I've known this guy since I was three and we have been dating since I was 15. we are totally in love. but, we havent had sex yet and I'm 21!!! Is there something wrong with me? (link)
|
Hiya,
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that at all!
Just because you have been together a long time and are in love doesn't mean you HAVE to have sex!
If you feel ready to take that next step in your relationship then discuss things with your partner and see what he thinks.
Don't feel pressurised to have sex just because everyone else is. I think you are really lucky, you are with a man you love who loves you - you obviously trust him so I'm sure that your first time together - whenever it is - will be something far more memorable and special than a lot of girls who come on this site!
Just take things in your own time! No one ever said "At the age of 21 you are no longer allowed ot be a virgin!" Ths goes for your guy too.
Do it when you are both comfortable to, don't do it because you feel you must!
Take Care!

I never payed any attention when my schoool nurse talked to us about it. can you answer this please? are we supposed to bleed ALL the time? i thought you only bled on a cycle or something.
i rate high (link)
|
Hi there,
No you are not supposed to bleed ALL the time.
Most women have a cycle of between 26 and 30 days and at the end of that cycle they normally bleed from between 3 and 7 days dpending on the person.
If you have only just started your periods, don't worry it's probably just your body trying to regulate itself and get into a cycle so some months you may have 2 periods and other months you may not have one at all.
I would reccommend though that if you have been bleeding continuously for more than 7 days to speak to you Mom and get an appointment with a gynae just to get checked out. It's probably nothing at all to worry about but best to check!
Take Care

Everyone tells me that glow in the dark tampons are a bad idea. Am I the only one that thinks I could make millions off of it? (link)
|
ROTFPMPL!
I think glow in the dark tampons are a cracking idea!
There are so many other things you could do with them!
1) If you have a powercut and have run out of candles just whip out a box glow-in-the-dark tampons and you're sorted!
2) It's your friends birthday and you've made him/her a cake and run out of cake candles you could swith off the light and use your tampons!
3) If you were stranded in an emergency liferaft in the middle of the ocean you could wave a tempon above your head to signal for help!
4) You could get all your mates round and play miniature glow-in-the-dark ten-pinbowling with the lights off!
5) If you were a fisherman you could attach one to the end of your rod whilst night-fishing to signal when a fish has been hooked!
NOt only could you make a fortune selling these wonderful creations but I could write a 1001 things to do with your glow-in-the-dark tampons book and get rich too!!
HAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
I'm really sorry, don't know WHAT came over me there, if you check my column you will see that I don't normally reply with sarcastic comments but it's late where I live and your question has made me nearly cry with laughter! Thanks for brightening my day - and for what it's worth I don't think it's too bad an idea!

I recently babysat for one of my husband's coworkers for a few days. After seeing a few warning signs, I'm beginning to think that the children are not being taken care of and that she may be abusing them.
This woman brings the children out in freezing weather with no jackets. She drops them off with no supplies. The children don't appear to have been bathed. They have severe, untreated diaper rash which leads me to think they're not being changed like they should. I've also noticed bruises on one of the children. It could be from bumping something, but from the look of the bruises I suspect the child was hit. When I feed them, they act like they haven't been fed in a while.
I've tried talking to her, but she told me it was none of my business. I'm worried what might happen if I don't do something. Should I call social services and report my suspicions? (link)
|
Hi there,
If I were in your situation I would DEFINITELY get social services/authorities involved.
They don't need to know that it is you that reported them so if you are wrong they need never know.
If you are right then these children will stand a fighting chance of having a better upbringing and will get away from the abuse that they may be on the recieving end of.
Please, please notify someone! These chidren are not in a position to help themselves which is where you need to step in.
Good luck!

Well my teeth weren't that messed up in the first place but I got braces anyway to fix 2 kinda crooked teeth...anyway I'm getting my braces off in 1 week and to tell you the truth, I don't see much difference..when i look at my teeth (tilting my head up in the mirror..haha) they're still not PERFECTLY straight! should I tell my ortho or what should I do? I'm not pleased..and the thing that I wanted to fix in the first place..never got fixed! someone please help! (link)
|
Hi there,
As with anything that you pay for if you aren't happy with it then complain!
It's not just a pair of shoes were talking about these are tour teeth and orthodontic treatment is not cheap!
Tell your ortho next time you see him that you aren't happy as your teeth aren't as straight as you want them to be and you can't see a difference! Ask to see an impression of before and after! It may just be that the change has been so gradual that you can't tell yourself.
Good luck!

