Black Hair: Dying it yourself without messing up?

Question Posted Wednesday February 6 2013, 4:05 am

18/f
I used to always dye my hair at a salon because I never wanted to mess up. It's expensive so I was thinking about doing it myself this time.
The only problem is, I've seen people mess up with black hair. Like sometimes it turned blue.
How do I keep that from happening and what kind is the best to use?
My hair is naturally dark brown.
Thanks so much.

Hello,

I have been dying my hair for years and have always used herbal essence. This can ve found at walmart for about 7 dollars (if you have long thick hair then you may need two) the box comes with step by step directions that are very easy to follow also. :-)
