My school has a winter formal coming up. The thing is, I go to a private, all girls school. Not many of my friends have guy friends, and the ones that do are already setting some people up. I really want to go. I'm a junior and haven't been to a dance yet (my old school only had homecoming). Anyway, there's a guy from work I've been thinking of asking. The problem is, I don't know when or how to ask him. I talk to him, not a ton though. One of my friends said it would be creeping if I just out of the blue asked him to the dance, but then she changed her mind and said it wouldn't be. What do you think? Another thing, I'm afraid of people at work finding out. It's not that I'm embarrassed, it would just be awkward and they would be asking questions and whatever. I'm really shy, never had a boyfriend, so doing this would be stepping completely out of my comfort zone, which is something I really want to do. What do you think? How should I ask him? I don't want it to be like in the break room when everyone is around, and while we're working, there's people around and it would be awkward to ask. Any ideas? The dance is at the end of January. I would start off by getting his number, start texting. Or even get his screenname/myspace/facebook so that way you could talk to him more. flirt with him and see if he flirts back, just see if he is interested at all. bring up the dance not completely random just on the subject somehow so its not akward and from there kinda mention going with him. good luck and hope I helped (:

My mom is having another baby and she wanted to take those childbirth/lamaze classes this time around. She said she wanted to do a completely drug free birth and thought the classes would better prepare her for it.
Well, her midwife told her that she'd have to wait until she was 36 weeks pregnant to attend the childbirth classes. She's now almost 38 weeks pregnant and the hospital told her that her midwife gave her wrong information! The hospital says there are no more spaces in the childbirth class and that she was suppose to take the classes a lot sooner--like, before 36 weeks even!
Anyway, my mom feels totally unprepared and is very distressed. She doesn't know where she can go to the classes at. Is there another option for her? I was thinking maybe a book or something that she could review herself and practice so she is prepared for the drug free delivery? I don't know how we'd find it or anything or if there is even something out there that could help her.
Please, if someone knows something, let us know! My mom is REALLY upset and nervous!
the only thing I can think of is getting a movie like the 'miracle of life' because they interview the mom and everything or on tlc they have 'baby stories' hope I helped a little (:
ok for christmas i'll be getting new MAC makeup and i want to buy a new eyeliner since my old ones always smudged. which pencil eyeliner from MAC should i get? i'd rather not get liquid since i have no idea how to apply it. also, what other stuff should i get like eye shadow, foundation, mascara, and lip gloss? i don't wanna buy the wrong stuff.

I was wondering what kind of outfits would look good on me. I don't wear a lot of skirts or anything.
so i weigh about 135 and i am 5'4.I have really long reddish brown hair (its either wavy or straight and goes about 5 inches above my butt) and hazel eyes, athletic body. i have freckles that seem to almost disappear in winter. i don't like wearing makeup and also, i have some acne (not real bad).

if I were you I would get straight leg/skinny dark wash jeans then for the top wear layers, like a cute tank top with a cardigan, hope that helped (: I would wear your hair wavy (I would die for your hair btw lolll it sounds so cute. You can also try A little bit of natural tones for eyeshadow and mascara.
Ok this is a weird question but I pluck my eyebrows and I always do it underneath but the top of my eyebrows aren't plucked. I'm scared to do them because I think I'll mess up. Is there a certain way you can do them without making them all weird looking? I can't get them waxed so yeah. Thanks for the help!
if I understand your question I wouldnt pluck them but if you have those little scissors that come in a nail kit use those and cut in the shape of your brow
In america or ireland do irish people use the claddagh ring as a wedding or engagement ring anymore? If so, do they get the kind with all the diamonds and gold and stuff, or the plain silver kind you can get anywhere? Are their any other rings that hold such history, and do you have any pictures of old rings, like even a picture of an old, 200 year old claddagh ring? And names of these other ancient rings would be nice. Im just asking because the clauddah seems to be so popular these days. Thanks!
I don't think people use them as wedding or engagement rings in America, its a possibilty though if they don't have enough money, or whatever else.I think its more of a promise ring than anything.

this guy and i went out for about a year...we broke up about four months ago, and signs are showing that he wants me back....his girlfriend cheated on him, and its sad and everything. I wouldnt take him back, for the obvious reason that he hurt you once. chances are he needs to get over her or he realized what he's missing out on. I wouldnt ruin your relationship now for a boy that might screw you over again.
I have a serious cutting problem. I just got out of rehab for depression and suicide attempts. I was there for 3 months. My cutting habit started in rehab. During day treatment, I began scratching myself with plastic tweezers during Art. I cut when I feel anxious, I cut when I think about my ex. The only girl I ever dated, 5 month relationship. She abused me and was obsessed (clinically, extreme OCD). She hurt me and took control of my life, but some how i still love her and think about her and want to be with her. We aren't allowed to talk, but we have seen each other a few times and I just break down. She still loves me. And more than anything I would love to be back with her. I know that I don't need to, but after all the stuff she does to me, I still am in love. I cut as a punishment for thinking about, talking about, or anything else about her. Which is hard.
This is mainly a two part question.
How do I stop my cutting habit? (I do hide things and I am on anti-depressants)

its kind of hard to stop if your mind is set on cutting... you are going to think about it right away when something goes wrong, I've been through it. try seeing a counsler, my counsler recommened throwing ice cubes at a brick wall, screaming or ripping up a phone book.. I never tried them though, this sounds kinda crazy but take your sheets off your matress and stab your bed with a knife just let out your frustrations or throw things against your wall, but things that are nice and soft loll I've broken a lot of things because I used to grab whatever I could be my hands on. From now on don't let your feelings bottle up in you, because it just gets worse.
with the whole out of love thing, sorry I can't really help you there the only thing I can think of is finding someone new, that puts you in a better mood, because even though you love her she's making you upset also

the people that care about you and are close to you either not even think you would do that, ask you or stick up for you right away. dont worry too much about it, if your friend believes you it doesn't matter, but for people just randomly asking about the rumor I would just deny the whole thing from the start and ask them what they're talking about.. good luck
