I want my tounge pierced so bad, and i have for a while. My dad thinks its trashy and my mom goes along with what my dad says. What can I say to make him understand ill take good care of it and to let me get it done. I mean he fought with me about my belly button but i take extremley good care of it.

I think your dad already believes that you would take good care of it since you take care of your belly button. So, his decision probably has nothing to do with hygiene and everything to do with his belief that is is trashy. Apparently, he caved on the belly button even though he thinks it is trashy, so the question is, why did he allow you to get the belly button ring? Did he just get tired of hearing you talk about it and gave in? I personally think that you should abide by your parents rules, and it sounds like you do since you're seeking their permission rather than defying them. BUT, to answer your question as to how to convince them to agree, I suggest you use whatever tactics worked in the past with your belly button. Don't try to convince them that it's not trashy, that's a battle you will never win.

Probly wrong subject sorry about that.

I asked a question on here about my weight and i got that im not over weight by all but one person and so im going to attempt a diet.

I started 3 days ago. lol well ive cut down on the snack foods and alot of food all together. And its fine i guess But i have no idea what i can and cannot eat. Do i count calories or saturated fat.?

Also i drink alot of soda and i probly can't give it all up. I can maybe make it one or two a day but i dont think not drinking them is a choice. Unless there is something better out there.

And exercises i live in maine so im not up to running around outside and i dont have exercises machines at home so anything i could do in the house to help me out a little bit?

Any websites would be nice but easy to read ones would be nice.

Thhx in advance.

Follow this advice and I can almost promise that anyone will lose weight:
Forget about fat and carbs, all you need to do is restrict your caloric intake.
I don't care what you eat, eat ice cream and snickers bars if you like, just don't consume more than 1000-1200 calories in a day.
If you eat lower calorie food then you will get to eat "more" than if you use up all you calories for the day in a burger and fries, but it's you choice!

Exersize will definitely speed up the process but is not necessary to lose weight. If you want to exersize indoors, try a kick boxing dvd such as Billy Blanks Tae Bo.

Bottom line, increase activity level and decrease calories. The details are up to you!!

My mom has a drinking problem. She has gotten drunk at least 3 or 4 times. I hate it when she gets drunk. My sister and I told her to not buy wine again and she promised she wouldn't, but tonight she was got drunk because she has been hiding wine from us. The next day she ALWAYS denies it. What should I do to make her admit that she lied and to make her stop??

It's good that you and your sister have confronted your mom about her drinking, at least it's out in the open. Keep on confronting her when she drinks, don't allow her to pretend that no one notices.

I suggest that you and your sister confront your mother together and tell her how it makes you feel when she is drunk. Be completely honest and let her know how much it upsets you both. Let her know that even if she doesn't think she gets drunk, the way she behaves when she drinks makes you both feel uncomfortable and scared for her.

You can try videotaping her if you want, but most likely she will still deny it. People generally only hide things that they are ashamed of, so if she's hiding wine, she already knows she has a problem.

Despite your best efforts, your mom may still continue to drink. Sadly, no one but your mom can stop herself from drinking, and if she does stop it will be because she wants to.

If things don't improve, you should let a family member or a family friend that you trust know what is going on.

I just found out that a distant relative who passed away has left me an 800 dollar inheritance. It may not sound like a lot but to me it is. I should be getting the money within the next month.
I would like to purchase something with the money. I don't want to blow it on clothing or CD's or DVD's. What would be something that I could buy that would be a wise purchase? I already have a DVD player and a computer.

Buy something that will retain its value and never go out of style or become outdated. For example, a classic piece of jewelry such as a pearl necklace will be every bit as valuable and beautiful in 10 years as it is today. If you can't think of anything you want right now that won't become an expensive but faded memory in the future, hold off until you find the perfect item. You won't be sorry that you waited!!

I need to find the five most significant discoveries in chemistry since 1970 and I've been searching google.com but I can't find anything. Would anyone be able to find me a website that has what I need?

Thank you.

It is highly unlikely that you are going to find one source to answer that question. Not everyone is going to agree which discoveries are the most significant. I think the best approach is to google the terms history and chemistry and compile a list of all major discoveries. Be sure to check out multiple sources on the history of chemistry and discoveries and you should be able to see 5 big ones that are most often mentioned, and therefore very significant.
