My name is alix. I'm fourteen &i live just moved to massachusets. i love all of my closer friends; theyre my life. i like cats, and my favorite food is soanish rice. i like going to the movies with all my friends; we do it every friday. it's a routine. i love giving advice about guys, but what i really love are questions from guys about girls. im really opinionated, but im usually not very harsh when i answer things. advice

hey i know hollister has sales on clothes sometimes.but i was on their website and saw a lot of nice stuff on the clearance i was wondering if anyone was at the store reccently and saw a lot of stuff on sale because i dont want to order it all online and it might not fit..thanks a lot
All the stores are kinda-different in their sales, just to let you know.
But at my hollister, they didnt really have anything on sale at all.
But with hollister clothes, all the tops fit pretty much the same, and the skirts do too. The only thing id be worried about buying online is denim shorts or pants.
where do you guys live and how old are you that wedges are popular? i mean i think there cute, but if any one wore those to school where I live, they'd be consideredd kinda weird?

Im from new york, and im 14. and wedges arent really popular yet. but people still wear them. my school is really fashion forward, so you can wear whatever as long as it looks good.
i live in the USA and my friends are going to europe for 8 days starting tomorrow. if they take their cell phones, will they still work? would they get reception?

alright so i want to give myself a make over.
i got my eyebrows waxed. i gave myself a pedicure and manicure. i went to target and got facail masks. and now i dont know what else to do. im thinking about tanning beds because im really really pale and like. i look SOO much better when im tan. i never went tanning before... in a tanning bed ha. dont even suggest dying my hair because its not ganna happen. haha =] serousily tho. ha. ummm... i dont really know anything else to do. like my make up i like the natural look.. my clothes. there like hollister type of clothing. i just want to look diffrent over this week.
please any advice or tips tell me.

Get a haircut. you can get side bangs or straight across bangs; theyre really cute.
and when you wear your clothes, do something different. wear a killer belt, or earrings. just make your outfits look unexpected.
get a peel off mask. they look great after you do them. plus, you can get them at a drug store or anything.
and ps, i hateee to tell people not to do things, but tanning beds arent healthy. i'd get a spray tan. they work just as well. in the last issue of seventeen, they showed how a few different spray tans came out, and how much they costed. look at those to choose.

We were sitting across the table from each other in science class. He calls my best friend over(his good friend too) and tells me he's going to steal her headband. When she comes over, I let her know, and she leaves. He kicks me under the table (not too hard, not like he was trying to hurt me) and says, Oh, sorry, is that your leg? and keeps on doing it. I kick back playfully, and he starts moaning that I hurt him, but smiling the whole time. It seemed pretty flirty to me, especially since we were kind of flirting the rest of the class.
Totally different, but this is about the same guy. Today, after all the fun yesterday, he barely is fun, but kept talking to me about his ex. Is he trying to make me jealous, or is he genuinely just not ready for me as more than a friend yet?

For the first part: He was definitely flirting! There is no doubt about it.
For the second part- it depends.
Was he complaining about her? If he was, then he is saying that he wants someone better- you? If he was saying bad things then it doesn't mean anything at all.
Was he saying things like, "I miss when we did that," or "I don't know why she did that," or "We used to have a lot of fun"? If he was, then he feels like he can talk to you about deeper things. He might have wanted comfort or advice, or your feedback. He could still be getting over her, or he could be saying that he just wants to be deep with you. He thinks of you as more than just the kind of girl that he'd have a short fling with- also the kind that he could really have a connection with. Or, he could think of you as a friend that he could really connect with- but nothing more. Chances are, it's the first one, though.
Was he pointing out good things about her, and talking about how great she was, but not seeming really upset? If he was, then he was trying to make you jealous.
Did he seem like he was having trouble getting over her? If he was, then he's not ready for anyone else yet. (I'm going to assume you like him, otherwise the rest is irrelevant.) If he asks you out before he seems like he truly is over her, then chances are you're just a rebound girl. Don't say yes. Wait until he's fully over her. Rebound relationships never work out, and you'll get too hurt. But when he's over her, then he'll probably still like you. Waiting would definitely be worth it. It would work out much better.

So, at my school we have a TON of international kids[most are from Asia]. Well, there is this one guy(he is Korean) that has had my eye for a while now. We make eye contact often and at morning meeting thing [our form of school announcments] he always sits next to me. I've never talked to him before, but I want to start. The only problem is, is that he isn't very good with English and I only see him hanging around with the other Asians at school. You sound absolutely gorgeous. I happen to think that people who are half or 3/4ths asian are always great looking, just so you know.
Guys who are in middle school and still immature will want slutty girls, and might go for ditsy ones, but not anymore. They might care if youre pretty or not, but not nearly as much as younger guys. They hate sluts and ditsy girls, and girls who flirt toooo much. They'll like someone who can make them laugh, someone who is confident, someone who's not a pushover, and someone who is kind of nice.
And you said you get nervoous easily. most guys find that reallly cute. As long as it's not completely over the top, they like nervousness. It makes them think that youre down to earth, and its cute.

