I need advice about work/money

Question Posted Friday September 5 2014, 8:32 pm

I have no job or car and it costs 15 dollars one way to go into the nearest town. Which means if it would cost 600$ a month to go to work. I'm trying to save up to move into the city so I can go to work without spending most of my paycheck. What can I do?

It can be tough when you live in a rural environment. But, there are certainly things you can do to make some cash and save it up.

If you are computer savvy, you can sign up with a site like Fiverr.com or Google Helpouts and each money by doing little jobs or helping people learn a skill you can share with them.

Another option is to sell things you don't need or want anymore. You can sell stuff on Craigslist, Ebay or even through Amazon.com as a third-party seller.

Recycle old in cartridges. Sending these in to a company Like Ecycle can make you a few bucks.

See if your neighbors could use your help with any work around the house. Busy people who don't always have time for things and the elderly might be very appreciative of the services your can provide to help make their lives easier.

There are lots of things you can do, just invest a little time reaching the topic and find out for yourself.

I understand your question; you have a dilemma in that it could cost you most of one paycheck or more just to get to work. Without more information such as what type of work you are capable of thus what your earnings potential may be. It is hard to offer any concrete advice.

Best advice based on what you have written is to try for a government job as many come with a transportation allowance for using public transportation. This is based on where I live and the federal government and how local government mimics the federal government.
