If botox is poison, why do people inject it?

I heard that the stuff in botox is a horrible toxin that can basically cause food poisoning... how come it helps people get the desired effect they want if its so poisonous? i dont understand how that works... wouldn't it make somebody look worse? more aged or something?

Yes it contains toxins but used in small doses such as botox.. its not as harmful.

Simple answer is...botox does bad.. and it causes good effects.

Botox blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles. The injected muscle can't contract. That makes the wrinkles relax and soften.

Its not a permanent action, and requires repeated procedures to maintain the desired effect.

Yes Botox is a poison. When properly used and administer by a well trained practitioner can be beneficial for certain types of problems. The problem is that some people abuse it and there are many out there administering it that are not licensed to do so.

When abused it can cause people great harm, make them look worse and in extreme situations cause death. People looking for the benefits Botox can provide should see a Board Certified Plastic surgeon trained in the use of Botox. It may be more expensive than the street vendor pushing it though the results are better and the Doctor will not allow the patient to abuse it or over administer it.
