I just started going to a boarding school liek a month ago. Recently I've been feeling like I'm always fighting back tears. I've been way too overremotional. And it's not just because of pms- because my emotional side effects that go along with that are not this extreme ever. I'm really homesick and I hate being here for a lot of reasons and I don't have any friends or a boyfriend.
I'll be trying to do something and all of a sudden tears will start to smoulder in my eyes. Especially when anyone asks me some kind of question- even if it's normal... I'll start crying (or nearly, but fighting the urge) at the drop of a hat.
What's wrong with me?
(ps: i've already passed puberty so that's not it)

I've been going to a boarding school for 3 years and my first two months were horrible! My school is in New England so its really preppy, and I live in Montana, which is thousands of miles away, so I didn't feel like I fit in at ALL at first. I hated it. I cried all the time and was just extremely homesick. But now that I'm used to it and I've made a lot of really good friends, I can't even imagine going to school at home. Trust me, it gets better. My only advice is to be outgoing and optimistic because boarding school is tough, and you need to really fight to make it a good experience. Being homesick is normal..I'm sure most of the new students at your school are extremely homesick. Just make an effort to get involved and get to know people and you will grow to like it.

If you get soap in your eyes all the time, can that deduct your eyesight?

No, eyes are pretty used to washing foreign objects and liquids out and unless the soap is really strong...like hydrogen peroxide strong..it shouldn't affect your eyesight. No matter how often it gets in your eyes..they will just keep expelling it and probably won't become damaged. There are many other things that do ruin your eyesight that you should be way more worried about...like staring at a computer screen for too long, sitting too close to a tv, and looking at the sun..so don't worry about the soap

sorry i didn't know what to put this under but, i have a problem with my makeup staying on for a long time. No matter what i do it just wont stay on for more than an hour unless i keep puttin it on, especially the eyeliner. Any tips on how to get the eyeliner to last longer atleast? (link)

I don't know how to make eyeliner last longer, but I do know that Revlon Colorstay stays on all day. And it doesn't smudge.

When dicks are soft they are a little shorter, but not four inches. If his was only 4 inches when he was soft, then there is no way that he is 8 inches, even when hard. The most he can be when hard is about 6 inches, if even that. But guys always brag about their dick size.

my right eye has been hurting a lot today and I don't know why. The only thing i can think of to compare the pain to is when you get a sty. It feels exactly like that, but I'm pretty sure I don't have a sty. But just in case I do, I have a few questions...I wear contact lenses, so should I not wear them until the pain goes away? And if it is a sty, what should I do to make it go away?

Starting last year I got what felt like a sty in my eye but it turned out to be an eye ulcer and now I get them like once every two months. So you should really go to the eye doctor, and if it is an ulcer, they'll tell you to not wear your contact until it goes away, and they'll give you a prescription for this medicine called Vigamox that makes it go away in like 1 or 2 days. If its not an ulcer it'll probably go away on its own if you don't wear contact lenses. Also, you might want to try cleaning your contacts with clean care solution...the kind that you have to leave for 6 hours so it can turn from hydrogen peroxide into water.

hi, well you cant smoke marihuana and drink alcohol at the same time can you? someone told me you cant, so how long would i have to wait after ive smoked the marijuana, to drink alcohol. thanks.

Its ok to smoke marijuana before you drink but if you smoke it after drinking it can make you sick. I've smoked it after drinking, though, and nothing really happened. That's just the general rule..smoke first.

ill help 321 is actually wrong, you have a much lower chance of getting pregnant while on your period. But there still is a chance! And some girls do, some girls don't. If both the girl and the guy are up for it, its not a big deal. If you put a dark towel down underneath its usually not too messy. For most girls, their cycle pauses while having sex so there's not even any blood. And it makes cramps go away!

If you've changed your eating habits, and especially if you're a teenager, then it might just be a change in your cycle. However, 2 weeks is a big difference, so you may want to buy a couple pregnancy tests. And in the future..don't have unprotected sex. Its just not worth it. If you don't want to make a guy wear a condom, at least get started on pills. Some clinics give you a free prescription and your parents don't even have to know.

I always have to pee. I drink more than everyone else I know but I don't get why I always have to pee. like as soon as I pee and walk 2 steps- i immediately have to pee again. It's annoying.

You may have a bladder infection. When you pee, if only a little bit comes out, then you have to pee again soon, its probablyyy a bladder infection. If you are peeing normally, and it doesn't burn or anything, but you just have to pee really often, its probably just an overactive bladder and perfectly healthy.

my parents are being totally unfair cau i really want contacts but they say im not going to get them. they say they dont want me to get an infection or something like that, and they say they cost a whole lot more then glasses so is there any way i can get my parents to buy me contacts? caus im already 16 and i look like a total nerd wih glasses. Tell your parents that you will be really responsible about it, and you will take your contacts out every night and clean them in clean care (this hydrogen peroxide stuff that kills all of the bacteria on your contacts) Let them know that as long as you take care of your contacts and your eyes, an infection isn't gonna happen. And tell them that in high school..glasses are not ok. If you play sports or anything like that, explain how much easier sports will be with contacts. And about the cost..I don't know how to help you with that but 1-800-contacts is cheaper than getting them from your eye doctor.

and the thing is- i'm already feeling homesick. Everyone here already knows eachother and I'm practically the only freshman!
I'm not preppy or shallow or anything but EVERYONE ELSE IS!!!! that's what makes me so uncomfortable with the people here.
any advice about how to not feel homesick is appreciated.

