Advice I don't know if you know anything about the advicenators chat, but hopefully you can help me. Whenever I try to get into the chat, I can't. I have a phone with SunCom and I dropped it in water, and to replace it I bought an unlocked Blackberry on eBay. I want to download games & ringtones as well as get online with it. Internet and other such services are provided by the network your phone is on. You need to phone their customer service line and report your problem, and they should send you an update of the correct settings for you phone via sms. I checked Vorbis because from what I remember while reading the instructions, it uncodes .AVI files? Sorry for taking so much of your time xD thanks Just uncheck the "media players" bit and all the boxes under "tools" most of the others are needed, or you'll probably need in the near future, and they barely take up any space really. Some of them you'll allready have, so it wont need to install them anyway. Good luck with that :) [view] Well I downloaded this video to burn on a disk and there's a same on on YouTube but when I play it, there's no sound and it's because i don't have this codec. If there's no sound on the vid when I it was on my computer but it originally does, will it have sound when I burn it onto a dvd? It depends entirely on the file. Just because you cant hear the sound on your own machine, doesn't mean that you won't be able to hear it if you play it on a dvd player or something. Ignore what the person below me said. It'll install the codecs you need then, just go with the standard installation. If it doesnt work, send me a question telling me what the file you are trying to run is called and I'll send you the relevent codec(s). [view] Whenever I plug speakers or headphones into my laptop, there is a loud crackling sound over the audio and every few seconds there is a beeping noise. I've tried adjusting the sound settings and they're definitely plugged into the right hole. What can I do to fix this? Sounds like theres either a problem with your equipment, OR more likely your headphone jack is loose. Getting somebody to tighten the connection would fix it I should think. I remember when he shot himself, and if you read his memoirs, you can start to understand why. [view] I bought a 1GB MINI SD Card for my phone (Nokia 6165) to hold & play music on my phone. It came with a similar (but SLIGHTLY bigger card) that says "MINI Adapter" on it. I wanted to sell these since I have no desire to use them. But I wanted to know if these cards could only be used for my phone or could they be used for other electronics out there. Basically, I just want someone to enlighten me on what these are & if they can only be used for my phone or if they can be used for other electronics out there, etc. You can sell them (as the person below says) but to be honest with you, it's probably not worth it. In all liklihood you'll need them in the future for something, so you might as well keep them. Plus you're really not going to get much for them on places like ebay so it's not really worth it. If you have an American or European gamecube, then the only way you're going to be able to play it is by either buying a gamecube from Japan, or getting your gamecube modified (chipped) - but I'm not sure on legality, so can't help you further on this site sorry. I'm sure google will be able to help, but to be able to do it is going to include buying the modship and having it installed for you, so might be easier just to buy a supported copy of the game. For example, when i was walking into my tv room I was thinking about the movie karate kid and I did a karate kid kick (i'm strange) then when I got to the tv room a band was talking about the movie Karate Kid. Is it just a really big coincidence or might I be physcic or something? Personally, I don't believe in psychics so naturally I'd say that you aren't. There are no proven psychics on TV or otherwise, so you have to wonder really. If I was psychic I'd milk it on a TV show or something - but as nobody has done that properly, ever, then I doubt it can be done. [view] Hey i ordered a japanese game for my gamecube and when i try to play it it says that the disc couldn't be read. is it because it wont work on my gamecube since i got it from america? i did notice the disc said somthing like "JAPN ONLY". just wanna know exactly cause my gamecube is pretty old so maybe it could be its performance or something. =/ No. Like DVDs, consoloes only play the games that are made for thier particular region. So American Gamecubes play American games, European gamecubes play European games etc. There are ways to get your console modified so that they do play games from any region, but it's illegal so I'm not going to advise you to do that. [view] A few months ago I had to take my PS2 apart to fix the disc tray, but every time I put it back together it doesn't work and I think it's the screw I put in, meaning I don't think I put them in the right place. If anyone can find picture instructions that give good pictures it'd be much appreciated. Frodo It wouldn't be that, as there wouldn't be a space for a screw if a screw didn't need to be there. You can find a guide to console repair http://www.ultimateconsoleguides.com/ - but if I were you I'd just bite the bullet and take it to a shop to repair it in case you do any further damage. Don't forget machines are comlex and sensitive and you shouldn't take them apart unless you know what you're doing. [view]
