About Daimeera

Hello there!
I'm a 21 year old female from Nova Scotia, Canada. I'm not as active on this site as I once was, but I will almost certainly reply to private questions sent to me.
Let's see, about me. I've been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia Syndrome, Clinical Depression, as well as some other related mental and physical illnesses. Despite this, I'm happier now than I can ever remember being.
I've been a vegan since August 2007. In other words, I do my best not to consume anything of animal origin, ranging from the obvious (meat), to the somewhat obvious (eggs and dairy), to the not-so-obvious (honey, wool, silk, and more). I love this life. I have so much more appreciation for everything and everyone around me, and I feel so at peace with myself and the world. I wake up everyday and know that I'm making a difference. It's been a huge turning point in my life.
I recently graduated from high school after an extra three years due to my illness. It was a long road, but it felt amazing to walk across that stage. An added bonus was having the 15th highest average (over my high school career) out of 258 students!
I intend to pursue a career in psychology, first obtaining my BA, and then attending graduate school in order to study for my PhD. It's a little daunting at times, but I know it will be worth it. I want to help people, plain and simple. I want to make a difference. I want to change the world. And I believe I can, if only in a small way.
I think that's me in a nutshell. I also enjoy writing, knitting, multiple other artistic endeavors (including drawing, photography, music, and more), web design, and many other things. So, feel free to drop me a message if you think there's something I can help with.
Psst, guess what? I, like everyone else, have my very own message board! You can visit it here.

Hi. I'm 13/f. I am a very unhealthy eater and am not active what-so-ever. I am very skinny, just not in shape. I am 5'3'' & weigh about 95 lbs. I am not worried about my weight or anything, just am worried about my health.
This is where you come in.
I need a plan.
I need some breakfast ideas, lunch Ideas
& for dinner, I have no control, but its usually home-cooked & healthy so I should be okay with that.
I need some exersizes also. I am going to try and start running once around my block 3 times a week [my block is small, but I will increase the distance gradually]. I will also TRY and do 30 situps a night. ANY OTHER IDEAS?
Thanks so much in advance.
First of all, let me say that it's incredibly refreshing to hear a weight/exercise question from someone purely concerned about their health. Good for you for that.
You might want to consult a nutritionist when it comes to your food intake. You're underweight which could be because of your age, or it could be caused by something else. A nutritionist could assess this, as well as giving you healthy food ideas.
If that's not an option, there are many, many sites that will tell you approximately what you should be eating. Canada's food guide might give you a bit of a start:

Exercise wise, anything that gets you moving is good for you. Cardio (running, walking, etc.) is excellent. Weights can be good but aren't necessary. Are there any sports you enjoy? Badminton, swimming, volleyball, skiing (I don't know where you live), or even something unconventional like juggling? If you like what you're doing, you're more likely to be able to stick to it.
If you're really out of shape, you might want to start by walking around the block, or running half and walking the other half--don't push yourself too hard or you'll crash and hurt your body. Slow with gradual increases (which is what you seem to have in mind) is the best way to avoid injury and have a better chance at sticking to it.
It's great to see you being responsible about this--I can't say that enough. Good luck!
