When my friends and I are in a group and talking, it's easier for me to make a conversation and i'm comfortable talking to everyone. When I'm one on one with a person, it's very uncomfortable and I don't know what to talk about so there will be this awkward silence. Why is this happening? What can I do? (All girls by the way..) ok well i think you need to get over your insecurity.. there's nothing to be afraid of.. people can suck but they're not as bad as it seems and you're never gonna have a boyfriend or a friend until you do something about it and you make the stand.. sorry if i sound harsh but that's just what you gotta do

ok well, im a girl,im 15 and im a freshman, i started doing track in december and i met this guy that i really liked and it turned out that he liked me too so we started talking on the phone and then he asked me out in jan., he was really the first boyfriend i ever had, when we started going out, i didnt tell my parents because they dont really want me to date until i turn 16 because they are quite over protective, so he stated waiting for me after every class and walked me to class and he always talked to me online and told me how much he missed me when i wasnt with him or talked to him, and he told me he loved me everytime we hung up the phone or left eachother and we never really hung out outside of school or track, so one day i waited for him like i always did and he didnt meet me where we usually did and it was valentines day, i thought that maybe he just wasnt in school, so then i saw him at lunch and he didnt even look at me, so then that day at track i asked him if he was mad at me and he said no, and then didnt talk to me for the rest of the day, so then he began to avoid me everyday and didnt really talk to me that much anymore, then i found out that my best friend sue* liked him and he had gone over her house one day and they talked on the phone like all the time, so i asked him about it and he was like i still really like you im just mad at the fact that you didnt tell your parents when we started going out, and he told me that i never talked to him on the phone even though i did, then i was like are we still even like going out and for like a couple of weeks he was like idk, but i still like you, so one day i was like its a yes or no are we going out and then he said no i guess and then two weeks later he asked out my best friend Sue*..i dont kno what to think, did he ever like me in the first place, or is he just trying to cover up that fact that he still likes me, i have been trying to move on, but its hard because i dont know if it was something that i did wrong and if it is, i dont want it to happen again, can you please help me, im so confused, thanks so much

you have to link it.. when you're at your column copy the address down. then go to your edit profile and click the link button.. put that in the URL part and some type of word or phrase that you want them to click on for it to come up.. good luck

i did the same thing too for a while.. it's completly natural.. your just unsatisfied with the guys you are with.. just keep doing what your doing except maybe try to be friends with a guy for a week or two first.. then maybe you'll see you do or don't really want to go out with him. hope i helped.. and you'll find the right guy that you want a commitment with.. when you know you know.

ok so on like wed. my best friend asked my boyfriend if him and i would go to her boyfriends laX game with her next weekend and then i said i wasnt sure if i could yet or no so she told my boyfriend that if i couldnt go then just them could go. but then yesterday after school she got on the computer and IMed my boyfriend and was tellin him how hes a bad boyfriend and he treats me bad and stuff but he doesnt. and tonite i was supposed to go to the movies with him, and one of my other friends. but that girl(the one that IMed him) told him that if i cant go then he shouldnt go with the other girl cuz then thats wrong. but thats like the same thing as how she told him that if i cant go to the laX game he can go with her together. and since she told him hes a bad boyfriend and stuff hes got that in his head that he is and i tell him hes not and he doesnt listen. i dont know what to do about any of this.

Tell your friend to back off. I think she likes your boyfriend and she wants him to think you don't like him and get him broken up with you and make him feel so guilty that he won't go out with any other girl except her. Tell your friend that she needs to leave you and your boyfriend alone. She's trying to tear you too apart and she needs to go.

My brother died 2 weeks ago and I really don't know what to do. I lived with him because my mom died 3 years ago and my dad used to beat and rape me. He was more like a father than a brother to me and I really don't know what to do. I've been staying with my friend until I get a foster family and she is always asking me if I'm ok and I'm really not. I don't know what to do with myself. I even tried drugs and I've been drinking a lot. I just want to kill myself and I'm so scared of what's going to happen next. I love him soo much and he was pretty much all that I had and now he's gone. I haven't even cried because I just can't, does that mean that there's something wrong with me? Why can't I just cry like normal people do when something happens to them? I really think that I'm a horrible because I can't even cry for my own brother. Please help me (link)

You can't cry because first you're in shock and second sometimes when something hurts that bad we can't cry. It seems like you've been through a lot and the world has not been kind to you. I know what you need to do because i had to do it too. You need to wake up and see that you can't live for anyone else.. you have to live for yourself. You need to stop drinking and doing drugs.. it just makes it worse in the end.. it's just one more thing that's hurting you and it won't make it better. You can't kill yourself.. if the only reason why you can't is because it would hurt your friend or even think about this.. you kill yourself.. someone has to identify the body.. someone has to make funeral arrangements.. someone has to find you dead.. cut up or oded.. that could haunt them for the rest of their life. you dying could mean that the police had to come and deal with your situation instead of helping a poor little girl who's father is beating and raping her just like yours did. You have to live for yourself. You have to live to believe there's something better out there for you.. i know your scared, but you can't be. i'm sorry but it's now you against the world and hate it or love it it's how it is and you just have to live and be the best you because someday you might do something that helps millions of people or maybe just one little girl.. hope i helped.. and good luck.. remember life IS worth living for.

