You can never predict exactally when your period will come. It usualy comes somewhat around the time someone in your familys did. So be prepared at all times. Sometimes it might not happen at the same time at your mom. Just be prepared and when it does happen, you will know ]
The only answer to this question is that your period will start when your body starts to go through puberty and release the hormones that will start your period. Each of of us start puberty at different ages and family history does not always play a factor in when you start.
The fact that your mother started her period when she was 11 does enter into the picture somewhat but you are also made up of half of your fathers genes. Your dominant genes could be his which means you should look to his sister and mother to find out when they started their periods. Somewhere between all of these ages it very possible you will start your period or not as their or things call a dormant gene that that passed to you that they didn't have may be in you that and control when your period starts
There is one other factor. Are you very athletic? Do you train heavily and participate in any sport? If so this will delay you're physical development and period. By that I mean breast growth and your period.
Women Olympic athletes do not get their periods while they are training neither to the fully develop their womanly figures until after they relax their training schedule. Go to UTube and watch recordings of young 14 to 18 year old Olympic athletes. Most are almost flat chested and if you were to ask they they would tell you if they ever had a period while training.
Older Olympic athletes have to stop training if they want to get pregnant. Then resume training after they have their baby.
So in short you will get your period when your body is ready and there is no way to predict when. We can only say what things can delay it such as over exercising like Olympic athletes and being very under weight such as Ballerinas. ]
