i've had limewire for a while and today i keep clicking on it to open it but it doesn't pop up on my computer. whats wrong? i turned off my firewall too.

Limewire and many other programs use java, a programming language. You need to have Java Runtime Environment installed on your computer to use java applications like limewire. It sounds to me like java isn't working properly, or it was never installed(or was uninstalled inadvertently)

If you or someone else never installed java, download and install it here:
http://java.com

If you previously installed java, reinstall it. Do this by going to start>run. Type:

appwiz.cpl

Find "Java SE runtime environment", and any updates for it, and click remove. If it asks you to restart your computer, do it. Then install java from:
http://java.com
To be safe, reinstall limewire(uninstall from appwiz.cpl and download and install from limewire.com). I'm pretty sure this will fix it. If it doesn't, you can do as the person below me says and use a different application. Here's a list of applications that use the same network(and so can download the same exact files):