ok my best friend jayla thinks she's pretty and acts like she the prettiest one in the world. I don't like the way she acts. Her personality I don't like. She be calling other girls ugly at one minute and then the next minute, she sees her givng someone eles candy, she(jayla)holds her hand out, and expects that girl to give her candy. Now I don't know if I should be her best friend and I don't know if I shoudl even be her friend at all. She sometimes be calling me and my friends ugly, and I hate that!!! I sometimes feel like saying something mean back. But any thing that comes out of my mouth that is mean, it sometimes goes too far over the limit. she think I forgot all the things she be syaing but I don't!! and she also don't be having my back. If I were to get in a fight, then she wuold just watch. But my other friend Cornita promises she will have my back, and she do. maybe the best thing you CAN do is stop being friends with her. for right now i think that's what she needs.. she needs a wake up call. if your her best friend and she treats you like that then obviously she's not a very good friend.. give her a month.. even just a couple weeks and i'm sure you'll see a big change in her because she'll realize what she's doing isn't getting her friends and she won't be happy without them

I was friends with this girl named Tina for a whole grade before we grew apart. REcently, her mother died from cancer, and whenever I saw her after that she acted like she was fine, so I always made sure to act cheery and bright around her, and to pretend as though it never happened. My other friends all tell me I'm heartless and pretending like it never happened to her is just going to make it worse. What do I do? (link)

ok so after my sweet 16 party we are going swimming in the indoor pool from like 10-11:30 or whatever...problem is..the hotel says a lifeguard must be present? I guess i have to accept this rule being that its the hotel's rule, but would the people there think its lame and not want to stay in the pool being that the lifeguard is there? or do you think they will accept it and still have fun. Answer honestly..if you honestly think they wont like it and would want to leave..tell me.

ok. heres the deal. im 14 yrs. old and have this 18 yr. old boyfriend. i will be 15 in july . well we started going out 2 weeks ago. i know its not a long time but ive been crushin on this guy for like 2 monthes and he finally asked me out. i was soo happy. so i wanted my parents to meet him so we could go out to places and stuff. so he came over and stayed for an hour or so then we went out. well i lied to my parents saying he was only 17. bc if they found out he was 18 theyd flip out and not let me see him. well my parents found out he was 18 . i dont know how though. they wont tell me. so im not allowed to be with him. he gave me his necklace to wear and my dad took it and has it right now. he's not allowed to call me and i cant call him and i cant chill with him or anything. im not allowed to even chill with him at school either. isnt that crazy!? so anyways my parents hate his guts. they say he's an ass and he's way too old for me but i dont think he is. i really like him. he bought me a white gold diamond heart necklace. i love it! so i dont know what to do. my dad wants him to stay away from me and if he dont then they'll get him arrested for being with a minor. ive tried convincing my parents this past week begging, crying to just let me be with him. they just yelled at me more. my parents think im not a virgin anymore either and that im doing drugs. so they took me to get drug tested. they got the results back yesterday and im clean. :) . so i dont know what to do. help (link)

ok well first off tell them obviously they're wrong about a lot because they were wrong about you doing drugs. Then tell them that they can see the guy cares about you if a. he's risking all this and b. he gave you such an expensive gift.. maybe also mention the fact that they are hypocrits because they liked him when they thought he was 17. tell your parents you want to see him and (be mature) tell them that they need to let you make your own decisions.. you are almost 15.. make sure you talk to them sensibly.. let them find for themselves that you are mature enough to have an 18 year old boyfriend.. hope i helped sweets

i do the same exact thing.. whenever i'm around a guy i always feel like i like him like that.. i think it's just me longing to have a boyfriend. be carful what you do because if you tell him you like him too quick then he might get scared and you won't have a chance at even a friendship.. just let things move slow and see how it goes.. it's really hard when you fall that hard that fast and then find out you don't have a chance so try your best not to get too excited before anything is really said.

high heels will make your legs look longer there by giving the effect they're thinner.. but really.. even though you may think your legs are big i'm sure many people think they're just great! :-)

obviously your friend has not yet learned her lesson. she's not going to listen to you no matter what and if you keep pushing her she's going to do the exact opposite. Just tell her you're worried. Maybe she just needs someone to care.. tell her you care about her and don't want to see her getting hurt. if she knows what she's doing she'll listen to you but she may not.. just let her make her own decisions.. she's going to have to learn from her own mistakes sooner or later

you can't be afraid of these people.. their main problem is is that they feel inferior in some way. they feel bad so they take it out on others and i know that you've probably heard that before but it's true. they're afraid of things they cannot control so they want to make you scared too.. seriously.. just once.. just tell them you're not afraid of them. just treat them the way they are, completly stupid.. just be like oh never heard that one before.. you don't have to fight back and sometimes you just need to let it go and then they will too.

umm.. just sit back and wait it out.. seems like too much is going on.. tell ur friend you don't want to date this guy so she can have him.. then tell your ex to lay off.. he doesn't have control over you anymore.. then tell this guy that you want him as a friend and your ex is just jealous.. maybe everything just needs time to simmer so everyone can get their head on straight.. hope i helped