Does anyone know any good quotes. They can be from songs or just really cute ones. They can be about anything. Like love, friendship etc.. Thanks (link)
|
Hi there,
I have 3 quotes for you - and I don't know where I picked them up from - that remind me of my BEST friend are:
"Friends are the family we choose for ourselves"
and
"A friend is someone who will come and bail you out if you get arrested - a BEST friend is the one sat next to you in the cell saying "WOW! That was one hell of a night!""
"There is nothing as good as a good friend - except maybe a good friend with chocolates!"

i have really bad acen probelms and i cant stop crying. its so bad. what are some good produts i can buy and anything but proactive cuz that shit dont help me. any pills??? i really want some pills (link)
|
Hi there,
I used to suffer from really bad acne so I know how depressin it can be.
Forutnatley for me I only used to get it on my back.
Like you I tried EVERY over the counter product you can buy from a drugstore/chemist and none of them made the slightest bit of difference to my skin! (Made a huge dent in my parents wallets tho!)
The best thing you can do is seek professional advice - don't go buying pills from the internet that promise you "Clear skin n 2 weeks" cos they do not work and aren't really that good for you.
See a dermatologist. There are lots of different types of acne and he/she will be able to diagnose correctly which type you have and then treat it accordingly. They can't wave a magic wand a get rid of it overnight but they are the experts and will do everything they can to help you get clearer skin.
Good luck with it and let me know how you get on!

P.S After being treated with prescribed drugs from a dermatologist my acne disappeared after 9 months and has never returned!!! YAY! :o)

Can anyone tell me what the song "she" by greenday is about? (link)

Hi there,
The song is about a girl who is trying to find out who she really is.
She wants to be herself but her parents, friends and society won't let her be that person.

Girls, this is for you...I'm 13/f and I've kept my pubic hair for 2 or 3 years now. But it's really starting to bother me. I shave my armpits and legs. I tried shaving down there but it takes so long and it leaves me irritated and itchy. I was wondering if you can use Nair??? I don't want to wax because I have sensitive skin and that would probably leave bumps and redness. I have used Nair on my armpits and legs before, and there was no irritation, but my hair that grew back turned white for a while. :-\
Please help me!!! (link)
|
HI there,
You could use Nair but I would strongly recommend doing a patch test first!
If you have sensitive skin then you should try a product called Nads - it's 100% natural so is great for sensitive skin and doesn't make you lumpy!- I get in online as I live in the UK but I'm sure if you live in the US that they would have it in a drugstore/chemist (Not sure what you call them over there!)
If not go to any search engine and type in Nads hair removal and it'll bring up their website.

Heyy everyone!
It's Lauren again. I just thought of one thing I want. Books. I love to read. I love books about real life situations. Does anyone know any good books (and authors too!) about teenagers (male or female) dealing with relashionships or teenagers dealing with being raped/sexually harrassed?
Thanks Again!

HI there,
You should go for the pale face, wide eyed look. Bedraggled hair and drool are always a safe bet too!
I think someone else may have mentioned watching the excorcist! That should help you loads although it's pretty scary!

I have a 4 yr old son with a guy that I am still trying to let go of. He has a girlfriend which I am still trying to accept. The hardest part is that he is constantly around to visit his son. When he comes around she calls his phones, he has come up here with hickeys on his neck. I have really tried to ignore it all despite how much it hurts. But 2 days ago I had enough and just stop speaking to him. I am still not speaking to him. I know it is childish but I don't know how else to handle it. He is no longer my boyfriend so he has the right, but what else can I do to make it stop hurting? How can I maintain a healthy friendship without letting my jealousy get in the way? (link)
|
Hiya,
Seems like a really tough situation to handle!
You should call him and ask him to come and see you on his own, without your son their - tell him that you need to discuss something with him.
If and when he does turn up ask him to switch his phone off and listen to what you have to say.
Tell him how you feel and that you still haven't fully gotten over the relationship you shared and that it makes it hard for you when he constantly flaunts it in your face that he is with someone else. Make it clear that you aren't trying to ruin his new relationship but you'd rather that when he came to spend time with your son that it is THEIR time and he needs to explain that to her. That he has a little person to think of and he can't possibly give him all the attention that he needs when she is constantly calling.
As for the hickeys - short of telling him not to let her do it there is not much you can do about that one.... like you said he has every right to be in a relationship and hey if he's chosen someone with vacuum-mouth then that's up to him! It's a cheap look anyway! LOL!
The best thing you can do is put all of your energy into loving your son and you will get the best reward ever. I know it's really hard sometimes especially when they insist on rubbing your nose in it but try and let it go over your head and just focus on your little boy.
If you need to chat inbox me or e-Mail me at melanieharvey81@hotmail.com
Take care and keep your spirits up.

