okay so basically this is what happend ... Yesterday I was working and my "best friend" came into my work and was like "DO YOU WANNA GO TO THE MOVIES WITH ME AND HAL**" and so i was like "YEAH! what movie??" and she said "Undiscovered because i know you really wanna see it" ... okay so she said the movie was @ 7:20 .. so i told her i would call her when i got home from work (i got off @ 7) but to look @ a later movie time. So i got out of work and i called her cellphone .. she didnt answer. and then i called her house and her mom said she wasent home so i called her cell again and our friend Lauren picked up and i was liek HEYY where are you guys? and she said "On the expressway." so i was like "oh well tell Kim** that i was allowed to go but nvm" and she was like "casey wanted to goo!" and i was like "No, I was allowed .. Kim* invited me." and the next thing i heard was "YOU LEFT HER??" and then nothing?? doesnt it seem pretty weird?? and also the pure fact that when i hung up she didnt call me back .. and she still hasent when she tells me "I can tell you anything your such a true friend" blah blah blah .. and ive known her since i was about 7-8 and i dont even know whats up with her? what should i do/say? in my opinion this is what happened. the other friend didnt like you and told the friend that invited you that you arent going becouse of some obsene reason. The person that invited you got very pissed and emberased and was ither afraid or somehting to call you back.
i think you should just talk to the girl that picked up the phone and ask her what her deal is

hey i did what you told me to .. go to run and type in regedit.. well when i clicked on HKY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRANT VERSION/RUN
there was only one thing witch said Name: (Default) ..Type:REG_SZ ..Data: (value not set)
i clicked on the others and they were almost the same.. should i still delete them?> (link)

that is physicaly imposible, the "run" folder holds everything your computer boots up when you start it meaning that it cant be empty.
the only posibility is that you arent using the administrative account on your pc.
ask if you still need help
oo ya, no point deleting the defoult as its there just to give a alue to the folder so it wont be empty

i got this whole set that helps me very good its called "PeterThomasRoth" yes yes i know the name sounds corny but it really helps. not sure what ur budget here is but the set costs about 350 but lasts 6 months

althou many websites dont use html anymore but beginers do.
nowdays webmsaters mix cgi scripts with php flash and databasing like MySQL and such

When I start up I get the message "This computer is in use and has been locked" "Only pc-01/(my name) or an administrator can unlock the computer" Then get a screen with user name ( mine filled in) and below password (is blank)
If I click on ok it all opens up but am unable to open existing files in word etc. They are all marked "unavailable"
Do not know how I have done this but need to get thus sorted. Any help appreciated (link)

try solving it this way
restart your computer in safe mode
log in as the administrator no password is needed
go to the account manager and change the passwords to what you know
restart your computer in normal mode and change what ever you like.

okay i have a stupid virus on my computer!! do you know how to make my computer go back to the day before it happend because i just fixed everything and my brother went online and the virus is BACK after a week of being gone. Im so mad and i really really need someones help!!!! (link)

unlike these amaturs who posted before me and suggested using system restore which doesnt really delete the virus and in most computers requares the cd's i recomand you do this
firest of all scan your computer for viruses with a free program (which most likely wont delete it)
www.downlaods.com has pleanty, i recomand registry doctor
then enter your registry
START>RUN>(type in) regedit
HKY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRANT VERSION/RUN
and delete the file anme that the program wasnt able to delete
THEN
HKY_CURRANT_USER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRANT VERSION/RUN
but it may not be in this folder, it all depends on how your computer is set up.

REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE YOU MESS AROUND WITH IT BECOUSE IT MAY COUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO YOUR MACHINE

i recently purchased a USB stick memory card and it isnt working. i put it into my usb port as it instructs but nothing happened, it ried my otehr open ports still nothing, i tried my digital camera and it worked fine, so teh problem isnt the port. ive also tried installing the software it says is needed for older computers, even though mine is pretty new, with windows XP. anyone know waht could be wrong and a way to fix it? on some computers and some devises nothing will happen but plug it in and open "my computer" you should see a new icon there its ither a new hardrive or an external devise which you use as a folder

