Can I move out at 16 in Australia without parents consent?
Question Posted Tuesday March 12 2013, 4:07 am
I live in New South Wales Australia. I am 16 and wanted to move out of home for 3 years now. I have run away from home once when I was 15 but was taken home by police.
They told me I could move out when I was 16 but many people have told me I can't.
I live with 2 Alcoholic parents and can't stand the fighting.
I would really like to know if I can move out at 16 without parents consent and NOT be taken home by police.
Thank you!

How do you see yourself living alone? how will you manage your living expenses and what if you get sick and stuff?
Please make sure you got all bases covered before you make a really major decision that will change your life.
I think you are better off telling your parents (when they are sober) how you feel and your plans. (they will think you are very mature if you have it all figured out) so that they know where you are etc and you wont feel too bad when you (somehow) miss them. what i am trying to say is i hope you can be independent without the guilt feeling...
Im sorry, i just wanted to share my thoughts.
Think very well and never make a decision when youre mad. Always be on the safe side..
