My boyfriend and I have been dating 3 months. We both have decided that we're not going to throw around the word 'love'. Seeing as most 14 year old couples do. So this is what we do..
When we do say i love you, we agreed we should only say it when we feel the moment is suitable, but we both know that when we say it we mean 'like is too small of a word, but love might be too strong of a word'
Other times we just say like 'I like you a whole lot', but we both know it's not just a normal 'crush' kinda of like.
Do you understand what I mean?
Does anyone think this is a stupid way of going about things?
I applaud you on your rationality. You understand that what you are feeling is strong, yet you don't want to rush into love if your not ready. Bravo. You are not dumb, and if fact you are quite the opposite when it comes to this question. Being someone who has still never said "I love you" to any guy I have ever dated, I should know how to avoid that word. Try I adore you. That says alot with out saying it all.
