I like this boy! Ok well i think he likes me. We talk and stuff but when we same to talk we both look in each others eyes and hold the gaze for like 3 seconds. Then finally he will quickly smile and look away.

Do you think he likes me?
I'm pretty sure he does....

Thanks. (link)
I think that he likes you... and you like him! Maybe you could organize a group date, like to the movies or something, and see how it goes... Good luck!

Just wondering...what makes you guys like someone/want to be their friend?

I'm switching schools and I want to start over again and hopefully make some new friends. (link)
It's true- just be you! But you have to break the ice with people first. When you meet someone new, smile and introduce yourself. Ask their name, and get a conversation going. You may get some helpful advice about the school/ teachers as well as a new bud! Good luck!

I need alllllllllllll you chicks out there to help me out. Boys too. I'm trying to write a book, Smooth Boys, Smoother Girls. About WHY boys are sooo smooth and why they have power over girls. Please girls, boys help me out over here!

Why are boys so smooth? (link)
Well, the boys that are smooth with the ladies usually think that they are 'all that'. Sometimes they are, sometimes not, but they all carry themselves like they're a movie star. They have a way of flashing a secretive grin that's public at the same time, making everyone around them feel like the smile was just meant for them. Oh, those smooth, suave guys! What are you going to do? Anyhoo, hope I helped!

so i had a dream that i had a baby, in my dream my baby was like 1 or 2 years old i think. i was so happy, even though im only 15, i was ecstatic to have my own baby, he was adorable. which i dont think is true in real life. i love babies and i am excited to have one, but not for a long time. then last night i had a dream that i was pregnant, and super excited again. i have this thing where sometimes what i think about, comes true, honestly. my mom and grandma had it too. like its not like we can tell the future or anything, but lots of times were talking about something or something happens, that i previously dreamed or thought about. does this possibly have anything to do with my pregnant dreams? i am worried it means something will happen, or whatever. any advice? thanks much! btw: i currently am not sexually active, but am on birth control, for other reasons, if that helps =] (link)
Your dream/ thought experience is called a Deja Vu, French for 'been here before', roughly. Most everyone experiences them at one time or another, usually very rarely, and no one really knows why. They're cool, huh? Well, I can't tell you what the baby dream means, if anything... Are you thinking that it might be a Deja Vu dream? One clue, for me, is that I AM the character, looking through my own eyes and not from above like a movie. For now, I would just regard them as nice dreams, and hold on to the joy that they bring to you in those moments. Hope that I helped!

Okay, so I scored a job interview!! I'm so excited.

This will be my second job interview, my first one was for my old job, you can tell I got the job.

I don't have a resume as I've only ever had one job and don't have any school achievements :(

What should I take, and what should I say? Should I remember my first job interview and remember what I did last time to score the job? (Answering HONESTLY, not lying or even exaggerating to get the job and trying to appear calm) (link)
Well, that kind of depends on the job that you want. Try to be as groomed and respectful as you can for the interview. Dress in fairly nice clothes- jeans are generally out. Shake your interviewer's hand and address them as sir/mam. That will earn you a few points. Well, talk to the interviewer truthfully- they like to hear positive statements about your personality (I like to work with people, I am an optimist, ect.) but they also like to hear you admit to some sort of weakness, showing that you're not an egotist. Be as positive and complete in your answers to their questions as you can (don't say just "yeah") and smile. Try to get a recommendation from your last job. Hope I helped. I wish you the best of luck in your job interview!

I'm in high school, 15/f, a freshmen and it seems like everyone in my school besides me drinks and does drugs. I will NEVER drink or do drugs because it ruins your life...but at lunch one day, my friends were all talking about how they went to one of my friends house, let's call her A, and how A's mom was home and they still got away with drinking vodlka and beer and getting crunk together. Only one of my friends had a sip of vodkla and nothing else at the party but all of the sudden I was sooo mad. The day before the party, my friend who only had a sip of vodlka [lets call her F] was like, to A, "yeah, I'll have a drink, and I'll get close to drunk." and A was like, "F! I am sooooo proud of you! You don't know how proud I am of you that you are going to get drunkk!" and I got sooo mad at that I just bursted out and said to A, "Why is that something to be proud of?!" and A was like, "Because F swore off everything remotley related to drinking and drugs, so I am sooo proud of her that she even said that right now." and I was like, "well, I'm not going to drink and I'm not doing drugs." and everyone at the lunch table just looked at me except for my other friend, lets call her S, agreed with me. Then I didn't go to A's party and Monday I heard some pretty bad stories like of the people getting drunk and how they got it all on video...it like made me mad.
I'm mad, and I thought higher of my friends and now they all think I'm a loser, except for F and S, because I don't want to drink and do drugs. What should I do? any comments will be greatly appreciated and thanks ot all of you who read all of that because I know it was confusing and long.
(link)
First of all, I want to say that I am so proud of you for not compensationg your standards! Sometimes it's hard to be in a situation like that. You will be better off in the end for sticking to what you believe.
Well, I am not in your shoes, but if I were, I would still try to be very respectful of the people that went to the party. They don't have the same standards as you, and maybe that was their first indroduction to the concept that... wow, maybe teenage drinking is wrong! Maybe drugs are more trouble than they are worth. It sounds like S has the same standards as you- I'm proud of her too! But it's about time that you remove yourself from the situation that makes you feel uncomfortable, like this one. You need a group of friends that share your beliefs and support you, so you in turn can support them. You need to sit at a different table. Let your standards be known and hold your head high! Hope I helped.

