I've been single for 2 years now, and my confidence is going down because of it. I've finally found a great guy, and I'm really starting to like him. We hang out in a group of 4 of us (2 guys, 2 girls). We spend a lot of time together, and we're all getting to be very, very close. I'm not sure how to get him to realize I like him as more than a friend. I know he likes the girl to initiate things, but I don't want to say anything, him say no, then ruin our friendship. How should I go about things?

Honestly you cannot make him just figure this out on his own. It's scary when you have to do it, but just say it. Tell him you like him, and if he likes you too, then great! If not, there's always more boys out there, and you two just aren't meant to be. You're only 17 though, boys just add drama to teenage lives. Don't think you need a boy to be happy, just live your life :)
I just have a few quick questions on tampons. I have used them before, once or twice. I was in gym one day and one of the girls had told me that if I use a tampon in the water, there is a chance the tampon will absorb some water from the pool. Is this true? With a regular tampon? And is there any chance I'll leak in the pool? With a regular tampon?
Also, I've tried a few times to look up TSS online, but I really don't understand it. Can you please explain it to me a bit?

I'm not sure about the absorbing water thing, but I kind of think that would be untrue since there's no water going into your vajay hah.
When you go into water, your period stops for about an hour so honestly you could go in the pool without it but that's pretty gross hah, there's really a very small chance of leaking.
TSS: Toxic Shock Syndrome. When you leave your tampon in for more than about 7 hours it could cause serious complications and it can be fatal. It's a very rare, but serious problem. To prevent it, wear a pad at night and change your tampon often.

If you're under I think 18, but it might be 17 then it's a required thing. And there is no way to change your age if you are under 18 or 17. Just put in your headline thing "Email to add: ____" or something, and then go to customize profile and change it so that you have a headline showing up. That's for 2.0 though hah

what a way to get a guys attention? i feel like i had it, and then now completely lost it. i know he was attracted to me and it's not like i'm super shy but i want to know how to get his attention back. is there something i should or should NOT be saying or doing?
He lost interest. It happens, if you honestly MUST have his attention back and no way can get over it. Play hard to get. He probably found a new girl who caught his attention, he already knows you. You're old news, new girls are more mysterious. It's hard to explain.

i have moderate acne...its pretty much just around my mouth area and like 2 on my forehead...ive been on these pills subscirbed by my dermotologist and she gave me this wash and lotion and ive been using that for like a month and the only thing the wash does it dry out my skin and make me get more pimples...i have clean and clear morning burst (orange with microbeads) and i hear that clean&clear works for alot of people and also that stuff that dries out your skin just gives you more pimples...should i try clean and clear? or something softer for my skin?
Okay, I struggled with acne for the longest time. I tryed putting soo much crap on my face it was horrible.
The way things work are different for every single person. It can take anywhere from 2 weeks to begin working to about 3 months. I've as well been on pills for it, for a longer time than you and mines still in the process of clearing up.
Do NOT ever combine products, it can burn your face and actually make you get more acne. Only use what your perscribed! :)
alright i was fine on monday and tuesday of this week. But I gained weight from winter break, so right on monday i started dieting and exercising for 30min, until wednesday. I think I overdid my exersice on tuesday, i did a bunch of cardio moves. Tuesday night, about two hours after my exercising I remember not feeling to well, so I decided to go to bed. And I didnt go to bed late, i went at 10:30 reading a book. Well I couldnt sleep that night. My body ached EVERYWHERE. My head hurt so badly. I peed three times that night, but I dont remember drinking anything before I went to bed. And when I tried to walk I felt like passing out, I couldnt walk straight, it was dizzy. I was up every hour, I even cried because it hurt so badly. So I stayed home from school that day. Next day, I felt ok, so i decided to go to school. Right before 1st period, I was sweating like a dog, and the temperature outside was -2. My friend took me to the nurse and I had a fever, so my dad came and picked me up. By the end of the day I felt better. Today, I actually slept for 8 straight. But my throat hurts sooooooooo badly!!! And my nose is so stuffed up! I have been taking tylonel severe cold pills which seem to be working a little bit. And ive had diareheea like twice, during this whole sick incident. I know I have been under ALOT of strees lately. Parents are considering a divorce soon, and alot of other things have been happening that I cannot really explain. I want to get better. Help me at least get my throat and nose feeling better. im 15/f/oh

Drink clear liquids. Eat chicken noodle soup. That's actually good for you, not an old house wives tale. It had natural antioxidants in it which will make you better. You have the flu, I had it 2 in the last month. Trust me, it sucks. You'll just have to wait it out, theres nothing you can really do =/ I'm sorry!