Maybe, you can't tell. Bisexuality isn't just about physical attraction. If you like him in a romantic way, or any other guy in a romantic way, and you also like girls like that, then you know that you are bisexual. You don't need to have sex to know. I'm sure that even just hooking up with one could tell you. But not always, because you know how sometimes you hook up with someone of the opposite sex and you hate it?
But having sex with another guy could make people think that you are bisexual, so I wouldn't do it if I didn't want to go through that.

Just tell him that you're there if he needs to talk, but mostly leave him alone. Sit with him, and maybe wrap an arm around him, but don't talk to him too much. If he finally starts to open up, LISTEN. Don't tell him you know how he feels or anything, and don't try to make him feel better. Just let him be upset, and be his shoulder to cry on.

Dont write a note.
Be like, hey, back a few times. Then, maybe compliment him once. Just be like, "hey cute shirt" or something. But immediately after, just kinda walk away, like you dont really care what he says back. the key is to make him want to want more of you. if you offer it all up front, it wont seem so tempting to him.
After you've casually talked to him in the hall a few times, then you should try to take it one level further. If you have any classes with him, thats always good. If you need to do a group project, offer to do it with him. Ask him after class if there was homework(but casually, not like youre a nerd or anything. just like, 'hey kyle.. we have any english homework?'
you have to come off as someone thats pretty cool. play hard to get a little, but not tooo much.
kind of slowly get to talk to him more and more, and then really talk to him between classes or some times.

I think there are 2 things.
1. You should kiss her. It's hard for a girl to put themselves out there like that, and they don't want a guy that won't be able to show them how they feel. She'll want a guy who can kiss her.
2. If you absolutely must have her go first, then make it really clear that you want her to. Be overly flirty, touch her arms, smile at her a lot. (Not toooo much that could get a tiny bit creepy.) But try and get her to know that you want her to. Then, set up a good opportunity. Be like, "hey, i want to go grab a drink, come with me?" or something. get you two alone, and make sure she knows you want to. Hold her hands, or hug her.

Hey. I'm really stressed. I think the "emo" stuff and the "prep" stuff is both really pretty. I have cut myself before, if that's what you want to call it. They didn't even bleed and honestly, I don't plan on making them. I like the way the "preps" dress but also the way the "emos" dress. I'm blonde and I have fair skin so I don't know how good I would look with a lot of eye makeup and stuff like that, but I really really like it. Also, I'm worried that I might lose some friends. I know my friends are supposed to love me for me, and I think they will, but I think that we may not be as close. What should I do??

Hey, just letting you know right off the bat, anyone who's really emo hates to be labeled as that, and if you dress emo but aren't really, then you'll be labeled poser.
With that said, it's really your choice. You can go emo if you really want, but honestly, i hate to be rude but I think you'll be a poser. I'd stay prep unless you really felt like you shouldn't be.
Another thing you could do is kinda combine the two. Still be preppy, but maybe tone it down a little, and wear an emo sweatshirt something.
so latly i've been feeling like there really isn't any reason to live life and keep on living... i don't know why but i'm just depressed and don't really know what to do about it. i haven't changed anything, i've just been living life... but the longer i do the more i feel like it's just kind of pointless.... so what do i do? what can i do?
You said that you haven't changed anything... try to. I don't mean change the world, but you can change a person's life. One thing that you could do would be to befriend a person that doesn't have any. Have you seen the Rachel's Challenge thing? We had an assembly at our school, and it was about the life of a girl called Rachel Scott who was killed in the Colombine shootings. One thing that she did was become friends with a boy who had a mental disability, and was constantly picked on. The boy was contemplating suicide before, and Rachel's friendship gave him something to live for. My point is, a friend can really save a life. So be one. It really will be worth it.
Also, you should do what the other person said. Live life to it's fullest. Go on a roadtrip, bungee jump, whatever. Do something that you've always wanted to do. Or, make sure you do something cool like that once a month. It will give you something to look forward to.
Think of someone you really look up to. Maybe its an older sibling or something. Someone who sets an example for you; someone who you wish you could be like. Chances are, whether or not you know it, there's someone who looks up to you like that. And they'd listen to what you say, so make them end up being a good person. I don't know if you have a younger sibling or not, but I'm going to use that as an example. Would you really want them to turn out with lots of problems? Being a druggie, or involved with really bad people? You're the person that can keep them away from all that. You're the person who will really affect what happens to them.
And think about the people that love you. Your family, friends, maybe a boyfriend. Aren't these people worth living for?
You said that you weren't really sure what the point of living was. I believe that we live for eachother. We live to help eachother, and receive help in return. We're supposed to make the world a better place for our children and the generations that follow.
