ok here goes....I went to the doctors yesterday and found out that I had a misscariage and although i didnt know i was preggers i feel like hell and the worst part is that i just had one this summer so its not the first time this happens but it hurts just as bad if not worst then the last time......does anyone know tips on dealing with it? (link)

While every woman will want to deal with her loss differently, here are some tips that may help you cope:
Take a Break: Take some time off work so you can focus on yourself for a few days. If possible, have your partner arrange for time off as well so you can spend time together.
Make Some Rules: Friends and family often arent sure whether it is okay to discuss pregnancy and pregnancy loss in the presence of a loved one that has recently had a miscarriage. Make things easier for yourself and for those around you by letting them know which, if any, topics are off-limits.
Get Writing: Writing in a journal is an excellent way for you to deal with your emotions. By writing honestly, you can see and reflect on what you are feeling. Additionally, studies have shown that journal writing can help quicken the recovery time during sad periods.
Do Something: Many parents find that doing something to commemorate their child helps significantly in letting go of the grief. Whether it is having a memorial service, planting a special tree, writing about your experience to help others, or creating a special website dedicated to the memory of your child, finding a special way to honor your child's memory can turn a negative situation into a positive one.
Good luck

hi, i am surprising my bf with tickets to disneyland..but i want to present it in a very cool way, like a game or something fun. any ideas? (link)
|
The Disney store sells a really cute remote control Wall E for like $20.00. You could wrap up the controller and have him roll out Wall E holding the tickets from a hidden strategic place like under the tree. Eve is on sale for $12.99. Hope that helps!

How can I whiten my teeth?
I know the dentist deal, and all that.
But I mean, different ways, products you can buy.
Things such as that.
Thanks in advance. (link)
|
The first thing you should do is avoid things that stain your teeth. Drinks such as black coffee, tea, colas, and dark colored fruit juices will really stain your teeth. Treats like popsicles and lolipops that make your tongue change color will inevitably stain your teeth. Not to mention all that sugar, especially those colas and colored juices, open up the porous surface of your tooth enamel and make stains easier to adhere - and can you say cavities?
Sauces like tomato, soy and balsamic vinegar stain your teeth. Blueberries, beets and curry also stain. Not that they should be avoided completely - these foods give you important nutrients and antioxidants. Try eating a salad before the main meal. Lettuce and spinach naturally form a protective film over your teeth and help keep stains away.
Brush your teeth after every meal. Use a whitening toothpaste. Colgate Total is the best overall toothpaste on the market. For a quick and inexpensive whitening I suggest Plus+White. You can get it at any pharmacy or supermarket and it really does work.
The best thing is to whiten your teeth naturally by watching what you eat and keeping your teeth clean and flossed. Using too many whitening products will eventually cause sensitivity and tooth enamel loss. Healthy teeth = fabulous smile.
Good luck!

i'm a junior in high school and am really clueless as to what i want to pursue in life. i have always though, had an interest in music management and in the entertainment business. does anyone know of any jobs in the music/entertainment industry that make good money & are not that hard to get into after a few years of college? if there's any info about things in nyc or even california .. please let me know. im lost as to what i should do and i'm starting to look at colleges but do not know what major i should go into. so please, anything with music/entertainment/celebrity industry careers, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! THANK YOU! (link)
|
What makes a job successful is a combination of factors - talent, education and a lot of hard work. It's amazing that at such a young age you're thinking so ambitiously about your future. With that said, keep in mind that you ARE very young and have plenty of time to figure out what want to do.
Psssst... The secret to a happy career is to work with what you love. If a job just makes money and doesn't make you happy, you'll eventually hate it.
Since the entertainment industry is so huge, maybe you should spend the next couple of years taking advantage of programs in your high school and community that could introduce you to the many aspects of entertainment. For example, see what goes on in the background with the band or the drama club (if your school is lucky enough to still have arts programs). Check out your town's arts and entertainment section in the paper and see if there are any local productions you could work with. You can do anything from usher in a theater to helping with video recording.
What's hot now may not even exist by the time you graduate from college. So take this time to try different things out. When you're ready to choose a college and a major you'll have a better idea of what you want to do with your life.
The best job in the world is a job that you love, and a job that allows you to help others.
Good luck!

