Question Posted Monday March 25 2013, 9:04 pm

"Although don't go into detail if you go and try to talk to her about it. She knows prison isn't a good place to be but I'm sure going there will show her that she doesn't want to end up there."

what kind of things should I say exactly?

Well since she is 14, she understands that her mom has messed up and that's why she is in prison. Since she's a teenager, I'm sure she is aware of how bad it would be to end up in a place like that.

What I do think you should say is just explain that her mom messed up, that's why she is there and that she is not a bad person because of it. Everybody makes mistakes and you love her just the same. Then ask if she wanted to go with you to visit her mom.

Just make sure you don't talk bad about her mom at all, keep everything positive. Your daughter will she that you are trying even though this is hurting you a bit.
