15/f I believe that's how you spell it? It's the pill, I think. Well....my friend has been talking about it. And she said that it works to remove a person's acne. But she said that there are some SERIOUS side effects (or could be). The thing is, I told my dad that it's a pill...and my dad's like a health freak. He, right away, assumes that Acutane is a steroid. and he tells me that there are hormones, and something bad will happen. Well, my acne's pretty damn bad. And I've been trying almost EVERY single on-the-counter acne medication (including proactiv) and nothing seems to work. This is probably like my last chance. But I can't convince my dad. :( is there anything healthy about acutane with which I can prove to my dad that it's helpful? Thanks so much! (link)

Hey! I was on Accutane for awhile. Worked like a charm.:) Accutane is NOT a steroid. It is basically a big dose of Vitamin A (its not made of Vitamin A, but very closely related). In my extensive research of Accutane, I've found very few health benefits besides the disappearance of acne.:) Cystic acne HURTS!
May I suggest something else. Have you asked a dermatologist about cortisone (which is a steroid) shots? They inject the cystic acne with cortisone and it disappears within no time (usually 3 days in my case). What about Minocin? Minocin is an antibiotic I was on for about a year. It subsided my acne for awhile. My acne did come back, and then I went on Accutane.
If you're really set on getting on Accutane, feel free to ask me about the process of getting on it and all that good stuff. It is generally more difficult for females to go on Accutane than males.

Make sure you're getting the recommended 8 cups of water a day. If you don't get enough water, your body will retain water because it thinks it's going to get dehydrated.
Exercise! Sweating obviously gets rid of water.
Limit salt intake. Salt affects your kidneys and blood pressure. The sodium in salt makes your kidneys hold on to water instead of excreting it. MSG, or monosodium glutamate, also contains sodium.Read your labels for "MSG" or "hydrolyzed vegetable protein," which contains MSG, and avoid these foods as much as possible.

Yeah, vegetarians can eat animal crackers. I don't think vegans will eat animal crackers because they contain some dairy products.
Just as a side note, vegetarians won't eat gelatin or animal fat. This includes Top Ramen (the seasoning contains animal fat), Barbeque chips (Contains chicken fat), Tropical Skittles (Contains gelatin), and even Jello (contains gelatin)

I'm having my braces removed in a couple of days. I'm concerned though, 'cause the dentist said that it's a 2-day process.
I got them on October 31st, 2005 (no candy for me that year, i know!). So it's been like 2 point something years so far. What should I expect during and after the removal? Blood? Weird nasty tastes?...Tooth decoloration? Pain?
Also, the dentist will file my teeth 'cause they're not all similar in length. Will that hurt or bleed or anything?
And is the switch from braces to a retainer a big jump? Did anyone get braces then retainers?
I'd like to know what it was like for you guys. If you haven't had them, it's ok, i'd still like to know what you think awaits me!

When I got my braces removed, there was no blood, nasty tastes or discoloration. I did however, get the chipped off glue all in my mouth but the hygienist gave me some water to rinse it out. There really shouldn't be any discoloration as long as you've cleaned your teeth well while you had braces. When I had my first set of braces removed, I had little white (whiter than the rest of the tooth) squares around where the brackets were. My orthodontist told me those were actually the first stage of cavities and they're permanent.
As far as the filing goes, it feels about like the slight sharpness you feel when you get a cavity drilled. My orthodontist didn't give me Novicane when I had the filing done. It didn't take very long and was only slightly painful.
The switch from braces to retainer isn't too bad. The worst part is having to remember to wear it and keep up with it. A word from the wise-- DO keep your retainer in its case. Don't just leave it on your counter or nightstand without it being in the case. I did that and now my retainer is falling apart. Parts of the plastic has started to chip off and it has a small crack in it, which makes it fit loosely around my teeth.

so i bought wax so i could do my own eyebrows. So anyway everytime i put the hot wax on my eye brows and then get a piece of wax paper to pull it off the wax doesnt come off with the wax paper. What am i doing wrong? (link)

You've GOT to make sure your skin is COMPLETELY clean of oils and lotions BEFORE you apply the wax. Basically, wash your face before you wax. Otherwise, the wax will not work. As all the people below me are saying, you must wait a few minutes for the wax to dry.

how do you cash checks at a gas station?

is there a fee for it? because i know at like walmart and places there is...
what happens to the check after it is cashed? couldnt they cash it at a bank and get the money since its signed?