I go to a boarding school, too, and I'm guessing yours is in New England, considering you think everyone there is preppy. I started going to my school, Hotchkiss, as a freshman and I came a few days early for volleyball preseason. My first couple days, I HATED it. All of the freshmen on my floor were there for field hockey preseason, so they were extremely preppy. I just didn't fit in, as a small-town girl from Montana. But after a while I started to meet some people that didn't fit the New England boarding school stereotype. Soon you'll figure out that the cool thing about boarding school is that there are different people from all over the place, so there are different personalities, even when it seems like everyone is the same. You've just got to take the time to find the people who are going to be really interesting and easy to get along with. Don't worry, you'll make friends, and boarding school is hard, but I have grown to love it.

Maybe they think that you are too forward..a lot of guys are turned off by girls who make the first move. But a lot of skater guys have a certain "type" they like to date..I have a friends with benefits thing going on with a skater guy and I think he is afraid to take the next step towards a relationship because I'm not as edgy as some of his ex-girlfriends. But if they are too shallow to get to know you as a person and if they judge you solely on your looks, then you don't want to date them anyways. I've never heard anywhere that skater guys don't like black women, though. You should attempt to get to know them and let them get to know you before you ask them out so they can see that you're not the stereotypical black girl.

My armpits get sweaty alot, even though i apply Degree men's antipersperent deoderant everyday. I dont know which kind to use now, because though i apply alot, i still sweat and im going into high school now, so i wont have tim everyday to reapply. Even when i do, i still sweat. Then, yellow marks appear under my armpit area, stained on my shirt. I can not wear tight t-shirts anymore becuase of this. What should i do? (link)

I used to have the same problem as you and I tried EVERYTHING. I tried not using soap, I tried every deodorant known to men, I tried dri-sol and all those prescription type anti-perspirants, and I tried baking powder. But finally I found something that works! Google "maxim sensitive wipes" and order them online. They're not very expensive but I SWEAR they work like a charm. Use them before you go to bed.

25f since i was a junior in high school I've known of this guy, extremely popular, so I was shy around him, we had like a couple conversations while in high school but not much. Then college came and went, I never thought I'd ever get a chance to really know him. But he came back, and is now working as a bouncer at a sportsbar that I go to a lot. We talk now, he teases me, I catch him staring all the time at me, and he doesn't look away when i catch him, we've had one sexual encounter, not sex, but it was 2 years ago, he's always doing things like snatching my cigarette out of my hand so he can get a hit of it, always lurking around whenever I'm sitting with a guy. He's been in my head for 9 years and I know that he's probably not the type to settle down any time soon, and I want to move on, but I can't seem to, because in my mind he's perfect, he's like a God, I feel like I need to have another sexual encounter with him in order for me to see him as just a regular human being, because I need to move on with my life and find someone that does need to settle down, so should I try to seduce him in order to get over him? Although I'm only 16, I've been in a very similar situation, and now I am over the guy, so I think my hindsight might be helpful to you. I barely knew this guy that went to a school in my hometown (I didn't go to that school) but I thought about him all the time. He was very attractive, but very into girls and definitely not the type of guy I would want a serious relationship with. At the beginning of the summer I hung out with him a few times and he flirted with me a lot and one day at a party I had a..as you call it.."sexual encounter." Afterwards I was still obsessed with him but a few days later I left for Europe and was gone for a few weeks but I thought about him during the whole trip and when I came back I wanted to hook up with him again. But I never got a chance to, because I only saw him like once or twice afterwards. Finally, I just focused on other guys and I now have a fling with a guy who is perfect for me, and it helped me get over the first guy fully. Now, I don't get that funny feeling in my stomach whenever I see him or hear his name. So I'd say to just move on and focus on other guys..because hooking up with him again won't provide closure, it will just make you more attached to him.

I have never heard that song but if you go to www.pandora.com and type in a song or band that you like, they play you a list of full-length songs that are similar to that song or band. Its free and really nice for finding new music.

Each guy looks for something a little different, but I'm guessing 13/14 year old guys are looking for girls who don't want to be toooo committed. They are probably not looking for a super serious relationship..just someone to have fun with, someone to make out with, someone who can come over even when their parents are home and just watch a movie or something, someone who won't mind if they spend time with their friends. As for what TYPE of girl..it really depends on the guy.