Okay so im 18/F and i have canker sores. 2 on my tounge, and ones on the inside of my bottom lip. Ive gotten these types of thinks my whole life, and i know there a virus. But today i woke up, and i have one on the top back of my throat. Its really bothering me and it hurts to speak or swallow. I dont know if its the same thing as what i have on my tounge, but i would like to get rid of it fast. I dont want to have these sores when i go home to visit my family on Sunday. Is there anyone who can tell me why there would be on my throat like that, and how to get rid of it please?
Thanks! (link)
|
Anyone can get canker sores, but women and people in their teens and 20s get them more often. Canker sores may run in families, but they aren't contagious. Doctors don't know what causes canker sores, but they may be triggered by stress, poor nutrition, food allergies and menstrual periods.
Canker sores usually go away without any treatment. For pain relief, you can try taking ibuprofen (brand name: Advil) or acetaminophen (brand name: Tylenol). Other medicines, such as Anbesol, Orajel, Orabase and Zilactin-B, might keep your canker sores from becoming irritated by eating, drinking or brushing your teeth. These medicines are applied directly on the sore.
You can also mix equal amounts of Milk of Magnesia and Benadryl Allergy liquid. After it's mixed, you can swish a teaspoonful in your mouth for about 1 minute and then spit it out. If you do this every 4 to 6 hours, your canker sores may hurt less.
Some people think that sucking on zinc lozenges, taking vitamin C or vitamin B complex, using a sage-and-chamomile mouthwash or taking a lysine supplement helps their canker sores heal faster.
If your canker sores are large, last longer than 2 weeks or are so sore that you can't eat or drink, you should make an appointment to see your doctor. You should make an appointment with your doctor, too, if you also have a fever or feel sick when you have canker sores. Tell your doctor if you have canker sores more than 3 times a year.
Unfortunately, doctors don't know of anything that prevents canker sores from forming. However, using a toothpaste that does not contain SLS (sodium lauryl sulfate) or other irritating ingredients, avoiding chewing gum, hard, crunchy or spicy foods may help reduce mouth irritation. Brushing your teeth after meals, using a soft toothbrush and flossing every day will also keep your mouth free of food that might cause a canker sore. If you get canker sores often, or if they're very painful, talk to your family doctor.
Hope you feel better!

I'm on Yaz birth control. My boyfriend and I still always use a condom when we have sex, just in case.. but lately I've been wanting to have sex without a condom, but I don't know if that's a stupid decision or not.
He says he doesn't want to.. well it's not that he doesn't want to, he just doesn't wanna risk it.
So I'm just wondering... What are the odds that I will get pregnant on Yaz? Also, if there's a history of the woman in my family being very fertile, is there more of a chance I will get pregnant.. even if I am on birth control?
Any precautions I should take if I have sex without a condom? I'd appreciate any advice, thanks! (link)
|
*When taken correctly and consistently, YAZ is 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. This means that your chance of becoming pregnant is one in 100, if you take YAZ as instructed by your doctor or healthcare professional.
As for not using a condom, if your boyfriend doesn't want to risk it, don't push him. Unless you can come up with a plan he'll agree to, say like combining the pill with a spermicide. Remember, condoms also protect you from std's. Nothing else but abstinence does.
It sounds to me like he's being very responsible. Talk to him about it.

Tonight I cheated on my girlfriend, my soul mate, the only thing that is keeping me alive. What makes matters worse is that it was with a guy. She won't ever forgive me. I want to confess to her if I do I know the odd of her accepting me back are farely high. But I can't risk that. If she says that she can't be with me I will kill myself, hands down. I just spent the last 4 hours crying and debating whether or not to tell her, then I remembered that I had an account on here. I need advise. Well, I want advice but I really need to talk to her about this. She'll be coming to see me in a few days, we have a long distance relationship butive been in love with her for over 3 years now. I can't live without her. What should I do? Opinions matter a lot to me right now, thank you. (link)
|
I think you should ask yourself why you cheated on her in the first place. Long distance relationships are very difficult to maintain. They require a lot of communication. What was going on in your mind before you made the decision to cheat? There was a moment when you could have said "no", but you didn't. Why do you think that is? Think back to that moment.
As for the fact that it was with a guy, ask yourself if you question your sexuality or if you're just curious. If she is your soulmate, talk to her about this. Especially this. If you question your sexuality enough to experiment with a guy, you need to tell her before you end up committing to a relationship under false pretences. That's probably what scares people the most. There's no denying that she's going to be upset. But she'll be devastated if you string her along for years only to find out that you like men. Or maybe you're bisexual. You have to be really honest with yourself and figure out what you really want. It's hard to come to terms with your sexuality. It's hard to tell the ones you love. But it's harder to deny it and live a lie. Talk to her and tell her how you feel. I bet she would rather you be honest with her, no matter what. Chances are there'll be tears and loudness, but eventually you'll both appreciate the honesty. Maybe you'll end up being the best friends in the world. Maybe you won't speak for a while. But it's not the end of the world. It's just hard. And you have to be brave. Sometimes soulmates are just friends. Nothing wrong with that. Let me know if you need to talk more.
Good luck

