At 14 years old if I was your mother, I wouldn't buy you one either. Yes masturbation is a natural thing, but your mom isn't being over protective, there is just a certain age where it would be more suitable for those types of things.
As for the ways, you can use your fingers, or as I have seen is a popular one, pretty much hump a pillow. I will not go into too much detail as you are only 14, but online you can look and find tons of ways. Good luck xx
