Counseling music

Question Posted Sunday December 1 2013, 1:26 pm

I am a high school senior counselor and at the end of the month, I will be leaving to another school. I want to make a mix CD for my students that was inspirational for them. Does anyone know any good songs that I can add to their mix CD? Acoustic songs preferred but anything is worth checking out. We talked about a lot about being aware, being themselves, bad relationships, family, growing up to be who they want to be...so any of those themes are also welcomed.

Thank you.

Dunno about acoustics but these are good songs that have these themes:

"All Star" by Smashmouth

"Never tear us apart" by Paloma Faith (originally by inxs)

"Now" by Paramore

"Feeling Good" by Muse or Shirley Bassey

"Just the way you are" by Bruno Mars

"Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett

"Survivor" By Destinys Child

"Coming Home" by P Diddy

"A little Party never killed nobody" By Fergie and Goon Rock

"High School Never Ends" by Bowling for Soup

"Lose yourself" by Eminem

and if nothing else:
"Smiley Faces" by Gnarls Barkley. That is such an upbeat song!

Good luck!