So I dyed my hair earlier. (natural hair color is light brown) I went from being blonde and i got brown dye so i started dying my hair and my ends which were lighter than my roots turned a horrible blackish/blueishh/purple!!! ahhh so my hair is half brown half that gross color!!! any advise! please help!
(link)

You broke a cardinal hair rule. Don't mix colors! The only thing you can do is see professional and have the color stripped and then recolored. This process will cost a bit and may dry your hair, but it'll be one color.
Good luck!

I was in a parking lot today and hit the back of a car, which resulted in relatively little damage to the car, but a dent in the front part of my bumper. I was so shaken up I drove off, but I realized there was a lady behind me who saw me hit the car. I highly doubt she even had time to take down my license plate number, but I am getting really worried that something might happen...
Any thoughts?? I live in California, btw. (link)

This is the California Hit and Run Law with respect to property damage only:
(1) Locate and notify the owner or person in charge of that property of the name and address of the driver and owner of the vehicle involved and, upon locating the driver of any other vehicle involved or the owner or person in charge of any damaged property, upon being requested, present his or her driver's license, and vehicle registration, to the other driver, property owner, or person in charge of that property. The information presented shall include the current residence address of the driver and of the registered owner. If the registered owner of an involved vehicle is present at the scene, he or she shall also, upon request, present his or her driver's license information, if available, or other valid identification to the other involved parties.
(2) Leave in a conspicuous place on the vehicle or other property damaged a written notice giving the name and address of the driver and of the owner of the vehicle involved and a statement of the circumstances thereof and shall without unnecessary delay notify the police department of the city wherein the collision occurred or, if the collision occurred in unincorporated territory, the local headquarters of the Department of the California Highway Patrol.
(b) Any person who parks a vehicle which, prior to the vehicle again being driven, becomes a runaway vehicle and is involved in an accident resulting in damage to any property, attended or unattended, shall comply with the requirements of this section relating to notification and reporting and shall, upon conviction thereof, be liable to the penalties of this section for failure to comply with the requirements.
(c) Any person failing to comply with all the requirements of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six months, or by a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that imprisonment and fine.
If nothing happened to the car and the person behind you didn't report it, you're good to go, but the law is the law. You should never flee from the scene. If she reports it then you'll have to face the consequences.

A year ago I left a 6 yr job as a manager that I absolutely loved, but left because my boss was making my life miserable. He wasn't onsite all of the time, and apparently a disgruntled employee had complained about me, so he came to the location while I was gone on vacation began what he called an investigation. I was blind sided the minute I returned from vacation. He wrote me up for 6 different infractions, that had little to no truth, but I did not dispute these infractions because I was honestly afraid of him, and I knew because of similar situations with other managers, the company would back him anyway.
Once I left I wrote a letter stating the facts and explained the situation, but of course I did not get any response from them. I even tried to make the letter on a positive note as so not to burn my bridges so to speak.
I had never been disciplined in all my 25 years of working, and never did anything while at this job to deserve this. In fact, I pretty much had dedicated my life to this place and had a strong record of improvments in their business.
So instead of fighting for my rights, I put in my notice. Several of my employees (under me) also quit after I left and the majority thought this was very unfair.
I should note that they did not replace me---so in fact I feel he was forcing me out the door due to the profit margin of the business, especially since my disciplinary action was crazy...for all kinds of very minor things that were not as he stated. This company did the same thing to other managers about the same time.
I started my own business, which in this economy is not going well, and I am now searching for a new job. My skills were always very marketable before, and now I am lucky to even land an interview. I am wondering what this corporation may be saying about me?
Anyway, back to my real concern here. I really really miss the people I worked with, but still harbor so much resentment for what happened--and the reason I left. Maybe it is me blocking my own career process because I am so bitter about how my last job came to an end. I just can't seem to put it all behind me. Former--and some current employees still contact me just to see how I am doing, but it's been too painful for me to visit the old workplace or to get together with them. I have avoided dealing with it. I am still, after a year,am angry and hurt. Any ideas how to move on? I am not planning on investing money that I don't have in a counselor, so please don't suggest that. (link)
|
It seems that your record should have spoken for itself. It's unfortunate that you didn't fight for your job. You should have gotten together with the others in that situation and demanded a proper investigation. Unless you're willing to sue for wrongful termination, or can find anyone still employed there who is willing to push for an investigation, I'm afraid there's really nothing you can do.
Starting your own business now is very difficult, as you know. This economy is harsh. The only thing you can do is keep pounding the pavement. If you feel someone is badmouthing you, and are still in communication with your former work mates, see if they can suggest someone who would better serve as a contact on your applications.
You'll be angry and hurt for a while. An injustice has been done. But once you start working things will get better and you'll be glad you're out of that place. Then it will be easier to get together with your old friends. Give it some time.
Good luck

