hello, my chi straightener crapped out on me(big surprise lol) and i am going to buy a new one. I am a guy and i have meduim length hair. the back goes down to a little less than my sholders and the front is chin legnth. I want to get a solia straightener, is it any good? and should i get the 3/4'' plate or the 1 1/4'' plate? Thanks!
Get the bigger plate, definitely. I have a Vidal Sassoon straightener with a 1 1/4" plate and it's awesome.

If you think that it would make your relationship weird, turn your friend down nicely. It would suck to lose a friend because of a relationship, so if you don't really like this person, turn them down and say that you'd rather be friends.
However, if you both really like each other and feel a real connection, then go for it.
Why is it that some fellow advicenators tell young girls and boys it is okay to have sex or do other sexual acts "if they feel that they are ready" when they know that it is wrong. I believe they are just looking to get good ratings, do you agree? I'd much rather tell them the truth, that they are TOO YOUNG and have NO IDEA of potential consequences BESIDES pregnancy and get a lower rating than tell them it's okay. Am I the only one?
I suppose this can be seen as purely subjective, but is there anyone out there at or about my age (20) who thinks it's ok for 12 year olds to go around having oral sex and/or intercourse?
I agree with you. However, pardon me for quoting a John Mayer song, but "is there anyone who ever remembers changing their mind from the paint on a sign?" which basically means that no matter what you tell someone, they will most likely keep doing what they're doing. There's not much we can do besides discourage promiscuous behavior, and we will probably get bad ratings for it. And it saddens me that columnists will say that it's okay just to get a good rating. That's not good at all. Of course, hindsight is 20/20... the teens having sex will most likely regret it later but saw nothing wrong with it at the time. There have been times in my life like that- I thought something was perfectly okay, and then when I look back on certain things I realize what a moron I was.
Anyway, that was a random tangent, but I also agree that it's subjective too. It's a personal choice, and there's not much else we can do for those kids except discourage that behavior and run the risk of getting bad ratings.

One of my best freinds is a boy, and he came over like twice or three times. Today we wanted to go to a football game and my parents say "I dont think this relationship you two are sharing will work out" and im standing there with my mouth hung open and they dont believe me that we are JUST FREINDS. They wont let us hang out cause they think were going out, and my parents are really over protective. I tell them that were just friends and they say "A boy and a girl cant be 'best freinds'"

I totally know what you mean. One of my best friends is a guy and for like five years my parents thought that there was "something else" going on. Obnoxious, right?
If you two have a mutual friend, ask them to come along too. My parents suddenly found it not weird at all when I asked to go hang out with my guy friend and a mutual female friend.
I can understand why your parents are freaking out, but they have no reason to be. Time will help, that's for sure, but for now try to hang out in groups or at school. And keep trying to convince your parents that they're being freaking creepy. They'll get the message sooner or later.
You know in highschool when you get assigned as parents and have to take care of a fake baby? Is that just some fake thing on tv or do you actually have it in school? if so, what class and what grade?
Yeah, it's real. The people at my school had to carry around an egg. That's only if you take a Home Ec class, like Personal/Family Development or Life Skills or something.

I don't think that particular part means anything, but the "Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir" part means something along the lines of "Come to bed with me tonight."
Some questions about guys (it would be helpful if guys answered this to)

1.) If you find a guy who likes you for who you are on the inside, it won't matter. I mean, generally, yes, but one of my friends is dating a girl who is just naturally really skinny. And that has nothing to do with why they're together.
2.) If you're cool with it, sort of lean into him. Not all the way, but let him know that you like what's going on. If you're walking, you might try putting your arm around him too, if you know what I mean.
3.) It depends. Going back to #1, if he's worth your time then he should like you for who you are on the inside.
4.) If he found out that she was being untruthful or something of that nature. That's a real reason to break up with somebody. There are other people that break up because all the guy wants is a physical relationship. In that case, it's best to break up.

It worked for me. It may depend on your skin coloration. If your skin is more pink, it may be weird. But if you're like me and your skin is more yellow (not that I'm saying my skin is the color of a banana, but it has yellow undertones), then it should work well. In a few days you can definitely tell a difference. And don't forget to wash your hands after you use it- it can turn your hands colors. The cool thing is that it fades in like a week so if you mess up or it looks weird then it's not a big deal. To me I got better results than when I actually laid out in the sun.

Everybody feels self-conscious in a bikini; it's not just you. Though if you want to change that, try to tone your abs by crunches and the like. It gives you a lot more confidence. And I once heard a woman say, "Put on a bikini and don't take it off until you're 35." You've only got one life to live, after all, and you're going to look much better in a two-piece now than you will when you're 68.
okay, i'm starting a job some time this week. i had to get my work permit and everything. on my first day of work i have to get a salvia mouth swab drug test. how long can it detect weed in your system? i smoked last night (saturday) not a lot though. will they be able to detect it? please don't tell me about the dangers of smoking or to stop. i've heard it all. thanks.
i've heard it can last in your system anywhere from a week to a month. i've also heard that drinking a ton of water can make it go away faster. i hope things work out for you.

