Hi, I'm a young 50 year old father of three (two sons one 5 and one 21, and a daughter of 31) from Romford, England. I have a lot of experience of life from both the good and bad sides, the good side when I was singing in bands almost every night and my life was one long party, and the bad side having to admit I'm an alcoholic and doing a hard rehab/detox programme (sober for 10 years now) then having a heart attack and a broken marriage to deal with. I am now in a good place in my own mind and want to help others as much as I am able to.

Not all guys like blondes, I prefer brunettes. Some guys I know think that blondes are easier and so give out more and earlier than other girls, but not all guys are looking for that.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, things must be really hard for you and your family. I think that you would be best going to your doctor and finding out if you can get some professional counselling to help you.
Also try having a look at these sites, the first three deal with Grief and how to cope with it, and the other one gives help with dealing with depression. You could also see if your Mum will have a look at them (but be careful how you talk to her about it, she may get upset).

I just joined a club thats made up of adults who get together once a week and try out our public speaking skills on one another.
Well the first night I went a very well dressed, attractive, and intelligent man sat next to me. He knew I was nervous and was being so supportive and friendly.
I was absolutely convicned that this man must have been a doctor. He dressed like one and was SO nice like doctors are.
Well the next week he wasnt there and I talked to another one of the men. I asked him if (his name) was a doctor. Then the other guy started to laugh, and told me he was a financial advisor. He wanted to know why I thought he was a doctor and I said because of how he was dressed!
Well the next time I saw this man he was being very COLD towards me and barely looked at me.
He was also dressed down in Jeans!!
Now I think because of what I said that he thinks I'm a little gold digger or something. I also found out he's married so I feel like an even bigger idiot.
Should I apologize to him? I want him to be nice to me again. (link)

Maybe you should just talk to him and find out if you have actually upset him before you consider apologizing to him. It could just be that he'd had a bad day when he was being 'cold' towards you, if he's married then maybe he was having trouble at home, until you talk to him you won't find out. If it turns out that you have upset him in some way then just give a simple apology explaining that it was all just a mistake, I'm sure that if he's an intelligent man he will understand, if he doesn't then maybe you need to re-assess your opinion of him.

The song is called All By Myself and it was originally by Eric Carmen (but it has been covered by a few other people)I don't know what version is on the Bridget Jones soundtrack as I haven't seen the film. You could try looking up the film soundtrack on the internet.

I am writing this because I don't know what to do. I am really scared that my use of alcohol is out of control. I feel pressured by my friends to be part of the drinking scene. I see people in the media using drugs for pleasure. When I'm drunk, I forget alll my problems and school is unimportant. I've dropped out of sports and I o what I can to get money for my alcohol. I bring little bottles of it to school because I can't going the day without it. Can you help me? (link)

As an alcoholic myself (sober for over 2 years now) I know the kind of thing you're going through, and it's not going to be easy to stop.
You need to get proper help for this, your doctor might be able to recomend somewhere you can go localy or see if you can get a phone number for AA (you really need to talk to someone about it, and not your friends). But the first and most important step (and it's going to be very, very hard) is to stop drinking, you'll never give up if you don't stop yourself from taking that first drink.
Take it one day at a time (or even one hour if a whole day seems too much to start with), just tell yourself that for today your not going to have a drink, don't worry about tomorrow until it get's here.

I would suggest that you and /or your parents try to get her to get checked out properly as soon as you can because it's always easier to treat illnesses like this if they are diagnosed earlier. If you want some information and advice/help try these two sites:

Hi. I was hoping someone knows the name of this one movie. It was in theaters some years ago and I thought it was called "the contender" but apperantly not. It could be The Hurricane with Denzel Washington, he plays a boxer who is wrongly imprisoned for murder. It's the only boxing movie set in a prison that I can think of.

I think that I might be becoming dyslexic. I'm not sure if that can happen so I'm debating on whether to tell my parents.
I've recently (starting about a year ago) started having trouble with reading and with reading numbers.
Say I try to give a number out and it's something like, 764-383-9827. If I try to read it off of something that it was written on it would probably come out something like, 764-833-9728. It's really agrivating because it doesn't matter how long I look at the number; whenever it comes out of my mouth, they are always flip flopped.
It also happen with words and reading; it was just easier to explain with numbers. Sometimes I even read things that aren't even on the paper I'm reading off of. Like, if the word was "with" I might read it as "when" or "what". Should I tell my parents about it?

