Hey Advice columnist i was wondering if you coud help me with a problem I have.
Okay I'm a 14 year old gurl and have had my period sence I was 12, But I have always used pads. What my question is, there really as many risks to using tampons than just pads? my mother keeps saying that they'er awful and that they can get stuck. I have done my home work and know that they'er is very slim chance of getting TSS. But what I want to know is do they really get stuck? I don't believe that they do but I'm asking this for a reason to make sure.
I'm jsut so tired when i have my period that im wet. EWWW!!! and summer will come and I can't go to pool parties with my period unless Im wearing a tampon.

No tampons can NOT get stuck... when inserted properly you will even forget it's there. A lot of girl's prefer them to pads, becuase there more cleaner, saintary and easier to do things with, such as going to pool parties.

I don't meant to sound mean, but if a person has flab hanging out, they should not wear tight, revealing clothes that a skinny person would wear. I'm tired of seeing women in particular wearing halter and short tops with their flab hanging out the sides, and their bottoms straining the seams of their tight, low-cut jeans. I'm not a skinny mean girl saying this, I have extra pounds on me and I try to dress in a way that flatters me and hides what I don't want to show off. Do these women think they look good? I kinda' know what ya mean. I occasionally do see some overweight people wearing clothes that should be burned... {lol} However, I think that just because you are over weight doesn't mean you have to dress like a nun, and cover everything up either. Every woman comes in a different size, wether that be a size 1 or size 21, they all have differnt things going for them, wether that be there eyes, "butt", legs, and so on. They should wear things that flatter them, but of course it is not our place to tell them to hide rolls hanging out. That's part of being an american....that you can wear whatever you choose.

It seems like people hardly ever rate advice they are given. I have seen people who have answered 200+ questions and only have about 15 ratings. Don't you think that if someone is nice enough to take the time to answer your question, you should at least be nice enough to take 30 seconds to thank them by rating their advice? The agerage age to start babysitting is 15 and about $5.00 a hour. {that part is completly negotiable}

Okay I live in a small town, I have a small ward(church) i don't go to school and babysitting is in high demand. Well you ask why i'm saying this? because I have been asked to babysit like everytime I see a parent. I grew up in a day care and preschool that my aunt and mother ran so people think I'm totally good at baby sitting. well my mother always thought that I was like auwful at babysitting but now im like "old" and its okay so... how much do i charge? I personaly thing $3 is like WAY too much but i would be baby sitting a 6yr boy, 4yr girl, 3yr girl and a 6/7 month old. They're not rolling in money so is $3 a hour to much after all/?

I hope by you saying your not IN school ment that your home schooled or something? or what, your just not in school at all?? $3.00 a hour is tottaly not enough money to watch that many kids. I dont care where you live. The minimum for a job like that is $5.00 a hour, but Your talking about 4 kids, that's a big job.
4 kids....you might even want to ask for more than $5.00

My boyfriend has a problem with wax buildup in his armpits, it smells very potent and is very hard to get rid of. The only way so far, is for him to shave his armpits, which he hates to do. What would be the cause of this build up? (link)

Some people have more sweat glands in there pits than others. There are a few solutions to this problem. #1 keeping the hair trimmed shortly or shaven. (this helps reduce the smell quite a bit) #2 {I got this one off of a website, http://www.usenews.org/group/alt.support.diet.low-carb/message-95468.html it states: Using antifreeze on your armpits.... apply liberally and wait 3-4 minutes. Then take a very good shower. wash armpits with soap, etc.
Do not ingest antifreeze, just rub it in your armpits. it kills the bacteria that makes it smell. #3 Get him to go to a doctor. they do make medicine to treat overactive sweat glands.
*he should not be embarassed about this problem, according to the website 70% of men have this same problem and most of them shave there pits as well.*