I've been considering going to a counselor, but I have a few questions first.

I know that legally, the only thing they have to tell my parents is if I'm hurting myself or others.

But what about things that are illegal? Stealing things from work, smoking, drugs, drinking...would they tell anyone, even though they don't have an obligation to?

Also, are there any places that offer free counseling? I really can't afford to pay for it...

Thanks. (link)
I'm glad to see that you have a desire to change directions! Well, you may consider just going to the school counselor. They're willing to help any student as much as they can. And... sorry, but thay'll probably have to tell your parents about those things. Most people would consider drugs as something harmful to you, and taking things from someone else is also fairly serious. I hope that things work out for you.

say someone got drunk at ten one night and didnt drink anything else after, what time would they be sober at? and like does going to sleep make a difference in how long it takes? and does how much you drink affect it (link)
Really, time is the most effective way of 'sobering up'. Generally the rule is about two hours for every serving of alcohol to be out of your system, but there are a lot of variables, like age, weight, things like that. My suggestion: don't get drunk.

I plan on giving blood at my school on December 14th. I've never given blood (I only just turned 17, the age required to give). They told us to eat foods with iron and to drink lots of water so we don't pass out. I have a few phobias and two of those include needles/shots and seeing blood. I already know that if I don't pay attention to what is going on I won't be affected mentally by it, but I'm worried physically. I don't want to pass out or get sick or anything like that, so I was wondering, for those who have given blood or have worked in a setting of the such (health experts, etc.) what are some good foods to eat, beverages, anything to keep me from getting dizzy/sick, passing out, etc.

Also, if I were to pass out from it, how long would I be out? Just a few seconds? I guess it's not that big of a deal, I'm going to do it no matter what, I was just wondering.

I'd rather you not answer this if you haven't given blood before or if you're not somehow medically aware. I'm not going to get upset or something if you aren't aware - I'd just feel more comfortable with someone more experienced with this. (link)
That's great that you plan on giving blood! Well, I just gave blood for the first time in October, and it wasn't too bad. I didn't pass out, but I did get kind of sick. You won't see any of the blood, they cover up the sack and tube, and I'm sure that the medical people will take your phobia into account if you just tell them about it. All they do is put a needle in your arm and ask you to squeeze a stress ball for a few minutes. Then they take the blood away and you rest for a while. After that, they'll have you drink and eat to get your blood sugar back up again.

I need help on losing weight. (healthy ways)

What should i do? (link)
This may sound strange, but try to get enough sleep on a regular basis, and remember that sleep before midnight works better than sleep after midnight. This will help you to feel good, have energy, and encourage you to do healthy things, like working out or eating better foods, rather than grabbing the closest snack and staying stationary. Good luck!

17/f. Yesterday I had a cappucino for lunch and soon after I began to feel sick. It lasted the whole night and at about 9pm my arms started to hurt and be a little numb every now and then and my heart was racing and I could feel my heart was hurting a bit. I tried to go to sleep but stayed awake for quite a few hours. I have just woken up this morning and my pulsr is normal but my heart still hurts from working so hard or something yesterday. :S

What is wrong with me?
I was really scared. (link)
Well, I'm not a doctor, but it could be that you just overdosed on the caffeine and you should be more careful next time... or maybe your reaction needs to be investigated by someone who knows what they're talking about. Your fast heartbeat sounds really irregular, and the headache and lack of sleep seem fairly serious. Have you had coffee before? Have you had that much before? Did you have anything along with the coffee to eat? Talk to the school nurse or a doctor, they can help you out. In the meantime, lay off the caffiene.

My leg muscles are massive but theres a little fat around it too. I'm about .3 into the "overweight" BMI category, so I've got some fat. I was wondering is there's anyway to burn the fat on my legs without building anymore muscles, or if there's anyway to lose some of the muscle on my legs? I'd be so grateful.
By the way I'm female.
Thanks. (link)
Running burns fat like crazy and builds lean muscle, which sounds like what you want. Run long distances, like cross country runners. It's not uncommon for them to run 3 or 4 mile loops at practice once they're in shape. Try starting out with a mile. Good luck!

Oj, so I pop my fingers, and I know I really need to stop...but I don't know how...^^ Anyway advice will be so helpfull!

Thanks advance!! (link)
Well, popping your knuckles is not really bad for you, and it won't give you arthritis like some people say. Look it up! It's true! But one way to help you remember not to pop your knuckles is to wear a ring so that you'll feel it and remember. Wear one that't chunky or sharp so you'll be less likely to forget about it. Good luck!

