I'm a 21 male. For a while now I've had this problem where I get this burning uneasy feeling in my very bottom back and back of my legs. Seems to mainly be at night when I'm trying to sleep its hard to describe the feeling but when I move around it eases up until I'm still again and is still there. If I take pain medication it doesn't seem to do it I guess bc the meds numb your feeling? But I need to know because its annoying! I have this spot on my spine a specific vertebrae that if you touch it its very sensitive and a little below and above it is the same but not as bad and there's times it gets set off and I can't move. To be honest most of my muscles ache my upper back muscles are always tight but don't bug me like the other problem. My Dr refuses to really do any test like a MRI so idk what the bad pain is. Any ideas on either?
If you were to call 911 for help and tell them this they would place you in a neck brace and strap you to a backboard. The reason they would do this is this is this an indication of some type of spinal injury. Protocol calls for a backboard and neck collar for safe transport.
You don't say why your doctor will not order an MRI or x-ray and not being a doctor myself I cannot say why he or she refuses or what he or she may have felt when palpating the area. As a rescue squad member I can only say what we would do faced with what you have written if you called and wanted to go to a hospital.
As I said to begin with I think you need a second opinion which your insurance company will pay for. I would suggest an Neurosurgeon. Yea I know you're saying you back hurts not your brain. I thought that way too until I was in an auto accident and suffer from the same type of pain you do. Neurosurgeons repair problems with the spine as well as the brain and are more qualified, in my view, than an orthopedic spine surgeon.
You may have a slipped disc or a pinch disc. There are different ways to fix this problem but until it is properly identified the disc or discs are most likely sitting and pinching some nerves which is why you're feeling pain and why the pain meds are not giving you the relief you need.
As the saying goes; been there, done that, have a stack or MRI and x-ray film to prove it. If you have a trauma hospital in your area call the patient referral line and ask for an appointment with their Trauma Neurosurgical Department. This is how I met my surgeon.
