I'm not sure what to give my 1 year old child for breakfast. He is allergic to eggs and I don't think those baby jar foods of mixed cereal and oatmeal fill him up that much. Anyone have any ideas??
Yogurt is great, and our year 15 month year old loves it. There are a few brands that make whole milk yogurt for babies. We like Stonybrook Farms and the ones with Winnie the Pooh on them, but as long as it's made with whole milk it should be ok.
Before he was able to eat fruit in chunks, we used to get the pureed baby food jars of fruit and mix them with the oatmeal, rice, or mixed cereal till they were a thick paste. He seemed to prefer them thicker.
You can also make oatmeal and mix in chunks of fruit. He's probably got a few teeth, so he can start working on dry cereals that don't contain egg.
If he's a meat eater, sausage is a good finger food. We microwave it so it doesn't get crunchy on the outside.
There are egg free breads available (you may have to go to a "health food" store to find them) to make toast.
There are also egg free pancake and waffle mixes available, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to go to a health food store to find those. One thing I've heard of people doing, but haven't tried myself, is making a batch of pancakes or waffles and then freezing them in ziplock freezer bags so that they are easily available on weekday mornings before coffee. :)
Oh, a note on labels. "Vegitarian" may contain eggs. "Vegan" does not. "Parve" also may contain eggs.
Good luck on your quest for egg free foods.