What's the difference in prices for a 30g iPod video and an 80g one? No links please, just a simple answer. Thanks in advance. (link)
You'll have a hard time finding a 30 gig iPod now as Apple is only making 80g and 160g models now. Their prices, in order, are $249.00 and $349.00. You might be able to find one on ebay from someone looking to upgrade. Good luck with that!

15/f. I dislike my dad and mom. I have nothing for them, nothing against them. I don't feel anything for them. They're like nobody to me. They don't ignore me or abuse me or anything. But I can't bring myself to say "I love you guys." Because I know I'll be bullshitting everyone. I also dislike my sister. My parents get me stuff I want, and they treat me like other parents treat their daughter. But I strongly dislike them. I love being alone, untouched, in my own room. Or instead, out of the house and away from them. I hate being involved with them. And my other relatives live in another country. I don't talk with my parents, and I don't need their advice. I don't confide in them. What can I do?
Any advice? :/ (link)
Well, It's easy to lose touch and draw away from those that you come into contact with most. And it's not wierd, by any means, to feel this way at 15. But don't you WANT to be able to tell them that you love them? One simple way to do this is to do things for them without being asked- set the table or do your own laundry. Something like that will help you appreciate all that they do for you and help you realize that whether you love them or not, they love you.

hi i didn't know what category to put this under but here is my story.

i have a 30 gig ipod video,
and i know itunes doesn't allow me to upload my dvd's :(

do you know of any specific mp3 player (with video) that will allow me to upload my dvd's?
thank you! (link)
There's actually some free software that will allow you to rip movies off of a DVD on your computer. It's called HandBrake.

http://handbrake.m0k.org/

I use this for my iPod all the time. Good luck!

you see I've always been able to fit in because im just one of those girls whose cool with everyone but thats because whoever im hangin out with at the tiem I become like that group, like i'll be hangin with the preps and ill catch myself say 'like omg' ALL THE TIME! and whenim with the blondes I become one of the dumb blondes like falling over the floor, and you know just acting stupid!
and when im by myself its like im not even there cause there's now one there for me to be like so im stuck being me, which is nothin, im all quiet smile and laugh never, and im just just empty! its like im an empty vessel who changes for the people around me, and i dont get to think of what i want to do because ive never gotten that option before in my lfe so i dont know who i really am. and ive tried finding out who i want to be or who i really am and ive been unsuccessful, its like im just someone whose there to do what everyone expects me to do!!!

does anyone know whats going on with me, adn why I cant seem to find the true me? (link)
Everyone struggles with problems like these at one time or another. I think that, in order to find yourself, you should start to understand yourself. I know that you don't feel like there IS much of you inside, there is. You just need to figure out what you are like. One excellent way to do this is to start writing in a journal consistently, like once a week, every two days, even every day. Write about whatever pops into your head, and make sure that it's in a private place so that you won't feel tempted to change what you write in
case someone sees it.
I also suggest doing things that you like to do more often, whether it's going to a movie, playing an instrument, or just taking off some quality 'me' time to pamper yourself. I hope that you can feel more confident in who you are soon, and I wish you the best of luck!

I don't really like to show cleavage, I really don't know why but I'm kind of insecure about it. Instead of showing cleavage, I was wondering, what are some other good ways I could show off my body? Like any types of jeans, shirts, etc. that doesen't require showing cleavage lol. thanks! (link)
You know what, I'm actually glad that you are nervous about showing off too much. It can really ruin your reputation! The best way to "show off your body" is to show everyone that you respect it. Don't wear clothes that show off a lot of skin, or are skin tight. You can still be modest and look pretty, though. There are a lot of clothes that are flattering without being too... open. If you have a feature that you really like, accentuate it. Like your arms? Wear shorter sleeves. Like your waist? Wear something cinched around it or wear a belt there. Maybe you like your face best. In this case, you could wear simpler clothing and do your hair to frame your face. Good luck, and let your conscience be your guide!

When I'm nervous, I eat everything in sight. I'll eat a plate of cookies for all I care. I know this isn't good at alllllllll...but it's so hard to help it. Like, say there's a test coming up for me..Instead of studying, I'm too stressed out and I start eating more than I actually study! lol....at other times, when not nervous..I eat a lot. But I'm scared to get fat..and so I have to tell myself "No.This will make you fat. Dont eat it." Mostly though, I just end up eating it anyway ://////

is this normal?! 15/f. (link)
This sounds like what we call emotional eating. It's probably not the best thing for you to be doing with that nervous energy... Here's a good link that can help you. But don't worry, it's common enough throughout the womenfolk ;)

http://exercise.about.com/cs/nutrition/a/emotionaleating.htm

What are some good topics i can write about my school? I CANNOT THINK OF ANYTHING!! and my paper is due friday,

its for a school newspaper (link)
Ahhh, journalism. Well, anything that you are interested in will be fun. You could write a little blurb for all of the days in the next one or two weeks... like September 19 is International Talk like a Pirate day. And October 1 is International Day of Older Persons.

Or you could just interview a teacher that you like and write an article about your favorite class. Good luck!
