It's known that those who self harm may suffer from depression and in some cases, bipolar disorder along with the whole range of mood disorders. Some are also apt to abuse drugs or alcohol too.
This isn't something be brushed aside as a small problem. The very nature of self harm is physical damage to one's body. It's important to seek out help because once you get to the root of the problem, you can find alternative methods to deal with the pain.
My advice to you is to reach out and talk to someone, anyone who you can trust, about how you are feeling. In the meantime, whenever you feel the need to bruise yourself, try punching a pillow or just draw on your body instead of hitting it. [ Grandfather's advice column | Ask Grandfather A Question ]