ok with ebay you havto make sure that you read everything carefully, in some cases the sellers will claim something like "all machines arent tested" which makes you automaticaly doubt that most of em even work. and just so u know there is no way to give items back 101
one more advise is that if you want something badly you have to wait untill the last 30 seconds of the auction then bid on it
ALWAYS AND I MEAN ALWAYS buy buyers protection just in case you pay and never get the items

ok what you got there is a trojan
go to your registry
START>RUN> (type in) regedit
HKY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRANT VERSION/RUN
delete the file name that resembles the one apearing or something that looks fishy.
THEN
HKY_CURRANT_USER>SOFTWARE>MICROSOFT>WINDOWS>CURRANT VERSION/RUN
delete the file name that resembles the one apearing or something that looks fishy.
KEEP IN MIND THAT BY DELETING THINGS FROM YOUR REGISTRY MAY PERMANANTLY DAMAGE YOUR COMPUTER SO MAKE SURE TO SAVE IT BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY CHANGES

in the back of your computer there are different round ports with different collors
the green are for the speakers
pink are for the mic

Alright so the start menu/task bar/ thing on my computer used to run along the bottom...but my friend did something (she doesn't know what) so now it is running vertically along the right side. If you know how to reverse this so it is at the bottom again i would really appreciate it. I'll rate 5's for anyone who can give me directions on changing it. (link)

just take the icon and drag it onto the botom of the screan, all the way down there the screan ends
this should create an open folder for you or any part of the screan you drag it to

OK, now to my question.
My dad and myself have been in a constant battle of the wits for a few years with computers. See, he used to be the only person who knew about the internet, installing, upgrades, and those kinds of things. He has always been the master of programming, as it was his job (Before the promotion), but not in computer skills.
Anyways, I developed by growing up with the computer until I started becoming equivalents with him in computer skills. I am now a bit more proficient than he is, and usually outwit him.
We have battles of wits now with the computer. He hates it when I go online when he is away, and has many checks to see that I don't. But, I have found ways to maneuver around all of them. He kind of realises it, even though there is no evident proof. So, he has begun to try to prevent me from going on at all. He tried before, but has failed, as he turned off the cable modem and I just turned it right back on. He thought I wouldn't think of it.
But, here's the problem. Recently, I was completely shut off because, well, he outwitted me. We have a cable modem and a router that goes to 3 seperate computers. Cablevision. Their power comes from a light switch that was definately on. All cords from the router were in.
If somebody could tell me how he possibly did it, I'd definately rate a 5. It is not involved with the connection of the cord to the computer, but from something before. (link)

lolz i had that question asked of me already and it helped a friend of mine
since your router has 3 computers connected to it that means that there are 3 different ips passing throu it and one is being blocked
open up your webbrower and acces your router from there
just type in the defoult router ip 192.168.1.1 and play around with the settings and see what is blocked and if you run into passwords just reset your router with a pen to the defoulds which are
username:admin or administrator
password:password
if you have a westel type router i can even guide you throu the whole proses

Right. my computer keeps turning off and resetting for no reason. Sometimes I get a message that says "out of range" and once I got a black screen full of green blobs. Ive done a virus scan, but it came up as nothing, what the hell is going on? (link)

most likely the graphix card or the drivers.
you may wona try rebooting your computer and when the logo pops up try presing ither F8 or F2 depending on the system you got untill you see a black screen with a boot menu.
try running at "last known configuration that worked"

if you know where you instaled limewire then this wil help you but if you have no idea where it is then its pointless
do the following
START>RUN> (type in) regedit
HKY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE(where you instaled it and delete the folder)
then while still in the registry
HKEY_CURRANT_USER>SOFTWARE>(where you instaled it and delete the folder)
try not to mess around with the registry if you dont know what your doing becouze it can really mess up ur comp

i am trying to uplaod a pic and it keeps saying "You tried to upload a picture, but it was greater than 15K in filesize so it wasn't uploaded." and so i keep going in paint and sketching and skewing and its the size of an AIM icon and it still wont work!! Someone helP!!

perhaps you should try saving it into a different format, such as GIFF which takes the elast space
you can also try making the image iutself smaller in size
