Should I take This Class

Question Posted Wednesday December 10 2008, 12:23 am

I took some classes to become a makeup artist, which I am now (they were a bit expensive) now I heard they are giving some hair classes for about 700 dollars (for 2 days). I don't know if to go for it and take them or work on my makeup business and later on enroll in them? What would you suggest?

It depends on you. 700 dollars is a lot of money but if it is a career you want to continue why not? knowing make up and hair makes you more trained and will offer you a better career in the future

I think that you should save your $700 and spend it on a rainy day. So maybe open your own makeup business.

It depends on what you really want to do in the end. Do you want to be a hair and makeup artist or just a make up artist? Having the combination under your education belt would make you more marketable. As for the classes, I can't imagine you would get good rounded hair skills in just two days - and $700.00 is a bit expensive. Actually, it sounds more like a seminar for licensed hair stylists. If you're willing to spend that kind of money, you might as well put it to a more practical use and enroll in a part time class at a hair academy. This way you could work on your existing makeup business and still learn about hair. Plus, having a certificate from an academy makes your portfolio look good.

Good luck!
