I'm a 19 year old student at the University of Arizona who just finished my freshman year for my computer engineering degree. Sounds pretty nerdy, right? The catch is that I'm gay. Now I'm trying to balance a difficult degree with the kind of fitness and looks that I want. As I learn about fitness though maybe I can help others. I've got pretty good grades at least, so I can give advice on that.

Ok. So i have read that the best thing to do is start simple and move up. Right now I do about 10 minuites high impact one day and maybe 20 minutes low impact another day maybe like 5 days a week. I have heard on this though that it is better to do a longer period of time, So how does this sound...(I do aerobics and belly dancing) I can do 30 minuites I will do maybe 20 minuites low impact and then 10 minuites high impact, or like 2-10 minuite high impact with a 10 minuite low impack in between and i will do this 3-4 times a week. Is this a better idea? I am working out for moderate paced weight loss and a life long change.

Give it a few weeks or a couple of months and observe the change to your body. If you're not seeing the results you want, then you'll need to make the workouts more intense. One thing to remember about exercise however is that changes are never drastic and they never occur in very short time frames.


Okay first of all a quick bg of the story is that my friend is datin this guy that makes her feel like s**t!! she nos hes not right for her and she nos that I feel the same, but he recently told her that if he ever were to hurt her it would be through mind games and not physically!!
What I would like to know is how she could get him back via mind games as he has now made her question herself in all aspects like is she pretty enough, is he 2 good for her etc!! she is a wreck and needs to get him back at his own game!!
So any one who knows how to do mind games please help!! she needs to get back her sparkle which has been lost because of him!!
Also not 2 b cheeky but please dont write to tell me not to meddle in her lovelife or nt 2 play mind games I have heard this before!! Thx in advance and all HELP is appreciated!!

If you're willing to pay, I'm pretty sure NetFlix allows you to watch movies online. However, a free online movie streaming website is going to be very hard to find. It will just get shut down quickly for being illegal, and if you did manage to find one the videos would probably be laggy and low quality.


does anyone know anymore website's that are kinda like freerice.com? like..you do something on it..and it does something for other people??

Websites can only go so far. If you want to make real changes go volunteer somewhere. The only problem is that it's a rather large commitment.


Okay i am thirteen and i don't know if i am eating enough calories. I an 5'0 and 123 pounds. They say if you do not eat enough calories you can gain weight but i eat like that any time i attempt to lose weight. thet day i also exercised for 30 minutes. a quarter of grains, a quater of protein and half of

Breakfast : 2 pieces of whole wheat bread, slice of a cantalope, half a pear, 1 cup of milk

snack: dannon light and fit yogurt blueberry
30 min of excersise

...Milk
Lunch: quarter plate of rice,quarter of salmon,1/2 a cup of spinach and 1/2 a cup of onions

snack: pear

Dinner: 1/2 a plate of black peas with no skin or shell, 1/4 plate of rice, 1/4 plate of brocoli carrots and cauliflour


that is what i ate that day, i added it and it ended up to be not much over 1000 calories. I do not know how to eat not large portions, but eat the amount of calories i need to lose weight. HELP!!!

If you need more calories but are eating small meals, you need to eat more meals or increase the meal size. If you eat six meals and they're each 300 calories thats 1800 right there.


Whats the easiest way to lose all around body fat?
and please don't say diet pills. or plans.

I doubt diet pills help very many people. There's really no good evidence to suggest that they actually work. Good workouts for weight loss are aerobic, like running, biking, or swimming. Naturally, these types of workouts are more effective when they're longer. Less than 30 minute workouts are good for maintaining health, but the effects of exercise seem to be much more pronounced if the regular workout is 30 mins or longer.

Don't focus on a six pack right away because as your improve your fitness a six pack is gonna be the last thing that happens to your body as you get into shape. Six packs aren't easy and they never will be. To have a visible six pack you're gonna need a lower than average body fat percentage. Better start working hard!

