hey, well see there is this guy...and he's really sweet to me on IM. then my friend tried to set us up. like she told him to get to know me, is what i really mean. and then he told her that i sound cool, but he wouldn't talk to me. i still wanna get to know this guy but how can i do that if he won't talk to me?

Well, you could keep trying, be casual about it, set up a get together with a bunch of people and try talking to him there. If he's just plain not interested, there's nothing to be done. Hope it works out.
