I have scabs and bumps on my scalp. How do i get rid of them?

Question Posted Friday June 21 2013, 7:00 pm

I have a lot of scabs and bumps on my scalp. This is really weird to me. I was used to getting these when I had a relaxer but I haven't had a relaxer in almost 8 months & I don't plan on getting another one. I have my hair in braids now. I get these sores no matter how my hair is styled. I use tea tree oil and that helps a little. Where are these scabs and bumps coming from?

i get this too. i believe its a severe case of dandruff. i get it really bad in cold weather because it makes my head really dry. i would recommend going to the chemist & seeing if they have any itching relief moisturiser, or anti-dandruff shampoo. in the mean time, i recommend you massaging squeezed lemon juice on your scalp, it tingles a bit & its not permanent but its an instant removal of scalp build up. dandruff may come back the next day but keep doing it until you can make time to go to the chemist. & to avoid dandruff in future, never tie your hair up after you wash it, let it air dry. dont pick the scabs, & avoid shampoos that give you scalp build up. good luck.

It could mean you have a dry scalp. You could ask your pharmacist for products for dry scalps but if that doesn't work you can talk to your GP.
