its not becuz im growin if u have anything tell me. (link)
|
You should wash your clothes in cold water and then let them hang dry. It takes a lot longer that way, but your clothes won't shrink. They should stay the same size as they were when you bought them.

tonight's my school's high school graduation and i'm going, because all my friends are seniors... i'm wondering, what am i suppose to wear? Can i like just wear jeans and a t-shirt (casual) or do i have to be semi-formal or what?? Does it matter since im only going to go watch my friends get their diplomas? (link)
|
It doesn't really matter what you wear because the ceremony's about the graduates.. not about the people out in the audience. If you feel comfortable wearing something that's a little more dressy, that would probably be more appropriate than jeans and tshirts. Don't worry too much about it, though. I'm sure your friends will appriciate that you came to graduation reguardless of what you're wearing.

2. no shorts
3. no tennis shoes

I would reccomend wearing a nice top, something like a button up blouse and some nice slacks or a skirt (assuming that you're a girl, of course). Target and Payless have cute shoes that you can get to match your outfit for a really reasonable price.
|
Hey!
I was wondering if anyone knows where to get airwalks, you know, the shoes like crocs only the holes are dimonds and they are less money. I googled it but I couldn't really find anything. Please help me becuse I really want those shoes! Thanks if you do help me though!

Payless sells the look-alike Crocs clogs for about fourteen dollars. They, like the Crocs have several colors of them. I know they have these for sure at some of the larger Payless stores, but some of the smallers ones might not have them.

hey. this seems like a sort of stupid question, but please, i need a opinion on an outfit for tommorow. 13.f
here's the plan :)
blue soffee shorts
red and white striped boys polo
gray tanktop underneathe
and boy nike shox
its actuallly really cute, but since two of the pieces are boy pieces, i just wanted to check. PLEASE! (link)
|
There's nothing wrong with the outfit you picked out. It does sound really cute. No one's going to know that your shirt or your shoes came from the boys' department when you have them on unless you go around and tell everyone about it. Most of the time, boys and girls shoes are made in the same colors and styles, so it's not a big deal. I buy shoes in the men's section all the time. Shirts are pretty much the same deal. As long as the shirt looks and feels good on you, it shouldn't matter.

does anyone know where i can definetly find jordana cosmetics? (link)
|
Walgreens carries that brand. I'm not sure of anywhere else, but I buy their eyeliner and that's the only place in town that sells it.
|
how can i buy or get makeup with out my parents knowing that i have it? (link)
|
You can buy it at the store when they're not with you, or send your friends to the store to get some for you. Getting the makeup is only half the battle, though. You can sneak it into the house with no problem at all, wearing it without your parents noticing it the real problem. I wouldn't reccomend trying it, though. You'll probably get in trouble.

I need some dressy pants for chorus and the concert is coming up in about 2 weeks. Where can I get some dressy pants cheap? I know Forever 21 has some but where else? (link)
|
You should try looking at places like Target or JcPenny for dress pants. They ususally have a good selection of cute dressy pants that aren't old lady-ish or really expensive.
|
dose anyone know where i could get a really cute dress for a 13 year old im not like big but im not small so idk where i should get on for a bar mitzah i want a dress thats like 20-40$. i want it to be reallllly cute or pretty or w.e

Go shopping tomorrow (the day after Thanksgiving) and go through all the clearance racks at the mall. That's the best way to find cute stuff at a really good price. Some of the stuff might be leftovers from last year, but it hasn't gone out of style yet. They ususally have the nicer dresses all in one section. My advice is to take everything you find that's appropriate for your age and in your size back to the dressing room. Try it all on because sometimes the stuff that looks stupid hanging up looks really cute on you.

I am an inspiring fashion designer. I'm curious to know are there any sites or computer prograams that i can go to or buy that would allow me to create my designs. It would be a big help! I rate high for good answers (link)
|
I don't know if this will help you or not because it's not exactly what you asked, but I wanna give this a shot...
First of all, I don't know of any computer programs that do this, but I would suggest going to a place like Staples or Best Buy and asking the person in the software department about it...
I think that the best way for you to create your designs is to actually do it. With real clothes, because that way you can wear what you create after it's done. I re-design a lot of my own clothing into something that's more fashionable. If you have any old clothes lying around that you don't wear anymore, start by using those to make something new, or go to the Salvation Army/Goodwill and buying some cheap things that you can create things with. Also, they STYLE channel has some cute ideas about how to make cute things... try watching that to get some ideas.

Well i am a grl and i like to wear boy clothes!!!
is that weird or normal? (link)
|
That's perfectly normal. I think every girl goes through a stage where they wear nothing but boys clothes. You'll either grow out of it eventually, or you won't. As long as you wear something, I don't see why it should matter.
