today i let the dog out to chain it up and it ran out of my yard and down the street and i tried to catch it but before i could it ran out in the street and it got hit, and hes hurt and i don't think hes going to make it. And i feel like its all my fault! i don't know what to do i feel so bad. and now i feel bad that i didn't go to the vet with my mom and my brother, but i just couldn't go cause i feel so bad. what do i do?
All I can say is, things happen. I've never had a dog get hit by a car but I've owned many dogs (currently own 3 inside dogs) and have had many die.
It's natural for you to blame yourself, but you just need to remember that's not your fault. Dogs run away, mine ran away the other day, but didn't get hit. My preacher said there's something in the Bible about God in heaven with all of the animals, so if you're Christian you can look forward to that.
You also don't need to feel bad about not going to the vet. You already feel bad enough as it is, and the only thing you can do is pray and remember the good memories. Hopefully your dog will be ok.