According to, I think, the Mayan Calendar (I'm not quite sure about that though) they do suggest the world will end in 2012. I also graduate that year and fear the same things of course. The thing that really worries me about that is the fact that the Mayan Calendar has apperantly predicted many events, such as 9-11, and never been wrong. Just live like thers no tomorrow, cause you never know. Don't do anything that could mess your life up though..
I'm a Halloween baby, so I love haunted houses and everything that shows up around my birthday. My boyfriend (21), however, doesn't. It's not that he doesn't like haunted houses, it's that he has a tendency to knock out the people when they jump at you (reflex). He's a big guy and it tends to get him in trouble, but I really wanted him to come with me and my brother this year since my bro and I hit a bunch of them (trying to find the spookiest and such).
Any ideas how we could compromise here so I can get my boy to celebrate with me and not get hauled off for assault?
Honestly there's not really anyway, its a reflex. However try holding his hand on the way through and make him go in the middle so he's not the one getting scared first and noone can scare him from behind. Make sure he remembers its not real and just for fun :)

I can't believe I have this issue but here it is. When I was 16 I had an affair with a teacher at my high school it went on for 2 years and he was my first love. Anyway we saw each other sporadically until I graduated from college. Fast forward I went to medical school and during my residency I met this incredible guy and after 8 months we moved in together. He never spoke much of his dad, his mother and father never married so not only do they have different last names he only saw his father during the summer. Anyway, he invited me to his mother's for 4th of July and suggested we stop by his dad's we did and I couldn't believe it, it was surreal. Anyway Doug and I acted like we hardly knew each other and Garret and I left shortly thereafter, now we're back home and I don't know what to do, Doug has called me twice saying we should talk but what am I going to do. Garret is all I have ever dreamed of but how do you tell the man you want to marry you lost your virginity to his father, or if I don't tell him, things like this have a habit of coming out and I don't want to marry him and ten years later he finds out and feels betrayed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, basically I was on my Sidekick slide (We call them Hip Top slides here but they're the EXACT same thing) and it suddenly turned off. It now won't turn back on. It had about half battery left, and I've attempted to recharge it. When I do recharge it the red light comes on, but the screen showing the battery icon doesn't come at all. No matter how many times I press the on button, or hold it down it won't turn on.
It just randomly switched off and won't go back on.
It's under warranty so I'm taking it back to the shop on the weekend, I just thought I'd ask here first.

all our cabins next to a lake with about 170 people there in total.. we went canoeing together (me and darien) and...i sat on the swings alone..and he sat with me and we had a swinging contest :P i WON..hahahahhaha

While we were on the canoes people said "SERENA THIS ISN'T A ROMANTIC GET AWAY!" and they were kidding cause they had a foolish wild grin on their face but those people all knew about my secret with darien.

and it sucks...being stuck on that boat with the dude you like...and being embarassed so i just coughed unconditionally several times and said i was fine (i didn't know what else to do!)
i kept thinking to myself...it done..he knows... becuz funny thing is..when we land the canoe onto shore my friends see my and darien and they yell. "OH MY GOD SERENA I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!" and gave me the thumbs up.
i just laughed...and ran to the swings..he joined me and we had fun...
OK now heres the other part
So we had encouragement notes..where we can each write anyone in the retreat a note...and put it in their mail box ...
he wrote me one..he drew us on a canoe and said hope you had a great retreat and goodtimes on teh canoe and swinging :) see ya later!
i was so happy...
and i was even HAPPIER when i found out that none of my girl friends from yg got one from him.
then of course when retreat ended we talked a lot on AIM.

i think that there is some sort of undeniable chemistry between you two, but who's to know for sure unless one of you speaks up and says something. only do that if you're comfortable with saying 'i like you more than a friend' and you're willing to take the good or the bad outcomes because sometimes you just have to put yourself out there. that's what life is going to bring.
okay, this is kinda long. so i've been trying to unlock my 8g iphone for TMobile. every time i pull up itunes (its required i guess to work iLiberty+)it says i need to restore the phone or update software, so i do that. then i start ilberty, and it says the phone wont go into recovery mode, and tells me to keep repeating the process. the phone keeps telling me to connect to itunes, then when i restore factory settings it wont continue with the process. what am i doing wrong??? i keep going in circles

well, i'd love to be a help but i don't have an iPhone. Or t-mobile for that matter. However, im not sure if you tried this or not but go to google and type in something such as "iPhone help for t-mobile" or call t-mobile tech support. Sorry i wasn't much of a help !
