My best friend and I are thinking of starting a babysitting business, since we're both certified in CPR and First Aid, and have taken a bunch of babysitting courses, too.
We were wondering how we could go about this.
Like what should we charge, should we baby-sit together, or on our own, how should we advertise, .etc.

I think you should put some fliers or something in your neighborhood. I think if it's just one little kid then one of you should baby-sit cause then if they pay little money you will have to split it with your friend if you both baby-sit. You could probably also ask your teachers to write recomendation letters saying how responsible you are and everything. That helps. You could charge like 5 an hour. Hope i helped.

so i babysit this six year old 3 times a week.
he lies to me all the time about what he can and can't do.
one day he told me something he could do and his mother got mad at me.
i can tell she really doesn't like me now, but she has no one else to babysit for her.
her and her husband both smoke a lot.
when i come home from her house i REEK of ciggarette smoke.
it's disgusting.
i have to scrub myself in the shower to make the smell go away.
but it's still stuck in my jacket, so i smell it everyday.
one day i had my boyfriend pick me up and he was gagging on the smell.
the mother and her husband are both getting new jobs and i'm also afraid i'm going to have later hours, which just can't happen.
it's already effecting my grades because i'm always so tired after.
i just don't know what to do.
i'm one of those people that feel guilty about everything too.

Well I think you should list the good and the bad thing about that job. The good thing is that you get paid butthe bad thing are that you smell like smoke, you get very tired,the kid lies and makes you get in trouble, and most important thing your lowering your grades. I mean I really don't think any job is worth all that. I bet you don't even get paid well. I think you should quit. I hope you make the right decision. Let me know how it goes.

You should reward them once in a while like if their good you can give them candy or something.
You can play with them or just do stuff that will make them have fun. Let me know if i helped

I'm fourteen years old, and I volunteer at the elementry school, with the after school children.
Lots of them seem really attached to me, but I'm worried they think of me more as there playmate... When I tell them to go stand in line, they won't listen to me, only the adults.
I want to be there friend, I love kids. But, I also need them to listen to me. :)

I think you should act just like the adults. You have to punish them and talk to them like any adult would. Don't let them answer you back or something. You have to stand up to them and let them know your the boss. I hope I helped. let me know please. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

I am 15 years old and I have 3 nephews and I have 2 neices and 1 on the way so I have babysitting experience my 1 nephue has special needs and needs meds and stuff so I can deal with that. I want to know if you guys think I am able to babysit and I think if people would hire me thank you. (link)

I definetly think they would hire you. Some people hire babysitters ages 13 so I think you could do it. You could even ask your teachers to make you letters of recomendation saying how responsible you are and everything. That would really help if you should it to them. Well to me you would be ready at age 13. I think that is old enough but for some people that is to young. Usually thy hire 15 year olds. Maybe it would help if your teachers made you letters of recomendation saying how responsible you are or something and then maybe they would hire you. Hope I helped . Let me know how it goes. I babysit 3 kids sometimes. The mom loves me, im serious. She buys me things, etc. But, what can I do to get the kids to like me. There are 2 girls and a boy. The boy is 7 and really into the army. The next oldest is a 4 year old. And the baby is 2, and boy does she act like a baby. If you tell her dont do something, like dont touch the lamp, she smile and pretend to touch it. Its funny, but after a while.... So, i am accepting any advice.

well maybe you should talk about the army with the kid that likes the army and you could play like games or something and if he wins you could buy him like those soldiers from the dollar store. Do something that the girls like also