HI i have an epiphone les paul, i was just wandering what would happen if i turned the 6 screws on the actual pikup?
i imagine that those screws are what holds the pickup in place, so if you took them out you might be able to pop the pickups out. i've unscrewed all kinds of crap on my strat and nothing bad has ever happened. it's pretty fun to take apart instruments, so have at it. you're more than likely not going to be able to hurt it.
My sister is 3 years older than i am and is always saying myspace sucks and i should get a facebook. She says schools look at myspace and you could get suspended if you have pics of doing stuff at the school? Is this true? and is facebook REALLY so much better than myspace? Any opinion is appreciated!
In my opinion, Facebook is a lot safer than Myspace and I like it a lot more. I have heard of schools looking at Myspace profiles (as well as Facebook profiles) but if you keep your profile on both private, it shouldn't be a big deal. Also, make sure that you don't have promiscuous pictures. If you're underage, don't upload pictures of you drinking or doing drugs and stuff. Pretty common sense, but you would have to have a lot of bad stuff on there to make schools and jobs not accept you. As far as getting suspended, that would have to do with pictures or info about drugs, alcohol, etc. I have both a Myspace and a Facebook and I'd say I'm a good kid, so you just have to be careful about it.

if you find a decent, respectable guy, he's not going to care what you've done in the past. in fact, he will like you more because you're not a skank. and if you meet a guy who thinks that your purity is a turn-off, he is not worth your time. very simply put.
you have plenty of time to do those things because frankly, most high school boys (and girls, for that matter) are idiots. you'll find that out pretty quick if you haven't already.
it's not a big deal that you haven't really dated anybody because i'm going to assume that your friends don't drive yet since you're 14. and it doesn't really count as a date if your parents drop you off, i don't think.
don't rush to get into a relationship, and don't fall for the first guy to look your way. my best friend is like that... she feels the need to always have a boyfriend. and that's why people think she's a skank.

Okay so i accidentally left a half of a plastic bottle of milk in my locker... its liek a milk chug thing
its been in there since thursday and it wont come out till tuesday.... will it like start to mold and will like the stench seep out of my locker or will like (since its sealed shut) nothing happen if i dont open the container
it may not be that bad since it's winter... and your locker might be kind of like a "refridgerator" over the weekend if they don't turn the heat on at the school. i don't think it will mold, but it will probably smell funky when you open your locker on tuesday. throw it away first thing when you get to school. and take one of those car air freshener things, or potpourri, or even perfume/febreeze to put in your locker. i don't think it will be so bad that it makes the stuff in your locker smell, but just to be safe don't put anything you like in there on tuesday until you get the milk out. since it's not very much milk and it's in a sealed container, i don't imagine it will be that bad but be prepared!
i want my hair curly and feel soft, i put gel/hair spray, etc, when it touch it feel touching, sticky, smelly, but i want curl to be soft and nice, like girl natural curly not to make curly, i want make my hair curly and goes look like so nutral and nice not sticky, and whatever yea thks!
i know what you mean, instead of gel and hairspray, use mousse and get some frizz-ease hair serum. scrunch your hair with mousse and frizz-ease, and then you can add a little teensy bit of gel. that way, it curls without getting frizzy and it doesn't look or feel crunchy.
what does it mean when someone tells you to turn on the ignition without starting the engine ? so you just turn the key two little knotch things but before you turn the engine over ?
i have an SUV, and in my car there is a sort of "halfway" before the engine turns over, and i can just turn that on if i want to listen to the radio or whatever. it runs on the battery when you do that. so be careful, because you can run your battery down. the next time you start your car, turn it slowly until just the lights and radio come on, and then you'll know how to do it :)
I love to think creatively..and just be creative, in general. I write and draw mainly, but have never produced anything worth putting in a portfolio. I have always had a passion for the arts, but have put it off as something you'd do as a hobby.
Now that I think about it though, I want to take the next step to becoming an artist. I don't know what to do though. I haven't taken an art class in a very long time, I haven't been trained professionally, I'm a total amateur who doodles (really good stuff) and writes every now and then.
What to do?? Any recommendations on how to go about starting a career in the arts (specifically creative writing, or design?). And art schools? Anything would help, really. I feel really confused about it all.
If you're still in high school, then a great decision for you would be to consider taking classes like art or journalism next year. You might even consider doing yearbook staff, which requires a LOT of creative work (I did it for two years). Just about any college or university has an art program, and there may be some better than others, depending on where you live or where you would like to go to school. You might visit collegeboard.com and see what's available. If you've got talent, you will do well. Graphic design is something you might want to consider. There's always a need for people to design stuff, and not just anybody can do it. My friend's dad is very creative- he works on movies for a living. He is also an accomplished artist and went to an art school. And he was involved in things like yearbook and art classes when he was in high school. To my knowledge, he didn't complete his degree but quit to open his own business and is now doing very well for himself. One of my friends who graduated recently is majoring in art and plans to do medical art (which sounds weird). That is basically like doing the illustrations in medical books- diagrams of the human body and things of that nature. So it's art, but it's a different approach to it. If you take art classes in high school, you'll be able to develop a portfolio, which you can then submit if you want to be an art major in college. And after that there are tons of opportunities for you. You've just got to find a college or university that would be best for your needs.
