i don't want to hear any more complaints. how can i just convince my mother that he's a great guy????????????????

Exactly I agree with younggrandma below,
You cant convince your mom, she has to see for herself. But let me tell you, mothers usually have very good instincts we just dont want to see it, because we are stubborn by nature about that type of thing.
Ask her why she complains about him, and what exactly it is that she cant stand about him.
Listen to what she says, she may know something about him that you dont know! :]