i was wondering can u have an abortion bc supposely my friend did and she came back the next day suppoesely she is on this medicine that will kill the baby.. she says she was 4 months pregnant. so like can u.. i dont think she can. i think she is lieing.. any advice (link)
|
The only way to get an abortion at 4 months is if
1. you live in a state or country where it is legal
2. you find a clinic willing to perform the procedure. Most don't after 12 weeks (3 months). The further along you are, the more you're health is at risk. It's safer to carry to term, and if you must, consider adoption instead.
3. you're willing to pay the higher cost. The longer you wait, the more it will cost. After 10-12 weeks you're looking at around $1000.00 or more.
The abortion pill (Mifeprex) only works if you are 8 weeks pregnant or less. Plan B is emergency contraception that works only up to 72 hours after unprotected sex. Available to women 18yrs or older.
Young girls should know the facts. Sex isn't just a fun thing to do. It something that should be done responsibly and under no pressure. If you are considering having sex or already are, read as much as you can about safe sex. Abortions are nothing to joke about.
Good luck

I took some classes to become a makeup artist, which I am now (they were a bit expensive) now I heard they are giving some hair classes for about 700 dollars (for 2 days). I don't know if to go for it and take them or work on my makeup business and later on enroll in them? What would you suggest? (link)
|
It depends on what you really want to do in the end. Do you want to be a hair and makeup artist or just a make up artist? Having the combination under your education belt would make you more marketable. As for the classes, I can't imagine you would get good rounded hair skills in just two days - and $700.00 is a bit expensive. Actually, it sounds more like a seminar for licensed hair stylists. If you're willing to spend that kind of money, you might as well put it to a more practical use and enroll in a part time class at a hair academy. This way you could work on your existing makeup business and still learn about hair. Plus, having a certificate from an academy makes your portfolio look good.

hey with this guy i asked him if i can sit by him at studyhall and he said you can sit by me if u want to is that good.. lol.. i really like him like i ask him to do things with me and like i asked him to go to this friday night live thing with me and he said he rather play on the computer so like he isnt standing me up right he just wants to play on the computer. i do that 2. but yah thanks and i will rate u.. please help me (link)
|
If a guy would rather play on the computer than go out with you, I'm sorry to say that means he's not into you. I suggest you just treat him like anyone else, and either he'll come around because he's not getting the attention you usually give him, or things will stay the way they are.

