Management acting differently

Question Posted Friday September 27 2019, 8:23 pm

Hi,

I recently asked my supervisor for a raise and it been a couple of weeks but he said he follow up with me next week. Anyways, I notice management is acting differently. One of my colleagues who is in a higher position I notice she doesn’t speak to me almost like avoiding me. I just notice this with the higher ups so I’m consider... is this a sign I didn’t get a raise?

Hi there,

I think you're feeling a little overwhelmed. My advice would be to wait for the management to confirm on your promotion before assuming anything. And your colleague acting differently can happen due to multiple reasons. She/he might be going through something else in life. And everybody has their own goals and ambitions. So you did nothing wrong by asking for a promotion not should you be scared about asking. Just wait a while and ping your manager again for an update on it. Don't let the colleagues behaviour get to you.
