Im 14, and im 150 ilbs. I am not athletic at all, I can barely do a cartwheel. My dream has always been to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader. How can I start exerciseing and doing streches, where by the time im older to be one=].

Everyone tells me I'm GORGOUS. It's just my weight! And i I'm not Athletic.

I can't join a cheer team, because they use the best! It's so imbaressing. So whats hould ido at home, Im willing to do ALOT a day =]. & how much weight would I loose, and how fast?

im a very experienced cheerleader and my friend had the same problem!! she wats heavy 2! and she did no exersize wats so ever!! but she wanted to be a cheerleader at my school!! so wat was she to do?? she pulled it 2gether and went to the gym everyday!! i helped here learn tumbling, jumps, stunts, and now she is onee of the best cheerleaders on the squad!! but she only had the whole summer!! you have about 3 or 4 years!! i think you should go to the gym everyday 4 at least and hour and workout then get with someone to help you be more stretched and to learn different cheers jumps and stunts!! i know you can do it!!!! you just got to put your heart to the test!! do you think you can do it?!? w/b asap!! ok!!!!!!

Also, what do you think would be better... doing the Pop Warner team that I was on and go to competitions.. or trying out for my high school team next year.. you don't go to competitions on that one. For me, the competitions are so exciting and i love them but idk if it will be really boring if there are none?

um 4 me i like compotions 2 so if their rn't ne i think the heck with the other team! go 4 the 1 with compotions so u have more things 2 do!! w/b

Hey, I see that you have been doing cheer for a while, so I figured I would ask you this. Well, last year I did cheer for my midgets squad and I was really good but we didnt make it far in competition because we had just switched to intermediate and the judges said our whole routine was great and we would have won novice, but our stunts weren't intermediate enough. But anyways, next year I would be able to join cheerleading again, and I dont really know if I should or not. Almost all of my good friends aren't doing it because high school is going to start next year and we are going to be more busy. They keep saying I should do it anyways since I was really good. I think it would be really fun next year, but I would have no fun if I didn't have anyone to hang out with at practices and competition. I know I would be so angry and sad if I joined again and it was like torture for me because there was no one to hang out with... but I feel that if the midgets make it to Florida next year, I would be missing out on so much and really mad. What should I do? Thanks alotttt.

well i think you should tryout because you might be missing alot! you can always make more friends if you make the team!! just interact with others more!! Um; wednesday. in two days.

ok well in my recent tryouts we had to do a toetouch and a herkey so thats good!! this is how you do a toetuch:

Stand with some space in front and behind you. Avoid hitting anything that might cause injury.
Bend at the waist, keeping your legs straight, until you can relax and let your upper body hang down in front of you. This is a good start to let your back flex naturally and prepare for the actual excercise. This may be a good place to start.
Let your arms and hands hang down naturally.
Now, begin to stretch out your arms and try to touch your toes. Keep in balance and go slowly. Muscles do not react well to 'bouncing' motion, but rather slow, stretching motion.
When you are stretched as much as possible without serious pain, (touching or not), count at least to 5 seconds, if not 10 seconds. The longer the stretch, the more effective it will be.
Now, relax and let you body return to 'hanging'. Make sure you are breathing, and comfortable.
In order to return to standing position, flex your knees slightly, and put your hands on your knees. This will ease the pressure on your back, and allow you to stand back up without risk of injury.
Stand straight up with good posture and let your back relax and your muscles return to normal.
Repeat this cycle until your legs and back are slightly tired. The length and extent of your exercise will vary based on your level of fitness.
Slowly increase the amount and extent of toe touching as you are able.

is basically like a toe touchexept instead of 2 legs to each side 1 is 2 the side and the other is bent

Alright. So cheerleading tryouts are in a few days and I'm interested. There is a clinic tomorrow where I can learn the stuff to try out with. I haven't done cheerleading for 6 years. My question is; what can I do about nerves on the day of tryouts and how do I boost my confidence to feel like I'll make it? I really would like to make it. Thanks!

i think trying out is the best answer cause ull never no until you try thats wat my cheerleading coach always tells our squad soi think you should make plans with a friend whos also trying out and have her help you!! u have nothing to lose! w/b asap kk

how many years have you been doing cheerleading??

well in elementry skool in 2nd grade i wanted to do it and in 3rd frade i tryed out and made the team and every year of my life in skool from 3rd-now 9th grade i have been on my skool team and on a couple county teams and i have made it to nationals once in 7th grade!!