I am 17. When me and my boyfriend were first together, things were so great. We used to do so much together. We saw eachother everyday. We couldn't stand being away from eachother. Infact, we couldn't be away from eachother so much that he convinced his parents and I convinced my mom to let me move in beacause it was like we practically lived together anyway. We've been together for 8 1/2 months, and lived together for about 3. I love him so much, but now at days I can't tell how much he loves me. We rarely do anything together anymore. He's always hanging out with his friends. infact, about 5 mins ago he just left with his friend to go watch a movie on his friends big screen. The only reason he came here was to get a movie, and mind you its 2 o'clock in the morning. This is how it is for me every night for like the past 2 weeks, I am up til like 3 waiting for him. I tried to tell him how left out I feel but I havn't seen any improvement. there are 2 different reasons your man may be doing this, #1, after being together for a while, a man get's "comfortable" in his relationship. acts more himself, stops opening car doors (lol) hangs out with his friends, guys do love them big screen T.V.'s.....lol #2, one thing that bothered me in your letter was the time he was leaving to go watch this so called movie. which leads me to think he may be seeing someone else. If you love him, try to make it work but keep your eyes OPEN to things that he is doing.. {possibly cheating} you also might want to check into that.

OK so, what's wrong with this dude for flipping out over a girl that aint even his? Have they gone out before? When he asks your girl out, doesn't she just say NO NO NO? these are questions I need answers to, to be able to figure out what this dude's problem is... You defintely need to talk to the principal, or guidance counselor because this is not normal behavior and someone could get hurt. Allright, I have recently started taking ADDERALL(ADD drug), which goes against all my beliefs, but this way I can stay at my current school which I love. I have an agreement with my parents if I take it I can stay at my current school. But, today after it started kicking in I heard voices. It started in geography, we were talking about Sharon the butcher of Israel. Someone in my head, who was me but not started telling me about how eyes are made of glass and Sharon took out his victims eyes and put them on a wall. It chanted, "Wall of eyes" until I screamed so loud in my head I was suprised no one heard me. It never shut up, unless I was talking to someone, but once I stopped it started. It's hard to explain, it was like I was saying it to myself, but it wasn't me. It's worn off by now, but I think it is making me insane. I don't want to stop taking it, but it is making me completely diffrent. Should I tell my parents? Should I stop taking it? my grades are better. Is it worth it? (link)

Most people assume that a couple got in a fight if one of them goes to the couch. That is not the case with us. My husband snores sometimes, but hasn't been lately, but when he was, he would go to the couch so he wouldn't bother me. Now he claims he is used to the couch, and falls asleep faster there than on our bed, which is queen-sized. Also, he insists on putting the ceiling fan on when it's not even hot, and I don't like it, so he sleeps on the couch with an electric fan blowing on him. I was just wondering, is this healthy and normal? Am I the only one whose spouse does this? I worry about him wrecking his back sleeping on a narrow couch, and wrecking the couch as well. What do you think? I don't think I do anything to bother him when he is sleeping with me, so what can it be? (link)

He probably can fall asleep faster on the couch-- it's made for superior comfort...lol if you want him in the bed with you (which is where he should be) then having a fan on,.. I think... is a small sacrifice. Some people are just plain hot natured... I'm like that. I keep the fan on sometimes in the winter...My husband doesn't like it.. but hey! thats why they make covers!!
P.S. As far as back problems go... it puts alot of strain on your spine to sleep on such a narrow couch--twisting and turning

It is VERY NORMAl for your period to be late. Your body is going through alot right now, as far as hormone's go. But, other thing's can cause your period to be late, such as your hormones, any stress, being to overweight, alot of things. if your that concerned about it you can be put on birth control to assure your perios arrives on time every month.

I'm not sure whether this beinglongs in activsm or not but I think that when the airplanes hit the twin towers on 9/11, the terroists actually thought what they were doing what the right thing to do. It's wonderful that you want to change your life around! My adivce: Is there a Health Department in your area? If so, schedule a pap smear and tell them in the appointment that you also want to be tested for all STD's and then be put on Birth Control. At the Health Department it is completely confidential and 100% free till you turn 18 years old. Good Luck
