Q: Im considering going to sleep away camp for my first time. Im 14 & Female. Its a boy/girl camp and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me everything I need to know about going to an overnight camp. Its in 10 days so Im nervous. Do camps let you use cell phones? And also, I straighten my hair every day..what about that? Also, any advice on how to meet friends? What is important to bring or ABSOLUTELY essential to bring? Ill take ANY advice about going away. :] thanks!

i was nervous the 1st time i went to my camp too! i go to this camp called lakeshore and i absolutely love it! i think you\'ll love the experience of camp cause it is a get away from home and you are always busy and you leave with so many new memories and friends. anyways, most camps will say not to bring cell phones but everyone does anyways! i also straighten my hair and if the camp youre going to has electrical plugs in the cabin, you can straighten it there anytime you want!! thats what i do! as for meeting friends...meeting friends at camp actually comes very naturally! once you get there and meet the girls in your cabin, the counselors will have everyone talk and introduce themselves..and usually everyones so friendly that the whole cabin just kinda clicks and has a great time together! and when youre walking around the camp..you can just approach people and smile and be friendly and most likely you\'ll meet alot of people, cause that makes camp as great as it is! its normal to be nervous..but going to camp is always amazing and once you get there you\'ll feel comfortable and ready to have fun. the person below me already explained what to bring. i suggest bringing your ipod if you have one..it makes cabin-time funner! k wow long answer hope i helped!
