advice
ok so i just got done reading "all american girl" by meg cabot.
and at one point at the beginning it says that she "e: dyed all of her clothes black "e.
i only wear black. but i wasnt always this way, so i have A LOT of clothes that are not black....including denim jeans.
and i was just wondering how you would want to do that? because there are a lot of cute non- black shirts i have that im not willing to give up just because they arent my favourite colour! how would i dye them black PERMANENTLY???
THANKS!!
That seemed a little weird to me too, but I think it's because Samantha is such an intense character that it gives her an edge in the story. She's willing to give up her cute clothes to make a statement about society, and that's pretty bold... especially if you're going to end up saving the president. I think it just sets up the story so I definitely wouldn't recommend it in real life :)
which looks better on me?

Say you use a tanning lotion or spray or something.
When you actually go out in the sun to tan, do you get darker on top of that tan?
Or does it take the same amount of time because its not actually the sun making you tan?
You get darker on top of that tan. If you think of it this way... the sunless/gradual tanner makes your skin LOOK darker, and the sun actually does make your skin darker anyway, so it's like if you got a tan and then darkened it. Anyway, you'll be tan.
I need a prom dress. I am looking for a short, pink dress. Preferably under $400. Does anyone have any suggestions??
Thankss!!
Definitely go look at cache.com. They have some really cute short prom dresses.
alright so i got this bathing suit at american eagle, here's the link: http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/8721/aech8.jpg
so you see in the middle between your boobs.. well on mine, it's attached there by a little thread.. should i cut the thread so it looks like the picture with the two cups separate from each other? thanks! :)
It depends on what you're comfortable with. I probably would leave the thread because I don't really like having my boobs on display, but it will still be cute if you cut the thread.
Im starting that diet, where you only drink juice and water, like eat nothing or drink.
Does anyone know if that works?
Does it work? No, unless your goal is to starve your body and gain the weight back two weeks later tenfold. If you want to lose weight, do it the healthy way by eating a balanced diet. That way, the weight will stay off. With fad diets, you lose weight and then gain it all back. Plus, going on a diet like that is hell for your metabolism. A great way to lose weight is to just control your portions (doesn't matter WHAT you eat, but HOW MUCH) and exercise a few times a week. I started running several years back and it's become part of my daily routine just because I love it.
for the summer i want to have a book i can read like while im tanning or somethings.
im 15 soo nothing like too kidish or like whatever. :)
umm so have any ideas on some good books :) ?
Anything by Sarah Dessen, Meg Cabot, or Laurie Halse Anderson is AMAZING. It's teen chick-lit. Also, a book that I really love is called "Scrambled Eggs at Midnight" and it's by Barkley/Hepler. It's so cute. Also, "Dairy Queen" by Catherine Murdock is cute. If you haven't read "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants", there are four books in that series. Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series is really great too, but it's definitely not as light-hearted as the other books I've named.
what are some good songs to run to?
THANKS
Some of my favorites are:
Fuel - Jesus or a Gun
Fuel - Mary Pretends
Nirvana - Breed
Nirvana - Rape Me
Velvet Revolver - Slither
Queens of the Stone Age - 3s and 7s
Smashing Pumpkins - Zero
Smashing Pumpkins - Siva
Arctic Monkeys - Teddy Picker

this one is for girls...
im graduating this year....
what are you supposed to wear under your gown on the day of your graduation? at my school we have white gowns..
thanks!
Girls normally wear like a semiformal dress and heels under their gowns. You might want to ask your friends what they're doing in case they have better ideas than me.
does chris brown play piano cuz in his no air video he was in the end and jrdin was too
do they play piano?
I just watched the video, and no, they don't play piano. I think that on the album it's a studio musician and the piano in the video was just a prop.
Grreeattt. So im deffinitly going through puberty.
I have a dance comin up and im going to wear this strapless dress..
'PROBLEMO
i have a skin problem.
I have acne on my shoulders and my back.
Not serious but i mean visable.
ugh ewwwwwwwwwwwww. i neeed themm goonnee!
advice?
Okay, here are some things that have worked for me in the past:
Drink water only- and at least four glasses of it throughout the day. It makes you pee a lot but it helps tremendously.
For spot treatment: toothpaste. No joke. If you rub toothpaste on your zits, it dries them out and makes them go away. Just don't overuse it because it dries your face out.
Try your hardest not to touch your face during the day.
Use an exfoliating cleanser a few times a week.
Try not to cake on the makeup- it clogs your pores.
Those are things that have worked for me personally. Here are some other tips too:

