Young lady your questions give great concern as to how old you are. If you are old enough to be having sex and just how knowledgeable of reproductive system you are.

To answer you question: The answer is it depends on certain factors.

First: You can not see your ovulation as that takes place inside your body. You may feel a cramping sensation when it happens but you definitely cannot see it.

Ovulation is when your ovary sends and egg into your fallopian tube where it can be fertilized. For 80% of women this occurs some time between the 7th and 21st day of their cycle. Meaning 7 days after their period and ending 7 days before their period starts again.

Somewhere in this 14 day time span an egg is erupted from your ovary and is viable for 3 days to be fertilized. If you have unprotected sex during this time or are not on birth control you could get pregnant.

For the other 20% of women they can ovulate at any time during their cycle. Even during their period. It is important to know when you ovulate in order to become pregnant and to keep from becoming pregnant. The best way to not become pregnant is not to have sex. The next best way is to use some form of birth control, like a condom.

Not knowing how your body is designed and how it works can get you into trouble you don't want. I would suggest before you have sex with anyone again that you learn more about how your body is designed and how it works. A great deal of this information can be found on the web.