On Thanksgiving my aunt brought over mashed potatoes for dinner with my family. I made a wonderful, moist turkey to go with it and my family loved it all. The mashed potatoes were talked about a lot though so it's been making me want to create fluffy mashed potatoes like my aunt did. Well, since she left I've tried to make the mashed potatoes all light and fluffy like she did but it always turns out thick and bland.
How do you make fluffy mashed potatoes?
I don't want to use instant mashed potatoes or anything weird like that. I want to mash my own potatoes but I don't want them to be thick like they are when I do them. My best friend said she saw her mom put some whipping cream into the mashed potatoes at her house and that they are fluffy--is that what I'm suppose to do? If so, how much would I use?
Please, I want to make some really great, fluffy mashed potatoes for Christmas dinner. Can someone please help me by giving me a good recipe for delicious fluffy mashed potatoes? Best mashed potato recipe, anyone?
Step by step instructions are happily welcomed! (link)
|
What makes mashed potatoes fluffy is:
1. the type of potato you use - russet or yukon gold fluff the best because they have a higher startch content.
2. how you cook them. Start them in a pot with cold water just enough to cover them, and some salt. I don't know how many people you are cooking for, but as long as they're covered it doesn't matter how many chopped potatoes are in the pot. Bring the water to a boil and cook until you can pierce them with a fork. When done, drain WITHOUT rinsing. Put them back on the stove on low. The low heat makes the excess water evaporate and leaves you with more flavor.
3. For fluffy potatoes, use an electric mixer. The mixer whips air into the potatoes and gives them more volume and those great stiff peaks. It also stretches it out so you have "more" mashed potatoes.
4. What you put in them depends on the flavor you want. I like a combination of things like butter, american cheese, garlic, rosemary, and instead of cream I like to use chicken stock. It really depends on what you like. Add ingredients slowly and taste as you go along.
I can't give you a specific recipe because, again, don't know how many people you're cooking for. I hope this basic information helps. You can always call your aunt and ask for her recipe!
Good luck!

I have kind of like a puffyness under my eyes. I've had it as long as i can remember, and its not caused by lack of sleep or anything. I actually was on allergy pills and thought that would help if it was caused by allergies, but they're still there. is there any way to get rid of them? even something just to bring the puffyness down a little. and nothing major like surgery or anything lol :) thanks (link)

Puffy Eyes Treatments and Home Remedies
For normal puffy eyes that is not caused by other eye conditions, there are many ways to get rid of puffy eyes. The following list is only a few of the remedies and may not work for everyone.
-Wash face with ice cold water
-Limit sodium intake
-Drink plenty of water to clean out your system
-Place two slices of cool cucumber on the eyes for several minutes
-Moisten two tea bags in cold water, chill them in the refrigerator and place them over closed eyelids for several minutes
-For allergies and puffy eyes, find out the item causing the allergic reaction and minimize its use; doctors may also provide medication in the form of shots or prescription drugs
-Cream for puffy eyes - Try a soothing eye cream with aloe and Vitamin E, which can be applied to the eyes

You have a yourself a little muscle twitch. It's an involuntary muscle contraction you can see under the skin. The technical term is fasciculation. This usually occurs after some type of muscle stress. It might happen when you're just at rest. Sometimes, not enough magnesium in the diet causes twitches. Most likely, it's nothing and it will go away on it's own. Stay hydrated with water or gatoraid. Stretch your lower body. Lie down and bring your knees to your chest and count at least to 20. Do this a few times and it will help. If it doesn't go away in what you think is a timely manner, see your doctor.
Good luck!

Okay, I'll be honest. I won't say it's one of my friends. This problem is strictly me. I'm a 15 year old girl. I am around 5,3 and I weigh around 102-105. It depends on the day. Anyways, let's go to the problem I'm having. I have this weird thing where I strive to be anorexic. I know I can't be buliemic. I can't make myself throw up on cue because I'm a singer. Also, I've tried it. I just can't. I think it's also because I know alot about anorexia and the bad effects. Yet, I want to be it? Basically if you're lost you should be around WTF?. I have friends I have a good life. It's not like I need a lot of attention. It's just that I seem to always want to be anorexic. I'm skinny and I know that. I just don't know whats wrong with me. Should I seek help? I haven't talked to anyone about this ever. I figure since this is anonymous I can get an honest answer. I know that you can't decide to become anorexic. it's a disease within your head. I just always feel like thats something I want to be. I often count calories. I try to do it but I can't. All I need are some answers. Thank you. (link)
|
It's good that you're asking questions about this. Anorexia is a very dangerous thing. You should read about other people's experiences with fighting this and it may shed some light on your situation. Read more about it's causes and symptoms and see if you identify with any. Your health is nothing to play with. If you feel you have a negative body image, talk to your parents. Maybe see your doctor. A check up might bring to light any vitamin deficiency you might have. No one WANTS to be anorexic. It's an eating disorder even harder to treat than a drug addiction. If you feel the need to be thin, ok, cool, but strive to be HEALTHY as well. And that means eating and exercising. Anorexia will ruin your skin, nails, hair, teeth, mess with your major organs - who wants to lose kidney function? Really, nothing good there. Don't keep your feelings a secret. Get some counseling if you and your parents feel it's necessary.
Good luck!
