I am getting an MRI scan soon for my head (jaw). Would I have to take out a belly button barbel? It's some type of surgical metal I don't quite remember what type. Is there anyway I can keep it in? I have had the piercing for a couple of months but I still have a month to go before I can take it out or change it and I really don't want to mess with it.

Im not quite sure if it will be nessesary to take it out but I work as an assistant to my father in the local hospital. Since the MRI is a large and powerful magnet, metal can sometimes ruin the picture scan that comes out. All you have to do is ask the docter before you go in. Hope your MRI goes successfully. o0o0o and i little tip- its real loud, so bring ear-plugs and ask to put on ear mufflers when you get they(they have them there) Hope my advice was helpful to you!
