My boyfriend of 5 years off and on broke up with me last September but we would occasionally talk every now and then and try to make things work but they never did. Anyway we officially stopped talking 2 months ago when he pretty much told me "I would've been a great wife if the timining was right" and I guess that was his way of saying we were done for good. I was surprisingly okay I don't remember being that sad or breaking down like I had done before in the past when we broke up. But now I find myself thinking about him every day like something happens and I think of ways I could text him to tell him but I never do... I don't know why I miss him so much he never treated me the way I wanted him to so why now? And when will this feeling just go away?

There are a few things, One, you kept in contact after you both were no longer together. This right here only prolonged your pain
Sometimes a break up is like a death, someone can die but we do not process it right away. Unfortunately this is what sounds like is happening. It is permanent and you are seeing the reality of it.
I know this is tough to hear..
It could of been possible that he just wasn't ready to settle down. Five years is a long time and I am not sure if you both discussed the future.
It could also be possible he may of found someone else
He may be looking to settle down and he tried to tell you in a nice way that you were not the right person he wanted a wife. [ Xui's advice column | Ask Xui A Question ]
