advice
I have a project that I'm doing for class, basically its comparing my school to those other schools around America. I was curious if you guys could send in facts about your school such as its location (just state will be fine), dress code rules (especially if you have really random, strict ones!) number of dances/events a year, if cell phones/mp3s are allowed on campus, other positives/negatives about your school!
Thank you so much, I appreciate your help!
Seymour, Connecticut.
-No tank tops. They used to be easy on that rule, but they became more strict with it.
-Shorts/skirts have to be fingertip length. Again, gotten more strict this year, even giving kids ISS for it, or sending them home.
-Cellphones are aloud on campus, but can't be used in school. Some teachers don't care though, and kids don't listen.
-Water bottles not aloud, which sucks for athletes. They think people will sneak alcohol in.
-Bathrooms are locked during passing time (stupid, I know) and during classes have a teacher sitting outside collecting your pass to the bathroom. This is because a kid last year went to the bathroom and lit a paper on fire to set off the fire alarms. Now they are taking extra precautions.
-It depends on the teacher, but MP3's aren't usually aloud.
-No jackets are to be worn during school, I don't yet know why.
-Confederate flags are not to be worn/in lockers/in site on campus. Last year they went bulistic and went through everyone's lockers and suspended anyone wearing the flag. This year they told someone they needed to take their confederate flag stickers off of their car, or to not come to school. I think it is quite ridiculous. We are a hick town, so 80% of our school wear it.
-We don't have air conditioning/heating, only in the science wing and offices, not fair.
-Everyone is aloud to homecoming. We have a homecoming dance, a game, bonfire, concert, pasta dinner/volleyball game. Juniors get ring dance where they get their class rings, and prom. Seniors get Senior Semi, picnic, and other fun days.
-We are a "sports" school. Football is a big thing, and definitely Track.
-The cheerleaders in our school are not the most popular people.
