Hello Sunshine!
My name's Jamie..call me what you prefer.
I'm not here to judge, just to help people with their problems.
I love helping people out, it's one of the most satisfying feelings.
When you rate me, I'd prefer if you put a reasoning behind the rating, just so I know how I'm doing/how I can improve.
Feel free to leave me questions!
XOXO.
>> PS. If you plan on asking me a question, please, type grammatically correct and put punctuation marks where necessary...instead of like this: "muh boyfran lefff meh nD eye dunno waddado. halp?" (haha okay maybe that's a little exaggerated.. but you get my point!)
advice
Hey! So tomorrow is the 1st day of school and I'm going to be a sophomore. Now, I know I shouldn't be that scared because last year was the 1st year of high school. Trust me I was freaking out last year also. I'm going to the same school and all, but every year since 7th grade(middle school) I have freaked out about school. And it's basically about the classes. I get soooooo scared about how hard the classes are going to be, because some of my friends took them last year and they say the teachers are mean, and the homework and class is hard. And now every year, like I said since middle school, I have been freaking out. I'm a super perfectionest(??). Everything with me has to be "perfect" or else I freak out. I worry that if I don't get All A's and B's that I won't get into college, and my GPA won't be high enough. I'm not the smartest person ever, but I do get A's and B's. I suck at taking tests. Seriously. I get mainly F's and D's on tests, but what keeps my grades up is the homework, which I don't always do so hot on eaither. I just don't know what to do. I've tried telling myself that everything will be ok, and everyone goes though this and has to go through high school, but for some reason I just keep worring. I get sooo stresed out about things, and sometimes when I think about it too much I tend to get really hot. It's weird. Do I have a problem? And what should I do about school? I know, and I tell myself, that I was super scared last year and I did fine. But I just don't know what to do!!!! Is something wrong with me? I don't know what to do about homework, grades, and teachers eaither! Pleasee help me! Sorry this was so long! Thanks!
There is DEFINITELY not something wrong with you. There are a lot of people the way you are. You just want to do well, and that's a good thing..you have ambition.
-As for test taking, that's one of my weaknesses as well. If you don't understand something, stay after school, or ask a friend to tutor you. I know you probably would dread staying after school, but it most definitely helps out (a lot)! Don't begin to study the night before the test. Study a little bit every night leading up to the test. This will help you remember better. Also, I've found that studying for 20 minutes, then stopping, then studying again for another 20 minutes, (and repeating this cycle as many times that you feel you need to do) helps me remember things well. Make sure you keep your notes nice and neat, so that when you go back and look at them you don't get confused. Probably the most important rule: don't get too stressed out! Stress causes your body to release a chemical called cortisol, which can block your brain's ability to recall facts and memories. So, the most important thing is to stay calm and relaxed. Remember that if you don't do well on this test, it's not the end of the world. (For more test-taking tips check out this website: http://www.wikihow.com/Ace-a-Test)
-Make sure (especially in math) that if you don't understand the concept right away, stay after that day. You don't want to slip, because things like math are accumulative (meaning they build up), and if you don't get one thing, you'll end up falling behind...trust me, NOT a good idea! lol
-Go over your notes every night for at least 15 minutes. It sounds like something you won't want to do, but it's really a good idea so that you comprehend everything and don't fall behind.
You'll do great.
hope this helps, and if you have any other questions, feel free to leave something in my inbox.
GOOD LUCK THIS YEAR! :)