The most effective style of eating is to eat a high number of small meals so you always provide your body with energy, but not too much at once. This also raises your metabolism. If you want to eat something before or after you exercise to help build muscle or supply nutrients, then you should probably consider how you eat regularly so you can eat it as the most effective time.


(please no lectures about what foods in this list you think i should or shouldn't be eating, i'm going to eat what i like, i just want to do it in the right moderation for a maintainable weight).

If I stay at or below 1500 calories a day and I work out for about 10-20 min a day 4-5 days a week (doing things like aerobics, belly dancing, yoga, running) will i lose a natural flow of weight?

(to give you an idea of what i will eat...i have some health shakes (160 calories per serving) that are like ensure where you can drink them when you are busy or to replace a meal but they have a meal supply of nutrients- 2 of those, a grilled chicken sandwich with no sauce at 400 calories, 2 ice cream sandwich bars that are 100 calories each, and a pack and a 1/2 of ramen at about 300 calories and i usually drink water but let's go ahead and add in 3- 8oz glasses of arizona iced tea at 90 calories per serving...1490 calories for the day.

i just want something regular that i can enjoy and keep up with. that is what i am doing right now. I just haven't made it totally regular yet. (link)
I don't know how you're planning to eat but less than 1200 calories sounds awfully low. If you're going to be exercising every day (honestly putting forth real effort) then you're going to need more calories than that. One of the least understood, damaging practices is starving yourself to lose weight. The exact opposite effect occurs. Starving yourself causes your body to go into fat storage mode.


I recently started running and today was my second day to do it. I never was a big runner, but I noticed that I can hardly run at all (actually, I spend most of the time fast-walking) because I get out of breath so quickly and my chest hurts so bad I can't inhale fully and there's really hard pressure on my lungs.

Am I just way out of shape or is there something else wrong? Will this get better the more I exercise?

Running is hard, and very hard at first. Its a very long practice to get better, but if you run a few times a week (or even every day) you can get a lot better. Running is also a mental thing as well. Even if you're out of breath and your lungs and legs ache, keep on running. Try and run further without walking every time.

I don't really think meds are the best answer. They'll just distract from why you're depressed rather than solving the problem. It could be hormonal and related to puberty, in which case I just suggest to relax and be positive.

Technically it might be possible, but the odds are extremely low. It's probably more likely for you to get struck by lightning if you're both wearing underwear. :P

I'm curious if I can well have sex... Or kids... I wanna try so bad... But I haven't even dated anyone yet... My only real goal is to have a family... Lately, it's been bugging me that I might not get the chance... I've had my period for 3 years- since Feb. I thats happened is spotting... I know it hasn't exsactly regulated, but does that mean something? It's been harder than normal to get have my own babies/kids outta my head. I've been getting strange dreams/nightmares involving such- I get pregnant lose the baby basiclly... Am I just getting worked up over nothing? I'm at a lost here, any suggestions? Help would be greatly appreeshated.

A lot of girls your age want to have babies and children, but this is a bad idea. It will be so much better for you and your kids if you wait until you are older. Enjoy having no responsibilities while you're this young.


Has anyone tried to do these sruveys where you get paid to do them. I live in a small town now and it is a little combersome to get a new job that is close to home. I would enjoy working from home and I have all day to be on the computer so I wouldn't mind doing the surveys. Has anyone successfully done it and gotten a check? Do you know a good company?

Those surveys are probably scams. It's extremely hard to get started, and considering the economy today do you really think anyone can afford to pay people big bucks just for taking generic surveys?


If I do 5-10 minute exercises throughout the day instead of 1-50 minute exercise, will it have the same effect, because I am still burning the same ammount of calories right? assuming I do a 10 minute workout at 170 calories burned.

I can't answer you for sure, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to be nearly as effective as a 50 minute exercise. The point of exercise is to tire out your body so that it must become more healthy in order to keep up with the stress you put on it. You need to send a message to your body that says it needs to cut weight or that your heart and lungs need to be stronger. You do this by exercising beyond what's easy for you.