is there anyway to find out no name numbers that call you on your cell??
thanks!! (link)
|
Hi there,
Am not sure how it works in the US (and I'm assuming you are from the US as you call it your cell phone) but in the UK if you get calls from witheld numbers and they are bothering you and you get them a lot you can ring your service provider and they will give you details on how to prevent nuisance calls. They can trace the number but are only allowed to tell the police the number it is so you would have to make a complaint against the person/people that were doing it.
If I were you I'd change my number and only give it out to people I really trust.

Hi there,
I used to be the editor of my scool magazine when I was a secondary school.
There are loads of thigs you could do.
You could do a guess the teacher column. Get some of your teachers to bring in a baby picture of themselves and pupils then have to match them to their teachers.
You could do interviews with teachers.
We used to have a school mascot Drey the Dragon, we used to hide 10 pictures of him all round the school and the first person to find all 10 and get their answer to us got a prize.
There are loads of things I can think of!
If you need anymore ideas then drop me a line and I'll send you a few more!
Take Care

here is the background knowledge you need to know. I have a lil bro . I am in 11grade. he is in 9th. I am the smart one. top of the class, honour roll and all sorts of crap. My lil bro is on the point of dropping out. for midsemester he got like 5 Fs (out of 10). My mom depends on me to ve the good example to him.
OK
now, today after class, I was on the bench outside od my class. My friend showed me a copy of the Chemistry test we are supposed to get tomorrow. So all of us on the bench (my freinds only) start to work it out and copy the answers for ourselves. NOW, my lil bro just comes out of nowhere and sees me copying down the answers. He was in a hurry and did not say anything but I think he saw me. what to do ?
and if he asks me when he gets home, what should I say?
i don't want him to think copying is the way to go. (link)
|
Oh dear!
If I were in your situation the first thing I would do would be to speak to my chemistry teacher.
I wouldn't say who showed you the paper just that you know that there is a copy of the paper going round and everyone has seen it.
I would then explain to your Mom what has happened. She will be proud of you that you did not cheat and it will also mean that your little brother does not have the opportunity to drop you in the sh!t or blackmail you so he doesn't tell.
Your teacher will treat it in the strictest of confidence and won't tell you friend, and he/she will probably respect you for being honest and telling the truth too.
I learnt when I was in school that there is absolutley NO point in cheating, it won't get you anywhere!
Take care and good luck!

I have long dark soft silky hair..asian hair of course and i just can't really seem to curl or wavy it so i'm asking if anyone has any good ideas that would probably help me...like how much gel or hair spray and what to do. Thanks a lot! =] (link)
|
Hi there,
I would really discourage you from using any heat based products as asian hair is not the strongest of hair.
One of my best friends has really dead straight hair too. The way I curled her hair for her when she was a bridesmaid at her sisters wedding was to wet it and then ragroll it.
You get strip of cloth (a old t-shirt will do!) about 10 cm long then fold it in half and cut a alit in the centre of it acrossways then poke the end of your hair through the hole and rollit at a 45 degree angle up towards the top of your head. When it's next to your head tie the 2 ends together and get some hair mousse and put it on the lump you have created.
You can then do 1 of 2 things, you can blow dry it or (and this works FAR better) stick a pair of tights over your head and sleep on it!
Either way when you've dried it/woken up you simply cut the strips out and BOING, you have a full head of curls!
One word of warning though! If you decide to opt for the second option (Tights on head sylee!) make sure you take the tights off your head before you go down for breakfast as you could give your parents/siblings/housemates/postman one hell of a fright!
Have Fun!