It sounds like you might have Dyslexia, but I'm not sure that it's something that just comes on like that, it could be an unconscious concentration problem. By that I mean that although you don't realise it consciously your concentration level slips at times when you're reading or writing or talking to someone. Either way you really need to talk to your parents about it and get it checked out by a doctor. Dyslexia and concentration problems aren't a major problem as long as they are found and acted on quickly.

I really like to act and the auditions for the school play are in december. I do a lot of acting outside of school. I have been acting ever since 1st grade. At the moment I am taking 2 theatre classes. But last year I didn't get into the school play. I was actually crying. I knew I could do it but I didn't. The problem is, I can't sing and the play is always a musical. When I act in front of people it's a peice of cake but when I sing I just can't do it. I really want to be in this play! Any advice? Remember not all actors can sing as well but even some of the ones that can't end up in musicals, check out Richard Harris in Camalot or Marlon Brando in Guys and Dolls.
Most people sing along to their favourite songs at home, what I would say is practice at home then just try to forget that your doing it on stage and give it a go. The other thing you could do is talk to the people that put the school play on and ask if it's possible to do a play that has a part you can play (not everyone in musicals has to sing) maybe even if it's only as a narrator or something, like in The Rocky Horror Show.

i just got this virus cuz im an idiot. someone else who had it sent me the link (cuz the virus does that) and it said "is this you?" with a myspace link. and me, being an idiot, i clicked it. i downloaded the "picture" and now i have the virus too. i dont know why, but i'm not sending the links like my friends. but it still messes up AIM and my computer. any advice on how to get rid of it? (i did McAfee Scan.. nothing came up.)

I had a problem with McAfee not picking up some virus's, try downloading another anti-virus checker, Avast is a really good one and you can should be able to get it free from www.Download.com

As far as I know the only way you can get a disabled parking badge is to be registered disabled. If you are not registered your doctor should be able to tell you who you need to contact to get registered.

My hamster died.:( I had him for like 2 years. Thats not the point though. I was thinking about gettting another animal but I dont know what. Cats,dogs,rabbits and any reptiles are just not going to work...should I just get another hamster but that seems like I am just replacing it. Got any suggestions?I love ferrets but I don't have the money for them.

If you don't want to get a hamster but want something similar try a Degu (there are a few sites on-line about them but a lot are in German for some reason), some pet shops recomend them if people ask for rats because they don't like stocking rats and Degu's are a bit more friendly.

This might sound a little whack, but I've been having these mad dreams. Let me explain...One night, I was working on myspace, and I saw this really cute guy that just "popped up". I was like, OMG! HE'S GORGEOUS! And that night, I had this dream where I was in the woods and this guy came up behind me, and it just just really romantic, and he surprised me by taking me to a water fall and eating lunch. Then we kissed behind it, and just...hung out. Then we starred into the sky and crap. Well, when I woke up, I saw this friend request from him, so I looked at his profile...and in his WHO I WANT TO MEET section, THAT'S WHAT WAS THERE. MY LITTLE FANTASY/DREAM. Almost exactly like it...and I got a little freaked out. I keep having dreams about ppl I don't know, and then I end up meeting them or tlaking to them...I don't know how anyone could help me, but it would ROCK if someone could. (link)

These dreams could just be nothing more than coinsidence, but it could also be that you have a gift for fore-sight. There are lots of people who believe in these kind of visions and indeed whole religions and belief systems are based around them. You can do research about these type of beliefs and visions, there should be lots of stuff on-line and also in libraries, but be careful not everyone believes in this kind of thing and sometimes people get very freaked out by someone who claims to be able to see the future. Also don't rush into anything with someone just because you've had a dream about them, as I said it COULD just be coinsidence.

Penis's come in all sizes, and there isn't really a 'normal' size as such. As far as I know condoms are normally all the same size, although you may find specialist shops on-line that sell different sized ones.

It's not always wrong to feel an amount of distrust when meeting or dateing a new person, but that should fade the longer you know the person. Tell her not to just dismiss guys the first time she meets or goes out with them because time and experience will show if they can be trusted or not.

I think what you have to remember and understand is that, despite what is pumped at us through every form of media, EVERY woman, and indeed EVERY person, is different and there is no particular way that you HAVE to look to define your sexual identity. Being a woman depends much more on how you feel, if you feel like a woman then you will project that in your atitude and behavour. Try not to get too hung up about your physical appearance, and remember everybody developes at different rates and not every woman has large breasts, but these are not bad things.
You have your whole life ahead of you, take your time and don't try to rush through life.
