My parents have been smoking since they were teenagers. I'm just curious if everyone who smokes has a really high risk of getting lung cancer? It's not common in my family and I'm worried that my parents will get it.
theres a good chance that your parents may get lung cancer. But since your parents have been smoking since they were teenagers it would probly be really hard for them to quit.
I got this from the website that im going to give you.
---One other risk factor that researchers are looking at is a genetic predisposition to lung cancer. While we know that a family history of lung cancer is a factor in who gets lung cancer and who does not, “We have not identified the gene yet,” Dr. Martins says. “But obviously, some people smoke all their lives and don’t get lung cancer.”---