Also, Neutrogena makes a body wash specifically for acne though I'm not sure how good it works.
Oh, and hopefully at the dance the lights will be dimmed. As I always say, people look prettier in the dark :) Have fun!
i have a couple of questions.
what is something you like that is in your yearbook? for example, the suprelatives or clubs
what would you like to see in your yearbook?
andddd
what dont you like in your yearbook?
if you could answer any of these questions, i'd really appriciate it ! sorry if this is in the wrong category. they didn't have a category for extra curriculars.
I like to see a lot of student involvement. I've seen yearbooks before that really don't have anything to do with the student body. My favorites are the ones that have quotes and stories about the students. Stories about interesting students are always cool- foreign exchange students, siblings who go to the same school, stuff like that. Even students with interesting hobbies- like professional barrel racing or something random. One yearbook I looked at had a page all about bands that students formed outside of school and how they relaxed by playing music.
One year when I did yearbook staff we had a page for shout-outs, where people could submit shout-outs to the staff and we would put them on the page so when their friends looked at the book they would have a message. It was pretty cool and people liked it.
We haven't gotten our yearbooks yet this year, but if I get any more ideas I may come back and edit this.
OK, I have a question.
Do people flirt with the opposite sex even when they dont like them..?
Yeah, sometimes. It kind of depends because sometimes you can accidentally flirt without meaning to. Or if you want someone to do something for you, flirting is a pretty normal thing to do.
I'm writing an essay on Romeo and Juliet and everything must be in present tense in an essay. Is "star-cross" a word?
My sentence is "Their love is based on sight, is star-crossed, bringing too many consequences, and was driven by sex. "
Razhie is right- the only "tense" part of the sentence you need to change is the "was driven by sex", which you can change to "is driven by sex." Also, so many commas can be confusing. I understood what you were talking about because I've read the play, but if someone who was not familiar with the play read your essay, they need to be able to understand what you're talking about. You might want to break that sentence in half to avoid having long, drawn-out thoughts. Example: "Their love is based on sight and is star-crossed, or __(definition of star-crossed)__."
me and my friends want to get a hotel for a weekend bu someone told me you have to be 21 to check in, is that true?
You have to be at least 18 to check in so that you can give credit card information and that type of thing. However, you could get your parents to reserve and check in to the room for you. They don't have a rule that you have to have an adult with you staying in the room, but an adult has to be liable. If your parents are okay with you being in the hotel anyway, it shouldn't be a problem for them to arrange the room.
Well my friends are always telling me how messed up my hair is. Its half wavy and frizzy and parted on the left side. Its just below shoulder length and dirty blonde. I tried a super expensive straightening bit but it was supper expensive and it didn't last as long as i had hoped. I use Aussie smooth Conditioner and Shampoo and blow dry it every morning but i live in Miami so its incredibly humid. I tried straightening it every morning but it just burned my hair. Any advice?
Here's where you can think about the phrase "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Obviously it hasn't worked for you to try to wear your hair straight, so why not work with your natural waves? Try using an anti-frizz serum (I recommend Bed Head Control Freak in the green squirt bottle) after you get out of the shower. Then, scrunch your hair using gel or mousse or both. Another thing that might have to do with how your hair behaves is your haircut. If you have dead ends and like no layers, this might not work for you so go get your hair trimmed. Also, your hair might be dried out and burned from all the heat styling, so start using a leave-in conditioner like Infusium 23 after you get out of the shower. Heat styling is not great for your hair, and it's obviously not working for you, so try scrunching your hair every now and then. It may not be super curly but you can at least get some "beachy waves" in there somewhere (and gel minimizes frizz).
how could you be half a virgin?
There's not really a such thing, unless you're talking about a line from the movie "Mean Girls" in which she means that she's not actually had sex but has done oral or something.
I'm confused. how come the firefighters didnt just put trampolines to catch the jumpers so they didnt all have to die? i know they werent prepared but after seeing dozens of people jump why didnt they? i cant imagine it.. i mean falling thousands of feet going at 150 mph.. which takes like 10 seconds from a high floor. and i hear that some people got killed from being hit by these jumpers.. can someone just explain to me how it was like and why they died when they hit the floor? and did their bodies totally break apart or pretty much stay intact? and what do you think was going through their minds as they were about to hit the ground or were about to jump? oh and why werent there hellicopters there to rescue people? i saw a vid on youtube where 2 people landed and it was a terrible racket.. its just the weirdest thought ever. please help.. and i hope this doesnt seem rude or anything. im 14 so when this happened i was only in first grade. then i thought it was funny, the thought of jumpers cause i couldnt imagine that at all. i didnt know they were actually dying and stuff.. and couldnt imagine how that could happen. thanks for the help btw. geez looking up all this 9/11 stuff now that i didnt know about sure is depressing.
Wow, lots of questions. Haha. Anyway, if you look into the laws of physics, there is a certain point where if you're a human falling through the air, your velocity gets to the point where you can't handle it and you die. So they would have died before they reached the trampoline (which wouldn't have been able to sustain that amount of velocity and weight... think of trying to stop a train with a trampoline). (Have you ever heard the urban myth that if you drop a penny off the Empire State Building, if it hits someone in the head it will surely kill them? That is also a product of velocity- even though it is a penny, it accelerates so quickly that it rips through anything in its path.) And 9/11 happened so fast that nobody knew what was going on and it wasn't entirely possible to really plan out the fact that people were jumping from the building. The towers collapsed very quickly after they were hit. As far as people getting hit by the jumpers, imagine getting hit by a train again. The jumpers most likely died before they hit the ground- it wasn't impact that killed them, it was physics. It would be very hard to know if their bodies were intact because of all the rubble and everything. I would be willing to guess no... the force of falling would have ripped at them, basically. Everything happened so fast that there was no way to save everyone, by helicopter or whatever. Besides that, there was so much dust/dirt in the air that nobody could see to get away or to go help people. It was just like big black clouds, and it was probably raining ashes too. Pretty scary. Imagine walking around in New York City and suddenly there are these loud noises, buildings falling down, people running/screaming, and big clouds of ash hurtling toward you. It's unreal.
