Yikes!!! I think I have feeling for my friend what do I do?

Question Posted Thursday March 21 2013, 1:46 pm

I have this guy friend I've had for about 3 years now. He's been a very good friend to me he's almost like a brother to me. He's very supportive, there to listen, gives good advice, and sometimes is very over protective of me especially when he thinks another guy is trying to hurt me. Recently I've been thinking about him more often than I usually did in the past and when I'm around him I cant stop staring. I'm trying really hard to deny it but its hard. I think I have romantic feelings for him. But we're friends and I dont want to ruin it or make it awkward between us and I don't think he feels the same way about me. What do I do?

If he's been a friend this long and you can share anything you that even if he's not interested he's not going to treat you badly. He will likely stay a friend as that's who he is.

I have a hunch though that he probably would be open to this considering how protective he is of you now. Guys just don't do that with girls they don't feel something special about.

What you should do is tell him this "I have something to tell you. It's a good thing but very hard for me to own up to. I don't want to lose you as a friend but lately I have had feelings for you and don't know what to do about it."

I'm sure he will make this easy for you no matter his interest. If you genuinely want him as your boyfriend you have to take a risk that could turn out to be 100% worth taking. Even if he only remains a friend it will bring you closer. You have nothing to lose here.