If you're cashing a check at a gas station, make the check out to the gas station. For example, if you want to cash a check at Exxon, make the check payable to Exxon in the amount you need.
After the gas station gives you the cash, they bring the check to the gas station's bank. From there, their bank draws money from your account and puts it in the gas station's account.
The only way just ANYONE could cash your check and get personal money for the check is if you make the check payable to cash. YOU SHOULD ONLY MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO CASH AT YOUR BANK.

Ok, so my mom installed this internet filter called CyberPatrol. It's really annoying because it won't allow me on way too many sites! It pops up for the most unnecessary reasons!!! usually its for "chat", "glamour and intimate apperal" and "drugs alcohol and tobacco"!!!! I'm a 13 year old girl and this Stupid filter isn't allowing me to Chat with my friends or shop or even allow me on any websites were they even Mention the word cigarettes! Please help me! 1.tell me if you agree with me. 2. I don't want to know how to hack into cyberpatrol, but I want to know how to get my mom to be reasonable with me! Is It because she doesn't trust me? Does she think I'm gonna go on 'adult' websites? PLEASE DO NOT tell me that she just wants to 'protect' me from junk on the internet, because that's not the problem!

I haven't been to the mall in about a month, so I have no idea if the clothes are on sale, but you can order clothes online and return them to the store. I doubt you'll get shipping reimbursed, but you should get the price you paid for the clothes and tax.

Alright, to start off, my best friend is in major LOVE with the band Relient K. I thought for her birthday it would be intresting to get her tickets to go see them. There are 1 parent going, and 3 other girls, me and her. Tomarrow the 3 other girls are comming over. We are going to figure out a way to present them to her at her party [ since most of the people at her party either wern't a part of it or wern't allowed to go. How should we approach this? Put the tickets somewhere not easily found. Start off by giving her a clue in a birthday card that leads to another clue that would lead to another clue and so on.
For example, hide the tickets in the glove compartment in one of her parent's car. Give her a card that says, "your present is in your room under something [insert the color of whatever the next clue is hiding under]". Then on the clue hidden in her room, put another clue leading somewhere else.
Don't hesitate for me to clarify. :)

Most likely to the dealership. For instance, if you ordered a car from Volkswagen's website, it'd probably be delivered to your local Volkswagen dealer. You might want to call the company's website (I'm sure they have a phone number or some way to contact them.)and ask them.

Hi. Of course you can buy them online. I ordered mine through my hair stylist. You could possibly buy one at Linens And Things. I've never seen the flat iron there, but I've never looked. I have seen the CHI blow dryer there by one of the registers before.

In addition to what the columnist below me said, go to yellowpages.com and search for formal wear and bridal shops (yes, bridal shops)in your area. Call them and ask if they carry the dress that your looking for. Be sure to have the style number or any other means of identification for the dress handy. I recently went through this.
A note about purchasing dresses online--many online stores can sell you cheap replicas of the dress, claiming to be the designer's dress. The quality of the dress will be inferior to the real designer's dress--not what you want on prom night.

What does sun lotion actually do and do to your skin? Is those things that say SPF15 and stuff a sun lotion or are they in a different category?

When you refer to "sun lotion", I'm not sure if you mean a sunblock lotion or a tanning aid. I'll assume you mean a sunblock lotion, but forgive me if I'm wrong.
Sunblock works by blocking or absorbing ultraviolet light. All sunscreens are labeled with an SPF, or Sun Protection Factor. The SPF acts like a multiplying factor. If you would normally be OK in the sun for 10 minutes and you apply an SPF 10 sunscreen, you will be OK in the sun for 100 minutes. In order for the sunscreen to work, however, you have to apply plenty and it has to stay on. You should apply it about half an hour before going out in the sun (or the water) so it can bind to your skin -- if you don't, then it is very easy for the sunscreen to wash off.
The SPF rating, by the way, applies only to UVB radiation.
